I was stung by a bogus bidder also, see here. The only thing you can do is use the eBay Resolution Center. You will need to do this otherwise eBay will charge you there max amount for sellers fees, approx Eur200 for a Eur1200 bid, at the end of the month. It takes 7 days to get it sorted.

It is other ebay sellers that are selling similar items to yours, that are setting up bogus accounts and bidding on auctions they have no intention of paying for. Essentially, they're eliminating the competition.

This is not a new thing and eBay are doing next to nothing to stop it. It's a dirty practice.

Interesting, never would of thought of that. So did you not sell your game in the end? Or did you offer it to next in line?

I'm afraid it didn't sell and it was not offered to next in-line. I did get the fees back though. I am going to leave it off for a while before re-listing it, my faith in eBay has been damaged by this incident. Although the fees have been returned to me, it is the amount of time that has been wasted that is the most annoying part.

Really sneaky and annoying thing to be doing if true.

Inflating the price on their own items as well.

Here is a link to an article in the eBay "Review and Guides" section that goes back to 2009. Nothing has changed since.

Ebay could at least make it a little less easier to open a new account. Any one of us could set up a new account right now and have an auction spoiled in less than 5/10 minutes.

I discovered a method of doing this by accident, or at least getting the most out of the last bidder. I was selling a mobile phone on Ebay. The bids were at €50, the exact figures are hazy so I'm using estimates from here on in. A bidder with a zero feedback score made quite a large bid bringing the auction up to €76. I smelled a rat because of the zero feedback, I checked there profile page and it stated that they had just joined eBay 10 minutes ago, so I cancelled their bid. That brought the bidding back down to €50.

This got me thinking. The previous bidder was willing to go as high as €75. I shouldn't know this. So If I had a second account, I could put in a bid of €74, thus getting the most out of what the previous bidder was willing to pay instead of €50.

I go for the cheap drink and the music!

Although the €1 shots contain sambuca. The taste of regret.

You must be getting better though Atavan, no drunken posts alluding to spilt drink and lost love, and few vowels and misplaced consonants...

I am seriously building up an immunity to alcohol! Had 1 pint, 1 shot, 1 bottle of smirnoff ice and 4 bottles of kopparberg last night and wasn't even buzzed.

Quick question that some of you may know. I went to turn on the 360 there and noticed the play and charge kit wasn't working. Pulled it out of the controller and noticed one of the pins on it was bent back. Went digging at it with a little pocket knife and bent it somewhat back into shape, enough to make a connection. Just wondering that since I was probably scratching the connection with a knife will this cause it to short out or anything? seems to be working fine now.

By the way, I didn't know Christ shot laser beams out of his chest now. Church seems to have changed somewhat in the years since I've been.

That's not Christ, it's his brother Judas, don't worry, it's a common mistake!

You better go and fire proof your home... that controller will short-circuit and cause a white hole to develop in your front living room.

    That or you'll be grand...

thought I saw o1s1n myself there one Sunday weeks ago when Retr0 was bringing me to the bus, he was the spit him with a bubble bobble tee, walking under where the bridge for the dart, himself will tell you which one. If he's o1s1n's doppelganger and he meets him, he'll die

I don't own a Bubble Bobble tee. Kinda wish I did though :(

I guess I could kill my doppelganger and steal his shirt! Or wear his skin. Although I guess I'm doing that as is.

I reckon there's an R&A forum somewhere and we can find Atavans doppelganger there, probably talking about his friends seeing his own double... lying under a pile of empty Captain Morgans bottles.
Perhaps we all have doubles there! Let me know what they'll be like and what differences there'll be!
