Yeah, but they could easily play it off as being "Niko killed Playboy X". Same with if any of the McReary (Packie most likely) family are in GTAV. They could say whether Kate or Roman were killed.

Happens all the time in games. There may be different endings and stuff to games, and the next game would tell you which ending they're keeping as part of the continuity. Look at Metal Gear Solid 1. You could either choose to save Meryl or let her die. In the next game it's revealed that you chose to save Meryl (even if you didn't, but storyline wise, you now did)

No reason why they can't check for a GTA IV save file and check which choice you made, and have the character you didn't kill appear in the game. If you don't have a GTA IV save file, they could just pick one of them.

However, this is highly unlikely to happen.

Second day of Spring, eh? ;)

I've a feeling about the end of April. Probably because I'm away on holiday then and therefore won't be able to play the game. It would though make the long flight back mroe bareable to know that a nice new copy of GTA V is waiting for me the other end....

I don't want to start this again but... spring begins on the 21st of March now?

    :pac:

PS3 games are region free. I've bought from the US and Asia and they all work.

Xbox is a different story. I assume pmcmahon thought you were speaking about xbox :).

Anyone travelling to USA around the release date and thinking of picking it up for xbox, bring an extra suitcase to carry the 50 discs in :pac:

I think you guys are being a bit dismissive of my character complaints btw. The Michael character is not the same as shown in the first trailer, he's not the badass(going by the second trailer) that he appeared to be in the first one. He looks out of shape and generally not someone to be feared. IMO he also doesn't suit the fun world they're going for. Too old.
Maybe you are been a little dismissive of "old" people? Almost every touchstone gangster from fiction I can relate to on some level and are still fascinating characters are older- Goodfellas, Carlitos Way, Heat (obviously the main influence on this game), Millars Crossing, Road to Perdition, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad.... we could be here all day... I wracked my brain and came up with City of God as a good intelligent fiction with younger characters I actually liked. You seem pretty into the story aspect of GTA, do you really think playing as some callow youth would make for a better story then a cynical, seen-it-all, older type trying desperately trying not to get dragged back into a life of crime? The "goodlooking badass" you describe as your ideal character makes me imagine a dumb, wanna be punk.

I also think you are missing the point with Michael (who I hope I look as good as when I am 50.) He is enjoying his 'retirement' when we meet him, but I'm sure he would be able to deal with any "young goodlooking badasses" who crosses him without creasing his suit.

Trevor for me could be the guy to be the guy to go on rampages with. I don't play GTA and just go around killing everyone in sight because I like to play how the characters would behave as if it was constantly in cut scenes/a movie.
While I disagree with almost every point you make in this forum, here we are in agreement. From the looks of it Trevor will be my go to rampage guy. R* are more and more going for the story driven aspect and it is hard to balance that with the more chaotic gameplay we all know and love, one minute Nico will be behaving like a pretty solid guy the next he is shooting a medic in the face so he can go and run over joggers in an ambulance... It just took me out of the story.

I though they might push this type of gameplay onto multi-player but I think with Trevor the clever bast*rds at R* have found a way to have their cake and eat it too.

Look, for your own sakes (and purely for this game) I'd get used to the idea that Spring doesn't start at the start of February because you'll just be disappointed when the game comes out several months after then. Regardless of your crazy Irish seasons, Rockstar North is a company with British and American roots and in neither of those countries is Spring considered to start anything like that early.

    Now where were we?!

Need to replay MGS2... I could've sworn that they went down the route of just never mentioning it...

I think Meryl is mentioned in MGS2 in a throwaway line. But either way: MGS4 spoiler
Meryl is a major character in the last MGS game so clearly didn't die in the first one.

It was kind of a throwaway comment between Otacon and Snake via Codec if I remember right. Mightn't have even been a storyline Codec, but one you have to keep calling Otacon to get. Talking about how she and Snake were together for a few months before they split up and Snake went back to chasing down Metal Gears.

Not getting into it again, so I wont be replying after this. :pac:

I think American Springtime starts in January.

I thought that, yes you could play them on any ps3 system, but you couldnt get updates for any of them, or patches.

Is it not DLC which is the issue? Patches and the like should still download fine.

It doesn't. I've read countless posts regarding US spring time and it's from something like. March, April May then Summer is June, July August, then fall is September, October, November and Winter is December, January and February.

    Sorry dude.

Fair enough on obscure things, but on something as trivial as spring, id say its spot on.

    Trivial?

Given the controversy it's caused here, I think it's fair to say it's not trivial! :pac:

Trailer #2 was only released on Wednesday and GameInformer article the week before, so it could be next month before we get any real new information

Here's the latest approximation of what the map will look like based on the analysis of the trailers and photos.

Looking at that, one thing I wish it had was a river going all the way from mount chillad to los santos.

What's their reasoning for the lake behind Mt. Chillad?

I still reckon there'll be something south of Los Santos itself. They aren't gonna reveal everything right off the bat.

The map isn't very detailed, I'd imagine there will be a river that cuts through LS from Mount Chiliad

There probably is. That Zancudo river from the previous screenshots may well terminate at the dam behind the city, which was shown in the GI article. Then there's the LA/LS river which is visible in Trailer 2. Hopefully we'll get more info on the geography of the countryside soon.

Oh, and the lake is shown beside a huge desert mountain in another screenshot. I'm not bothered attaching the images at the minute though, sorry!

I can see the Mexican border being in it. Not getting my hopes up but its a possibility.
