I, for one, did not like the driving in GTA IV. Though I didn't really like anything about it bar the idea of the 'immigrant protagonist come to live the American dream'. I seem to be in the minority though

Icecream van + Venice beach promenade equivalent will equal mayhem

Looks interesting. Particularly the dynamic between the protagonists.

Is that Avatar the chap from bobs burgers? No blimp in the trailer also.

    Tis. Gene Belcher. My hero.

I think i'm onto something with the blimp being removed.

All this talk of n4s being used for the driving engine is a good thing. Seriously, they do a great job of making you feel like you're going fast. As for the physics it still has to be approved by r* and wont just be a port from one of the need for speed games.

Some of you lads are never happy. :p

I was thinking, I never really "got into" the whole bobs burger thing. :(

    How do you mean?

Maybe it's just me but I thought I seen a blimp in the air in the first shot overlooking the city, around 0.05 in the top right corner. Certainly something in the air but too far away to say what exactly.

I can't watch it with sound until I get home from work!

I brought headphones in to work. The track on the trailer is amazing.

Probably be a mission revolving around the blimp.

View To A Kill anyone? :p

Guys, i am at work and cant access any gaming sites here. I am dying to know what the trailer was all about !! Can someone tell me what they showed in the trailer? I wont get home untill 10 Pm and i am dying to find out !

Awhhhhh, Sucks to be you :P

Dont ask for a description, just watch it. Such an awesome trailer will only be ruined by someone who cant describe it properly.

I liked when Michael's daughter is fighting with the mother and Greg Miller on IGN said "Ladies, if your back looks like that then you're a slut!" [paraphrase]

Some people(KKV in particular) are just trying their hardest to find faults with this game already. Already posted that R* have let themselves down during all this process, they owe us NOTHING, they dont have to release ANYTHING before the game is released. They choose to do it, they choose what to release and when to do it. How about some appreciation for them?

Since when has GTA had realistic driving? If you are going to give out about the physics of the cars driving then i hope you stick to the rules of the road in the game and stop at every red light, if you tip off another car well then i hope you have got out with Tommy, Cj, Niko etc to try and swap insurance details.

Its a game, its supposed to be fun. I know i would much rather drive over the bridge in game at 100mph trying to dodge everything before smashing into the arse of a truck instead of driving 20mph staying behind every other car.

Like everyone else, I think this is looking great but the only scene from the trailer I can remember is this.

    thattrain.jpg

    And these haunting words....
All we had to do, was follow the damn train, CJ

Just out of curiousity, Have you read any of my posts? I've 167 in this thread alone. Or did you manage to only find my two complaints in the entire thread?

I'm quite the GTA fan (as I've detailed already) but yes, if the driving looks sh*t, I'll happily say it looks sh*t.

And I don't understand your "since when did GTA have realistic driving" question? You say that as though GTA IV, the last major release, didn't have very realistic driving.

I'm a fan of GTA, but I'll be objective about it, as I want it to be a good game, but if I think it's going in the wrong direction I'll certainly happily say so.

When I see a sports car driving into a van and going through it like a bullet, not so much as flinching, while the van is break-dancing around the road, it makes me think maybe this isn't a game I want to invest €300 on.

I bought an Xbox 360 for IV, and I felt it was worth every penny. I have literally gotten years out of the game. I applaud Rockstar's efforts with the GTA series.

I suppose you missed This Post? I really have it in for R* alright!

Having watched the trailer again, I'd have to agree with KKV on the driving. It seems to have gone the NFS route, which is not something I would welcome.

Personally, I felt IV's driving was a massive leap forward from GTAIII era, and I'd hate to see them revert to a driving style akin to Sleeping Dogs or Saints Row.

I enjoyed reading your linked post KKV. I've been a huge fan since the first one as well. III blew us all away. I was about 16 when it came out. Perfect age for that sort of game. It didn't have much references to pop culture that a kid of my age wouldn't understand and it had enough freedom and excitement to keep me going until adulthood. I remember hearing of III for the first time. My older bro came home and said GTA III was 3D now! You could beat a guy up and then an ambulance would come. When the ambulance comes you can then steal it! I couldn't believe it! Crazy cool AI/programming.
Vice City came out then and I didn't even know it was coming out. My mate just rang me up and told me he got it. Went around and we were just doing rampages, unframiliar with the map and not having much weapons but being blown away by the fact you could ride motor bikes and stab someone with a screwdriver. Oh and the minigun. How can I forget that!? Then I moved out and started actually doing the storyline missions properly.
I completed Vice City. What an amazing game. I completed the storyline when I was 18 though just before SA came out. Then about 2 weeks before SA came out I got a Xtravision magazine that said in SA you can start and spread fires, you can bet on horses. All these mad features but it didn't give much away. I had a friend that worked in a popular toyshop in city centre in Dublin. He stole it for me and delivered it to my door release day. When I saw all the different gangs and the size of the map, I was amazed. How can a game go from the size of VC to SA? I played SA for a few years with friends and by myself. I even got 100% in that game. I loved the fcuking sh1t out of that game.
IV was OK. Didn't have that magic we were spoiled with. Got features in the last game? Well, here's MORE! IV didn't do it. It was good and it was GTA but it wasn't G to the T to the mother****ing A.

    V. Looks stunning. Its like my game that should have came out after SA. if you catch my drift. Looks like we'll have a lot of action. Alot of flying around the map. I love looking at this city from the outside. Then when the game comes out, we'll be able to explore it from the inside. See all the details. Here all the crap the peds say. Hoepfully south central will be dangerous. I want to fear for my life in the bad areas. Trevor looks like a scumbag, i love him. Michael looks like the guy I think I'd like to be at his age (materialistically, possibly physicallly, lol) and Franklin is interesting.
