Passenger headlight has developed condensation/moisture inside.Bad enough that my xenon flickers off after about 30 seconds. It would be today I only notice this as I'm back on nights now and won't see enough sunlight to attempt to fix it til next week.

Front bumper will have to come off for me to access the bulbs and hopefully dry out the headlight to sort it.As long I don't require a new headlight/ballast I'll be happy. :)

does the bumper have to come off each time to change bulbs or is this just to access the fixtures etc ?

I had this problem with the rear lights on the RX8. It was a common problem and required an upgraded gasket which helped but didn't fully solve the problem.

You should use epoxy or something like that to re-seal any shut lines on it or anywhere you think moisture can get in.

I haven't had to change one yet but it can be done by just jacking up the car and removing the wheel and gaining access that way.I'll have to take off the bumper to remove the headlight and dry it out and fix whatever is causing the problem in the first place.

That's the idea anyway, will just need a somewhat dry day and some sunlight. :)

are they trying to make bulbs harder to change in New cars ?

I'm near sure I have to go behind my front wheels to change the indicator bulb.

and to change the back indicator bulbs you have to take through unit off the rear side of the car that holds the indicator bulb and one brake bulb.

I suppose they expect us to go back to a main dealer each time we need the smallest things done

The reason headlight bulbs are harder to get at is due to car design in relation to making the front of cars safer if they hit a pedestrian and also for better aerodynamics.

Old renault megane would be a good example

Doesn't matter where. They wouldn't last 5 minutes here before somebody cracks them or burns them :)

Speed cameras are put in locations where accidents are known to happen. If my voice was horse from saying this in real life, it must be getting the same in forums. If you want to speed where people have crashed, go on ahead, you deserve to get caught.

God almighty, can't people see that if you want to drive at high speed, there are plenty of safer ways you can do it?

Go on a holiday to Germany, for example, instead of pissing about on ****ty Irish roads.

Maybe there's some positives to the country being skint after all ! :P Considering most of our static network don't work half the time, I can't see these things being much of a threat for a while yet.

Didn't take long for the highhorse brigade to appear.

So you've never sped, ever? Never once? Slipped over by a few k?

If you say yes, then why post the above and if you say no, then you're lying.

High horse? No, I wouldn't say I'm on one. What I was expressing is my frustrations that people think that there is people out to get them speeding, when it shouldn't be done in the first place in those areas since they're known for crashes.

Weather (sp?) or not I have gone over the speed limit is something that would be foolish to admit on a public forum, don't you think?

Why? Pretty much everyone speeds at one stage or another I know I have and do.

Before my granny stopped driving, she racked up 6 penalty points for speeding in her Renault 5 :D

Well. Here is the issue. Every time, somebody wants to build a drift/track/outdoor carting tracks, a bunch of neighbors object to the planning application. Because

I used work in HP, and there was someone there who racked up twelve points in a week not realising there was a sixty limit on part of the N4!

I hate this one and I rarely ever use it because of my dislike for it, but... lol.

Exactly, because of what they see as boy racers hanging around. If i win the euromillions in the morning i would make 1-2 circuits in the middle of nowhere and see how it went. They have it easy in the UK from all the old unused airfields from ww2

I've said this before - it's an awful pity we were neutral during WWII :D

(Easy to say now I know :o)

    Got home today.

Oh informs me with a shifty look in his eyes, that he has been driving the alfa (which is perfectly ok) but that a "funny red light" came on "last night"

    It's the engine management light.

It was low on fuel, took it to the petrol station and fed it, and the light went off.

We weren't really neutral at all at all ;)

I know of a track in the middle of nowhere, that has been build as carting track. Application for a retention (and expansion) to drifting has been made. Neighbors still objected to the planning application EVEN though it's in the middle of nowhere and no harm to anybody.

In bogger Ireland even neighbors 20 km away object because it could increase the traffic from 2 cars a day to 5 near their house.
