I thought it was a sunshine "ping", just like in all those robot animes

I reckon there's an R&A forum somewhere and we can find Atavans doppelganger there, probably talking about his friends seeing his own double... lying under a pile of empty Captain Morgans bottles.
Perhaps we all have doubles there! Let me know what they'll be like and what differences there'll be!
Perhaps in this universe I thought the Sega Dreamcast was naff and my favourite system of all time is the 3DO... could you imagine?!

Reminded me of Ironman with the light coming out of his chest. Although it could also be the fictional nature of both characters. :pac:

    What!!!
Iron Man is real, I've met him in person so don't be spreading your lies around here dude.
He might be surprisingly short of stature but he exists.

    Mandatory hipster post:

Tetsuo The Iron Man > Iron Man. Tetsuo has a chest cannon, Iron Man has a ****ty light. And Tetsuo has a drill where there shouldn't be drills.

Iron man/Iron Giant>Tetsuo The Iron Man > Iron Man
Seeing as he's 100ft tall, indestructible, sounds like Vin Diesel and is actually the original Iron Man (renamed for the rather excellent animated film a few years back so that there wouldnt be a thousand"Y R hE not T0ny Strk? L0L111eleventyone" letters from angry yet illiterate 10 year olds...)

I still have my old VHS of that movie somewhere in the house. Came with a copy of the original Iron Man novel and a figure of the Giant.

Very ambitious kickstarter from the pier solar devs. Not really interested in the hd artwork but I'll probably throw in $15 for the digital version. If they included the original version too though I'd definitely put down money for the dreamcast version.

Iron Giant is magnificent, I have had it on VHS and now on Dvd, must look for it on Blu.
It's wonderful, great cast and an impressive combination of a classic 50's/60's drawing style coupled with the modern scifi awesomeness of his transformation into a very big and bad gun.
    ...
Now I need to watch it again!

Oh, Vin Diesel saying "Superman"? Probably should have won the Oscar for that one line!
Makes grown men tear up.... or so I heard... somewhere....

Dinorex or anyone else try out that pid game on Gog? Looks like a platform puzzler type affair, very nice aesthetic to it.

I think it's still awaiting a Blu-Ray release. Which is a bit weird as I'm sure it would sell pretty well.
I've a 720p version of it here from a HDTV source and it looks nice but a full 1080p Blu-Ray would be very nice indeed.

    Edit:
Actually it is out on Blu-Ray.

Again? What thread were you reading that prompted an earlier exchange of trousers?

It's totally been "Atavan Flirts With Man"-esque awkwardness around here today.

So, Under Defeat HD, when is it due out?
    Should be soon shouldn't it?
Looking forward to it, tons of extras with the limited edition they are launching.,

Have they announced that for Europe, yet? I'd rather go the physical route with this.

    My MD is misbehaving.
I flick the switch to 60hz and everything goes black and white.
I tried every av input but no joy.
Could it be my av cable?
    It's not fair!
Also, colours in SMB3 are all off, famicom edition, same as the Pal version on the same console. I wonder if anyone might know why?

Well, I see Under Defeat HD on psn right now, a little steep at €40, probably pick it up as a physical copy instead for the same money. Okami HD is there too, only €20.

    What cables are you using?

If they're not RGB, then you're sending an NTSC 60Hz signal to your TV - most PAL CRTs have a problem with this and display in black and white.

How to get around it? RGB 60Hz. It does away with all that PAL/NTSC sillyness.

Another reason why RGB is godly.

    Ah I see.
I was put off by a few images of the bluray packaging on google search.
So my 720p HDTV rip is about the best there is at the moment, which is sad :(

Yes, but I'm playing it on the mighty Sony Trini, so it should do just fine, plus my NTSC Famicom and Super Nintendo work just fine on the telly, so what gives brother?

    He discovers he can fly

And probably my favourite bit of an animated, if not any, movie ever,

And, even though we are not supposed to be rooting for the Iron Giant as a weapon of mass destruction, he still looks pretty darn cool!
