It's funny, because I got that smell yesterday and it's the first time in a long time that I actually got the smell.

In the garage I used to work in, the ajoined petrol used to have the pumps washed down on a regular basis.

I hear ye..it stuck to my hands so much so that scrubbing hard it was still there...used to keep a large supply of those one use gloves I lifted from some forecourt like esso for filling up!

I just like the idea of having a car van as a daily driver and the ST safe at home as a weekend car. Maybe im turning into my dad, the whole insurance process seems very overcomplicated though

I drove one of those back from Donegal, mighty car. Miser on juice and there was actually plenty of power.

The 1.3 engine in the Astra punto is not as bad as people think it is to drive. My Astra is a 1.3 cdti 90 bhp and you'd be suprised to drive it. It is a little slow on take off I'll admit but other than that if you floor it the van has no problem in moving and the 6 speed gearbox is great. Tips along the motorway at 2100 rpm cant even hear the engine. Mine does 54mpg on average. Although some of the puntos were only 75 bhp 5 speed but not sure. Although with the best will in the world you will not Buy either with a 1.3 engine for 2 k as the engine is only out a few years.

Just to follow up on this and something that I was rather unfortunately reminded of once again yesterday:

Every time I go to the hairdresser they give me a f**king car magazine to read. :(

    It's like they're mocking me.

Didn't realise you were a lady. Makes the borderline car dislike more believable.

Still not sure why you're here though. :pac:

Reading stuff like this makes me die a bit inside :(

Still could be worse. They could give you a cold shower or a bad haircut instead....

I was at a table quiz last night, One f the questions was, "What car maker makes the Omega?" I put down Vauxhall, I got it wrong. The answer was Opel, I see how opel was right. But Vauxhall was also right. It really pi$$ed me off...

They're sold as Opel here and Holden In Aus, if you were in Brittain I'd say they'd had given it to ya but they were obviously looking for Opel in Ireland. Haha

Ah I've had awefull arguments over pub quizzes.
One of them was, "What's the most common deises in the world, the thick lump running it had it down as the common cold. Wrong, that's a virus. I won that in the end. :p

But was it not originally Vauxhall that made the omega? The farmer calling out the question never said if it had to be an Irish term. :D

Haha, but this just pi$$ed me off so much.

Ah no I didn't, I never heard of the Opel Omega... I always thought it was the Vauxhall Omega, that was why I wrote down Vauxhall for the answer...

Correct answer would be that its not built any more.

Aso vauxhall called their original omega the Carlton.

Once upon a time Vauxhall called their cars one name and the exact same car had a different name under the Opel brand.

Given that this is a motors thread, guess we should also recognise the Lotus Carlton which was a tuned version of the Omega/Carlton good versions of which go for 30k even at 20 years old.

Came across this gti on a uk site,
I think its absolutely perfect and subtle and this is what i pictured mine being like when im done modding it!

    Opinions please, yay/nay?!

I know the wheels aren't what you would normally see on a gti, but i think they look great and less common is better right! :p
