Flicking through the trailer again. Slowing it down a bit the car physics look okay, but at the speed were shown they look very cartoonish/acradey. Not a good move.

There was 8 months between trailer 2 for GTAIV and its release date!

But there was two further trailers in between.

They said the whole map, including explorable ocean, is 5x larger than RDR (3x without ocean) and that Los Santos alone will be 2x larger than Liberty City

hard to tell what the physics are like without playing it, id say they kept the gta4 system, maybe tweeked it here and there, that driving engine was 100 times better than those in previous gta's

No, they said they were changing it, alright. It's a massively important part of the game, so I hope they don't feck it up.

I really, really liked IV's driving.

link? i also really liked 4's physics, actually took a bit of skill to be able to drive well, i cant see them going back to super arcade style car physics tbh

I would have been perfectly happy with GTAIV's driving again if they'd even just fixed the camera height. Thumb used to get sore pushing the camera stick slightly up whenever I was driving

Id say its the airport, It would a fairly accurate location for it considering the location of LAX in Los Angeles.

Can't link, as it was in the GI mag as far as I recall (and I no longer have it).

Dan Houser is interviewed and said the cars in IV were very 'boat like' and the new cars 'hold the gound better' and are more like a racing game.

Apparently (not sure how true this is) the Need For Speed people have been working on the driving end of things (more bad news).

From 1:40 - 1:50 the car in the above goes up steps and crashed through a sign (getting air time and landing).

The the V trailer, the way the car spins when it falls off the truck at 0:51 and the way the sports car that crashes at 0:56 and continues on like nothing happened, are both a little worrying, to me.

Pssh, unless your exam is within the same week, it's all cool. If it comes out in April, anyone doing college exams in May, or LC, can still play it (just get it all out of the system in a week or so).

I got GTA4 despite it being out about 4 weeks before start of my Leaving Cert, and twas grand. Finished the story in about 2 days, spent another few doing random crap and blowing things up, and had the urge to play it out of my system.

At least for people like me, not getting it would just be torture.

Me too, It looks very exagerated. Realistically the car wouldnt turn so quick because of the forward momentum. Its got me worried too.

The cars look sweet, especially the "Aston DB5" at 0:53. Not sure about the physics but I trust Rockstar.

As do I, But it has me humming and hawing. They have said they are trying to make the game more "Fun", I just hope that doesnt reflect too much on the driving.

I wouldn't be too worried about it, yet anyway. It's only a cinematic trailer so who knows if the games physics engines was even used when rendering it.

If the handling is similar to Need for Speed then the game will be instantly ruined for me. I can't see them making such extreme changes though tbh.

The two of you are getting worked up too easily

If you watch any cut scenes from GTA IV missions,(the scenes in the trailer look like cut scenes as far as I'm concerned) the driving isn't really all that different.

I reckon the driving is a lot different to what we saw in the trailer. Just tweaked a bit.

In terms of excitement, I'm at GTAIV levels of excitement right now. And I got that game the day after I got summer holidays, and proceeded to log 120 hours gameplay in a week...

So yeah, I am excite!

I'd agree, that the NFS driving would ruin the game for me. If they do that they may aswell put LA Noire driving physics on a few random vehicles. At least that way it'd be funny.


Hopefully what they meant to say was that they're looking for a middle ground, but it didn't sound like Houser was very impressed with IV at all.

I was originally planning on getting a PS3 and GTA on release, now im almost pushing towards just seeing if i can rent it first for a day for my brothers 360 and see if it's worth the money. Would hate to spend a couple of hundred euro on a console and game and be put off it as soon as I turn it on.

Guys, i am at work and cant access any gaming sites here. I am dying to know what the trailer was all about !! Can someone tell me what they showed in the trailer? I wont get home untill 10 Pm and i am dying to find out !
