Is that a steel frame? Regardless that's niiiice. Cool name on the tubes too :)

EDIT love the large flange hubs and the proper spoking pattern godammit!! :D

    Yes, it's steel :)
In fact, I have 3 bikes available to me at the moment and they're all steel. Must be an age thing.
I've a few adjustments to make before I put it on the road. I've flipped and dropped the stem, but I think I'll probably have to swop for a shorter one before I'm happy. Tossed the standard pedals (which are crap) for the Keo seen in the pic. The standard tyres are Vittoria Zaffiro which I don't like. Will swap them out for Vittoria Rubino Pro, probably the black/white ones.
I'll give the Bianchi saddle a go for a week or two, but will probably replace with a white 4ZA Stratos as I find them very comfy.
    I added a 16T freewheel last night so I don't kill myself.
At some stage in the near future will probably put a bigger ring up front. Standard is a 48T. Will probably go for 50 or 52.

Does the toptube slope a little bit just off the headtube and then completely straight? Or is that just me?:pac:

Is that a 566 or 586. "Looking" at a 566 myself and thinking of going for it. How do you find it? Which SRAM groupo are you using. I am debating ultegra vs SRAM force.

566 with sram force, I love it so far, have riden focus and giant bikes in years past and this is easily the nicest bike i've had yet... great flex in the frame, doesn't accelerate as well as i used to like on the focus, it really needs a good dig on the pedals sometimes, and the handling is a lot 'faster' but once i got used to it it was fine, it climbs great and turns very neatly on descents. Not crazy about the sram double tap levers, but then i've been using shimano in various guises for years, but I'm used to it now so its not a problem.

Nah D, it's called good taste and style... :D Fully chromed, steel Italian Bianchi? Ticks all the boxes.

I heard that about the flex but for the acceleration I'm coming from a 5 yr old trek aluminium with 105 so if I get BTW sorted i will pick up a bare carbon/red one with ultegra or force (swinging towards force for a change).

    Should be a nice upgrade.

    Noice!!

I'm looking to build up a commuter, most likely a pompino, but I keep getting drawn to the on-one inbred 29er, had envisaged something almost identical to what you have created!

Hang on, let me search there for a minute, I'm sure I read somewhere - less than 24 hours ago - that you were going to commute on the BMC! Jesus you're as bad with bikes as you were with cars!

I couldn't bring myself to do it, I'd be going on walks every 5 minutes to make sure someone hasn't locked their FORCE BLAST to it, or walked away with my handlebars. Hey, at least I've hung onto the one bike for more than 3 months :p

I have this a few weeks now. A Ridley Orion 1204a - I just love it to bits - big difference for me with the compact chainring. My first carbon frame :)

Lovely bike ugsparky. :) Just one thing, the first pic shows the handlebar stem and a gap at the mounting bolts. Shouldn't the fork steerer tube not run all the way to the top, like this
    stem_threadless.jpg
It looks like a weak spot or am I missing something as per usual?

If it's only clamped by the bottom bolt, it'll be very weak!

That needs to be checked BEFORE the bike is ridden again!
