    Cheers man

About 10 minutes altogether between soldering the 501, and affixing the led strip to the inside..its essentially plug and play

the 501 connector was a spare I had from the interior dome led light

    [...]
    Well done! :D

I've very similar solution in my car, but used self adhesive (and thinner) strips. Will upload photos later.

Or if you are just willing to solder on the required connective leads here's 5 Metres for €10 delivered. You can cut every 3 LED's and it has pads for soldering on wires. It is also already backed with 3M sticky tape.

I vacuumed, polished the interior plastics, cleaned all the interior of the windows and washed three cars and power hosed underneath them and the wheel arches. And put a car cover on one of them. Almost 5 hours work and was glad to see the end of it!

You did all that in 5 hours??? Get out and finish what you started :P

Shut up! :p I can honestly say my two cars were the quickest to do as they are cleaned every weekend but the other car is the wife's and she couldn't give a fiddle if I cleaned it next week or next year and also she works a lot of saturday's so there can be a gap between cleaning hers!

    Changed my plugs today

    Changed wipers for some aeros

New set of wheels with rainsport 2's

    foqgau.jpg

I have to say I'm enjoying doing bits and bobs on this car in comparison to my Fn2 civic which just felt to good to fiddle with as opposed to the toyota that just wants to burn holes in your pocket!

Got my car coded today and fitted a hid Non canbus 4300k kit

Also ticked box for LED Number plate bulbs. This turned off the warning light on the dash,so no need for soldering on other bulbs or anything.

Also changed from Dims to Fogs as CH/LH

Also set Fogs as cornering lamps

    Lamps removed for fitting

Heated seats install...took the passenger seat out yesterday...and fitted the pads, this evening switch mounted and thats that till the weekend, when I'll put on some sound proofing while the seats are at.

I tested the seat with a 12v cisco adapter, and it heats quite slowly but thats due to the fact its putting out less then 1amp and the instructions say it needs 10a continuous...nice to check its working though

    img1622custom.jpg

I thought this was part of the seat moulding, but its actually the origninal box for the toyota radio facia

    img1625custom.jpg

    img1626custom.jpg

Lacking in photos...ill document the drivers seat better

Seat base cover off and pad installed.

    img1632custom.jpg

    ...and the decided switch location

Great work! Even at full draw, they take a good few minutes to heat up, they aren't as fast as factory seats. Still, once up to temperature they'll burn the cheeks off ya.

Got it aligned in WKD in Carlow. It wasn't out by much at all, front was perfect just the rear needed a slight adjustment.

Ordered a few parts for the CC
    2X 1K0 947 411 A (1K0947411A) - Door Warning Light
    2X 1J0 971 972 (1J0971972) - Connector Housing
    2X 000 979 019 (000979019) - Repair Wire for Connector Housing
    2X 000 979 009 (000979009) - Repair Wire

All in the name of putting in door warning lights.
    volkswagen_golf_door_warnng_light_finished_03-300x225.jpg

Searched all over trying to find parts, assuming VW themselves would be awful expensive. Eventually sourced everything from 2 sites, coming to about £50, but said id ring VW just to check it out. €42 ex-vat, and they'll hopefully be in by Friday. Happy days.

Ive earmarked the 24th to get my hands dirty.

Ironic seeing as you can change an engine without breaking a sweat ;)

I should have added I was just about to go home for lunch and was in the Tesco car park... Nice to find that out when you're hungry!

2 minutes isn't bad despite that mishap :)

Need a new set of locknuts for my alloys as one of the nuts is slightly damaged.

Ford dealership in galway saying a new set is 75 quid, every other motor factor saying 35. Easy decision tbh

Aren't the ford ones just mcGards?

Fronts. Though I think the rear is the same fitting. Not 100% sure about the pins in the rear though. Tbh, I'm not 100% sure about which pin to connect to in the front either. A guide I found suggests 2 different pins.
