Whoever does the team talk to motivate the players (if they should need to be motivated at all) before they leave the dressingroom should walk or be pushed because last Saturday he clearly wasn't up to it, and not for the first time.
I have seen a lot worse Arsenal sides in my time give far better displays and play with pride.

That has to be down to the players themselves though, if that was the issue. Who needs an external motivating force to play against Man Utd at OT. Unless it was some kind of protest by the players. In which case we are in serious trouble.

I agree but there was something wrong last Saturday and nobody can deny that.
Even Ferguson hinted at it when he said he had expected a much tougher battle.
It was just not good enough but you know what, it wasn't the first time we saw that kind of watery display in the last few years.

my dad thinks that arsenal do not travel well and always travel on the day of there game making them fatique at kick off.

instead if them traveling the night before staying in a hotel and relax before the game, they pretty much wake up 5am and make there way to the game

    Seriously, cop on people.

Good way to minimize everyones posts, no one said Wenger is ONLY concerned with finances but its fact he does seem to be the only manager who constantly harps on about balancing the books, do you ever hear for example Ferguson at United talk about there finances? No you dont because the books is not a managers concern in any way shape or form his job is to focus on the team he puts out on the field not the books.

What you say is true the players themselves should be raring to go for a match against United at Old Trafford but for some reason instead the heads are down, we look nervous, we are a shambles on the pitch, something is not right we almost have a defeatist attitude and this has to fall on the coaching.

Any team news yet lads? Also am I the only one who reckons Mannone deserves to keep his place in goal even if Chesney is fit?

yes there was definitely some up last week - whatever was going on was compounded by RVP's goal after 2 minutes. Where it came from i don't know and I hope we return to the attitude that saw us beat Liverpool and West Ham and dominate against City.

So Arteta to take the Wilshere role and Coquelin to be Arteta....

: Mannone, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Coquelin, Arteta, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski, Giroud

Here here to that one we badly need a return to form, the players need to lift there heads and start playing. Im not overly optimistic but by jasus id be delighted if we had a great game today :).

Just thinking if Walcott wasnt starting we would have a serious lack of pace to the team, a thing weve always had in abundance right throughout our starting XI over previous years. Hopefully Cazorla plays on the left and we go with Podolski up top alongsige Giroud, the players we have is crying out for a 4-4-2 formation.

I think Giroud will actually be a big success at Arsenal.
I'm so confident i'm going to have 100e on him to score tomorrow. I think he's starting to settle in now.
    Jackpot.

    Jackpot.

Double the odds because he scored twice if you done it in PP

Just a disgrace, this team are awful. Pathetic Wenger

I only find it fair that he missed the penalty.

Regardless of results, this team needs a really powerful shock.

At least Giroud got two. Shocking stuff conceding a two goal cushion all the same. Feels like February has come early this year.

There is something seriously wrong at the club at the moment that needs to be sorted the fúck out soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

No way was that a penalty, what else could he have done in that time frame to move his hand out of the way?!
Don't know what to say, I kinda hope things just get worse and worse to be honest, it's the only way I can see something permanent happening.
Delighted for Giroud though, he did well.

Won 220 euro on Giroud but we are a very poor excuse of a team.
Can't see a Top 4 for us now if we continue to play like that. Never a penalty but we were due one. They should have let Giroud take it anyway for his hat-trick.

100%, there is something going on behind the scenes, the effort and attitude of this lot is the worst ever. We are not getting Top 4 this season

Should have let Giroud take it...Arteta had 0 confidence after his worst performance ever for Arsenal, Giroud on a hat trick..
