Well everyone chooses his own path. He loves to be a nerd and fair ****s to him. I personally hate traveling, so does he. Different people different ways of living.
As for why 4x680? Because he can. Some people waste money on water cooling, he wasted on over kill amount of gpus. ;)

Haven't asked about his ssd. He was always praising osz ssd's, but thx **** he listened to me and god proper Samsung one.

Should he have gotten two SSDs? You use up a 256GB fast in fairness. Makes a lot more sense than other parts.

I am prety sure it's going to be 512gb. I'll ask him next time he is on vent. Still though, he pretty much plays only wow ( I know ), so it's not like he needs 5 million terabyte of space.

    3 x Catleaps @ 7680 x 1440 (excluding bezel correction) and a decent frame rate for example.

    Beautiful build.

    How many could you actually run? 6 @ 7680 x 4320?

That's a whole lot of graphics card.

It must just cost a fortune in electricity if nothing else.

That dude needs a kick up the arse so. I mean even two 680s would be pushing it, say if he just wanted to put a bitchin rig together as a hobby.

Its called charity, people, or investments, or deposits on a house. God damn.

Speaking of charity, anyone else doing movember? My first year this year :)

There's a slim chance 4 x 4GB680's is a bit overkill then..ffs convince him to get a few more monitors

Think the max monitors in surround is 4, 3 in landscape 3 x 1 and a 4th spot monitor.

There's a guy on ocn with Quad-Fire 7970's (on air too) running 3 x 30'' HP ZR30w's, with 60 fps max @ 7680X1600 most games with settings at max.

Thing is 3 x 7970's/680's would be more than enough for 60 fps, 4 cards is epeen territory. :)

    The holy grail for me would be 3 x 30" IPS in eyefinity/surround @ 7680 x 1440 and 120 hz..then the 4 x 680's 4GB VRAM would be needed for sure.

Thinking about it, though the GF thinks that a 6ft 1 skinhead with a moustache would look a bit suspect..

You should swap one of them out for a ringer the next time you visit, he'd never even notice ;)

I hope he can return those... SLI 690s scale much better than four 680s, use less power and look ten times better.

I'll take this over that any day. :)

If you have all graphics settings up full will it run slower than if you have all graphics down low, regardless of hardware?
How much of an effect does the quality of the graphics have on how much bandwith you use?
I'm just wondering because my computer can now run Crysis at full blast but my internet is no better.

Also, I installed a new OS. Would it be easier to just download all the programs again (VLC, WinRAR, that sort of thing) or is there some way to transfer them over from my old C drive?

You can use ninite.com for bulk installs, but I tend to just do it manually, as Ninite will use default settings for everything.

Graphics dont go down the pipe. All that goes over dots is information about player location, direction, what gun is equipped, if its firing etc. Graphics are all processed on the viewers comp.

Does that mean anything or is it just random hitting of the keyboard to get a post as fast as possible? :pac:

What does PS2 stand for anyway?
