    What a bargain :D.

Seriously, what is wrong with some people? First of all, it's a marketplace where people buy goods for under the RRP (they are mostly second-hand, after all) so why do people like this guy try to sell a GTX 550ti for nearly €300?!?

"Very massive graphic card". Umm,... yeah.

Surely that's a typo. The 2 isn't supposed to be there. Yep, that makes sense. Offer €50 for it.

If these people are concerned about time wasting, they should have more reasonable prices. Or maybe it's too much time and effort.

Judging by his ramshackle tense usage I would say he is one of dem dodgy immigants taking our jerbs and trying to rip us off. No offence meant to the non-dodgy variety of course :D

Had a root about and all I can are the following bits:

    20121028_161156.jpg

The pin outs are wrong, as I used one of the female molex' that came with it for something else when I was sleeving my cables, but I also have a spare molex connector and a few other bits that you can use to make a proper Molex > 6 pin connector from.

I'm in Dublin cc tomorrow afternoon, and you're more than welcome to the above bits & pieces.

Ouch, I had to buy a 3.5 to 2.5 inch drive bay adapter there in an emergency once and I can still barely talk about it.

They really are the most gormless bunch of 'tech' staff I've ever encountered.

On a plus note my 200 euro Steambox is up and running now :D

    Intel Celeron G530 2.4ghz - €36
    Asrock H61M-HVS - €42
    4GB Patriot RAM - €14
380 Chieftec PSU (had no damn PCIe conn) €20
Palit GTS450 (it's an energy efficient one!) €65
    LB 2019 mATX case €20

Topped with a spare 250GB HDD I had. I'm not intending on using a DVD drive as I want to use it as a Steambox next to my TV, for Steam big picture. I made some scripts that will autolaunch ROMs from emulators and such, so it should be quite awesome. Only doing benchmark testing on it this evening, so happy days.

Will post up benchmarks during the week for anyone interested.

Argos. The bigger ones stock furniture like that and as long as you arent too weedy you'll be able to hoof it home no bother.

    Uh oh :(

I am starting to get hangs; lots of little green rectangles appear on screen and whatever I am doing hangs/crashes. It first happened when I tried following this guide while playing RAGE to make it look better http://segmentnext.com/2011/10/07/rage-tweak-guide-graphics-and-performance/ I booted up the game, noticed no difference but when I went to talk to an NPC the green rectangles appeared and the game froze so I deleted the config file I made. Unusually one of the extra options that it enabled within RAGE has not dissapeared in the menus. But today, the same green rectangle crash happened when I was just using Steam Big Picture. What has happened? :( Is it a hardware or software problem? Is it fixable? I'm not overclocking, and am running an i7 with a 2GB 660ti.

Update your drivers anyway. You may need to reinstall the game.

Could be the card getting faulty.

I presume we are talking about artifacts in game?

I won't say anything to to what mono said:

    1. Update drivers
    2. Reinstall game.
    3. take out gpu check for dust, pop sucker in.
    4. Check all games and environments to roll out specific program's where it happens. If not you will know that gpu itself is acting out.

  • Site Banned Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Andy!!

I'll get new drivers but since it also happened in an unrelated program (Steam Big Picture) I dunno if it's just RAGE. God I hope it's not a hardware issue :( Only put the unit together last week but I'll have a check for dust anyways.

Double check the connections on the PSU as well, that they're secure.

    Your Monitor too.

Arent they interchangeable? As in any SATA cable will do SATA3 speeds?

Yep there is no such thing as SATA I/II/III cables its all the same.

In my experience Peats would be the one of the few places in town where you won't get overcharged at least a fiver extra.

Okay.... My old 60gb corsair boot ssd is acting up like a twat... Put on food to cool and when I am back to my pc it's says: please insert boot drive... Okay.

Fast check in bios says there is nothing plugged in. No 60gb ssd at all... Opened the case, checked all the cables and turned sucker on. Booted up nice and lovely...

How much are 256gb m4 or Samsung now? I might drop that sucker out and do a clean install on on new boot ssd. My steam and stuff is on other drives, so the only thing I will need reinstall is bf3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

You should be fine with a 128GB drive. I have all my non-game applications on it, as well as BF3, and I've got ~45GB left. More space is always good however, so maybe the 256GB version couldn't hurt.

Cheaper on Dabs if you're only buying the one item. ~€100 for 128, and ~€180 for 256.

well i got 256 already as my steam one, but another 256 would be handy... though i am stuck with cash and i plan to get a new phone this year so i am a bit tight on cash. 128gb sounds handy.

I've noticed that this seems to be a problem on some Intel chipsets- disappearing SSDs. Try one of the other ports - i.e., if you're on the 3Gbps, try the 6Gbps ones.
