lol Wanyama would strenghten any team in Europe, Barca included, he is better than Song IMO and last night was further eveidence of that, Celtic have a better keeper than Arsenal and at least three left backs better than Santos. Gary Hooper would be a far better option that either of Chamak or Arshavin and Tony Watt is a huge prospect, alot of EPL fans have a very elitist mindset with regard to the SPL and with very little basis.
    Wanyama, agree is excellent.
Forster is not better than Chez, he has had a good start to the season but he is not better than Chez, I've see a lot of Forster and Chez and the later has more potential and ability for me.
My local under 10 team has 3 left backs better than Santos
Hooper is great goal scorer and I wouldnt argue he'd score some goals but at best he would be on par with the 'current' Arshavin and Chamak
Watt is an excellent prospect have been really impressed with him this year. Forrester too has the potential to be a top draw player if he can get injury and form right.

Looks like Diaby's injury is being measured in Pluto time. He got the dreaded "3 weeks" about a month and a half ago. Himself and Rosicky must have eloped.

No Scottish team in the CL last year, Rangers getting schooled for a couple of years before that? There is a basis for thinking the SPL is poor.

I don't disagree on your points about those players but Celtic would be a mid table team in the EPL imo. They're the only team in the top flight above Npower championsip level. The SPL is a poor league.

Putting in a great performance (and it was great) in Europe is not the same as being consistent for a whole league season.

Think I may have been taken up wrongly here, I never ever compared the standard of the SPL to the EPL as an entire entity, that would be just silly, what I was talking about was fans of English teams automatically dismissing players ability and potential because they play in the SPL. Everton have done pretty well taking players from the SPL and they are currently doing better than us.

Soups: I think Forster is defitely on a par with Scezney, one slight area of concern would be he's kicking from the ground, something I'm sure can be worked on, 6'7in and 24 I think he is the real deal tbh, and not just basing that on the two Barca games he has been outstanding for Celtic for 15 months now.

We all agree that Santos is muck, my real point is Matthews is a very very good player and young and versatile, and a fully fit Izziguaire is a tremendous asset, he has been watched by united on a number of accasions.

Personally I think Hooper is streets ahead of Chamak and tbh Hooper deserves a call up to the english squad which I predict will happen once he proves he's fitness, it was strongly rumoured he was going to be in this squad but injury prevented it.

So it took him 6 weeks to get through the first week of injury. We are slow healers at Arsenal. He will be back by February at that rate.

I find scezney overated now i know hes young and has the potential to be very good but at the moment im not hes biggest fan his passing is below par decision making also below par his diving is decent but de gea hart Vorm al habsi krul all better keepers imo and celtics forster is a better all rounder to be fair!
Scezney prob has the biggest improvment potential but will he fill it? Last season he done little to prove to me hes improving?
He got sent off in euros and injured this season so will be interesting to see how he finishes the season
He is better than mannone though:)

Al Habsi is a decent shot-stopper, and he gets a fair bit of practice so he'd want to be. Krul and Vorm aren't a patch on him. De Gea's shot stopping and distribution are excellent, but his dealing with crosses and presence isn't a patch on Szczesny's. Hart is an all round top class GK so I don't think anyone would dispute with you on that one.

Worth noting as well that he's hardly played a game all season, so pulling him apart while he's not even playing is a bit harsh. His composure on the ball (although some of the risky stuff can leave your heart in your mouth)and passing are usually very good as well in my opinion, once Sagna's there to win the long ones.

My thinking last season was to bring in another goalkeeper just to keep him on his toes but man united are doing that now and i think its destroyed de gea's confidence!
Scezneys not the best in the league but hes not miles behind to be fair so its not worth spending 10million on a replacement i guess!

Any news of who might be coming going in january guys?

it's all down to Walcott - if he leaves then I imagine a replacement will be sought. You can never be too sure though.....

I can imagine him leaving if a big club offers him a nice deal he would suit united as much as it makes me sick to say!ha

We need a goalscorer fast demba ba or dzeko off the top of my head?

Id live to see him come into his own but giroud is looking like a future benchwarmer at the moment:(

I think Giroud will actually be a big success at Arsenal.
I'm so confident i'm going to have 100e on him to score tomorrow. I think he's starting to settle in now.

    Hes 11/10 anytime goalscorer

Arsenal to win and giroud to score anytime is 7/4

Just Giroud to score anytime will do. Fulham have frustrated us several times recently.

Eastmond and Yennaris on £750 while Miquel is £9,250 grand better off despite playing less first team games than the first two? Me ar$E

Don't like these unfounded articles - "mate of a mate" stuff

Yes there are quite a few of those doing the rounds.

Fulham a tough side now, so hard to call. Not over confident with the Gunners at the minute. I agree Giroud appears a bit better now. Good luck with your bet.

So Sterling wants 50k a week to stay at Liverpool and Walcott's apparenty looking for 90k - perhaps we should do a swap deal ?

I'm fed up of young, talented players full of potential! I think Walcott is very underrated, I'd hate to lose him!

Me too - all those years feeding and watering the sapling. Now it's ready to bear fruit and we hand it over to one of the neighbours to put in their garden!

I would be amazed if Walcott stays. How many players who've entered the last year of their contract at Arsenal in recent years have ever stayed? None I can think of.

+ we've been playing him in a position he is not comfortable with. He is a striker and nothing else. Since Henry we havent had that type of player who can hammer the last man. Fact is Arsene Wenger is now managing Arsenal against logic and the 'financial situation' is just an excuse. If we are the attacking team he thinks we are then he would play Giroud and Walcott/Podolski up front (perhaps even one of Walcott/Pod just behind) Instead he wants to go against the grain.

Im starting to wonder is his ego gone totally out of control. Arsenal were defending solidly the first 3 or 4 games but now we've reverted to type A.

If players cant psyche themselves up to play Man United then i have to wonder about the future of Arsene Wenger. We often beat them with sh*t teams or at least went down trying. Unfortunately Wenger seems untouchable and the club will continue to suffer while he fails to adapt to the situations around him.

    +1.

    Play him up front

These two games in particular he showed what he is capable of
