There's also a fantastic one of a girl who went through chernobyl on a motorbike. Her dad was a professor if I recall correctly. She had a geigometer or whatever they're called with her constantly and most of the time it was below safe levels. Fantastic pictures and commentary

Edit, it was this woman http://www.kiddofspeed.com/

i was born in 1986 march... one month later - boom! :(

The worst thing is: i grew up in enviroment, which looks indentical to that town. all towns looked similar in soviet and post soviet countries. Even the desks and chairs in school looked same way in chernobyl and in my school. very damn creepy.

    Oh right...

Still not as funny as the road like that I was driving down.... and came across a speed sign advising me that someone in the CoCo office had determined it was perfectly safe for me to go along it at 80kph or so.

I had one of them about 8 years ago. Was the 2.8 Quattro though in British Racing Green. Animal thing to go and cornered like it was on rails. Loved that car.

Funny enough for an older Audi it gave me zero heartache.

Any clue about them 2.0ltrs? I'd say it'd be big money to get a clean quattro? Would be a sweet car though I drove a quattro before it was sublime! Donno what it is about that car just looks real nice I'm sick of my a4 every Tom dick and Harry has one now with stupid kits on them so I'd like something nice and stripped back but still nice to drive! I have a bora for a runabout but I'd like to be able to use it as a runabout!

Never driven the 2ltr, FWD wouldn't interest me either.

Mine looked just like this only it had a cream leather interior and walnut dash:

i needed to swap it anyway. i am here for 7-8 years and still had EU license. ( in theory i should be grand, but by law i had to change my driving license ages ago ). So i am on holidays, so i decided to sort it out now. Plus my license was almost broken in two too.

anyway, i am happy as one more thing is out of the way. now just get my hands on one of those irish passports and i am sorted :p

Just to make a lad feel mighty inadequate! What a beauty! That's seriously cool! I know cool sounds gimpy but it's all that fits the car I think! Any idea if there are any nice ones lying around wouldn't mind having to do a little work on it!

Are you taking Movember to an extreme?

Must book NCT, you've reminded me :)

    Movember?
    Pfft, I don't own a razor. :pac:

I've either no washer bottle or a leak in my washer bottle, I'm guessing I'll fail on this?

So you have no way of cleaning the windscreen?

    That shall be a fail.

The pipes on it could be blocked?

Yeah, the rain has kept it clean but other than that it's dirty.
It's not blocked, I poured about a liter into the bottle(?) and I ended up with all that water on my drive.

Take it out and see if you can see where the leak is coming from?

Yeah, I'll have a pop at that at some stage tomorrow I reckon.
    Hopefully it's just something disconnected.

Christmas and NCTing should never go together, not to mention taxing and insuring too. :(

Anyone know if the Astra h van came with the 1.7dti engine at all? Or was it only the cdti?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,321 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

That wasn't mine but it looked damn close bar the S2 badge. Was a 2.8 n/a as opposed to the 2.2 turbo in the S2. Regret ever getting rid of it - I would buy it back in the morning if it came up for sale.
