What way do ye install those interior lights? Id love to put some footwell lights into my VW cc. Im aware id need VAG-COM to activate the lights once installed (hoping I can find a good Samaritan locally to save me a few hundred) but what else is required? Struggling to find any decent guides to give me some idea where to begin.

Closest ive found is this, but it lacks some detail (and images).

That link pretty much covers it.
Yes you will need vcds to activate it after. This is a job I plan on doing with the Octy as well.

Not sure if you can read this or not but here is a list of Vag Com owners
    http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=41765

Considering buying it myself to be honest.

Yeah, spotted that list. I'll do my research first before I go requesting someone's hardware. Spotted I'm missing an interior door panel reflector on the drivers side today. Might be an idea to replace them all with those lights that shine down on the ground when the doors open.

I went out and bought another track slag.

    60635_10151172382663682_189385934_n.jpg

Now. You'd think, what the heck good is that ? People just underestimate Volvos.

This little baby is RWD, rear transaxle transmission, has a 1.7l carb Renault engine with 82 bhp and weighs approx 950 kg before stripping.

I also bought a Renault 19 16v a few days ago, which will be used as engine donor. That means, I'm going from 82 bhp to around 150 bhp as the R19 isn't stock (Williams manifold, K&N induction kit and a few other extra bits on there).

    /M

I did this to my sisters car over the weekend, the lights were very faded looking.

    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

    Half way through:

Had some Autoglym Paint Renovator at home so I said I'd give them a scrub with it and clean them and it improved the lights no end.

Will it last does anyone know or will they yellow/fade again? Anything that can be done to keep them clear?

Bill, great job! Others have used Autosol metal polish for the same job.

If you want it to stay like that you could lacquer them but that's a process involving getting ALL silicone off them in order for it to adhere properly. Once you do it though, they should stay good as the plastic itself won't be exposed to the elements.

Hmm, i'll give it a few weeks and see if they have gotten worse! She said there was a big improvement with the lights at night too, def something worth doing :)
