I just saw a rat in the middle of the main entrance footpath while walking to the library. Thought it was going to attack me but it ran off instead.

Further along I noticed rustling in the bushes which I'd guess were more rats. Not cool.

€10 to replace a student card which probably cost about .50c to produce and all of 10 seconds to print.

    Exploitation

 A combination of the proximity of the river and the percentage of campus-users who act like the world is their rubbish bin.

Will you report what you saw? They might up the amount of poison/bait boxes around the place.

And with that, I'm never using that path again...

Saw a rat a couple of times waiting at the bus stop outside the campus by the pitches,
    They're everywhere :P

of course they are going to be on campus, bins are usually overflowing first thing in the morning if there was something on the night before, puke could be found anywhere and rats dont care between fresh food or regurtitaged (spelling?), I have met a fair few in the last week or so, moreso on Garraun Lane, although you would expect that on a country lane.

Waiting for the bus? He probably would have been quicker walking in fairness

Waited an hour for the city bus today! What made it worse was if the bus had come when it was suppose to I would have got home an hour earlier due to a lecture finishing up early and then to top it all off the bus eireann Galway bus was late! Not a great day.

Spent about 30 mins looking for parking this morning and finally found a spot by asking a nice gentleman if he was leaving. Luckily for me he was so I followed him up to the spot, turned on my indicator and waited for the man to pull out his car. I had clearly claimed the spot until some absolute toss pot decided to take the spot because "I was here longer than you". It took so much will power not to key his car. I've seen him a few times around since this morning and I make sure I flip him off every time.

5 minutes makes a massive difference when it comes to getting parking in the morning (assuming your coming in before 9am).

I should really start walking in. I'm spending way too much on petrol during the week.

    Or cycle yea! :)

If you do drive though, if you come in at 08:20, you won't have much of a problem getting parking. If you come in at 08:30, you'll spend the next half hour looking for parking. Just need to beat the traffic basically. :pac:

That happened me once, the rage built. I was gonna key his car but was too paranoid of any cameras.

    Key it ?

Expanding foam up the exhaust pipe....car would have to be towed out of the space again :pac:

I understand your frustration, and if I were him I wouldn't have claimed what was clearly your spot, but I would never consider keying anybodies car. I think it's a pretty vile act, the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Him temporarily inconveniencing you isn't the same as you permanently damaging his property. You probably said it here in jest and perhaps weren't seriously considering it, but having seen other cars parked in UL getting keyed over my last 5 years here is pretty sickening.

Also, if you've spent up to 30 minutes looking for a parking space you've just fallen victim to the invested time fallacy. If you don't find anything within about 7 minutes, drive across the bridge and park beside the new pitches, I've always found plenty of free spaces there, and even though there's a walk back to the main campus you'd still make it there faster than if you waited for a space.

Lads, flipping the bird at someone is one thing but suggesting criminal damage is another. The world has enough twattery in it already without starting an escalating twat race. Bit of cop-on goes a long way.

Spent three hours researching a project to pitch to my lecturer.

When I pitched it to her, she stopped me after only around 20seconds and said it was a bit vague and to consider another topic.

Seven classmates later, a mature student pitches almost the exact same topic to her. Lecturer gives positive feedback and gives the go ahead :(

Monday was not my day :(:(

What difference does it make if it was a mature student? Genuinely interested.

That sucks I hope you didn't start to look up new topic tonight. If your having one of those days just to try and fix it once it hit 00:00 than try.

Nah, I had one of those 'why am I even doing this course?!' moments instead and was in a bad mood the rest of the day...:(

But yesterday was much better so I'm gonna attack it again today and HOPEFULLY whatever I come up with willbe suitable.

I'm the only one in the class without a topic at this stage though, and its just so frustrating!!:mad:
