No.....there isnt. People were not actually sick, you do realise that ? They are not complaining about the thing physically making them sick. They are giving their opinion that its shít using phrases such as "made me physically sick" to emphasise that.

    No shit Sherlock.

And you've just backed up my point. When people resort to hyperbole and extreme exaggeration about a trivial event or topic, that's when it crosses the line between comment and bitching/moaning.

Example: What a crap video = Comment.
What a crap video. It makes me sick watching this = Bitching and moaning.
What you did was have a pop at people who gave that opinion and advised them to
stay at home if thats how they feel. Why ? Because you didnt like hearing their
opinions or how they worded them.

I didn't have a pop at anyone. And I don't have an issue with contrary opinion. If i did, I wouldn't be posting on a discussion forum, would I? My post wasn't referring to the opinions of others, but rather the over-reaction of some posters.
So how is what you said opinion while what others say bitching and moaning ?
Only difference I see it that you think your input is more valid than everyone
    else's.

Well then you'd be wrong. I've already explained the difference. I'll do so again just so we're clear- if someone thinks the video is crap, that's fair enough. If someone hysterically over-reacts to such a video, and makes baseless presumptions about it (ie. load of money wasted etc when they have no idea how much it cost), then to my mind, that crosses the line into bitching and moaning. Hope that clears it up for you.

I'd also point out that many of the posts against this video seem to stem, not from an objective judgement of the video itself, but from the fact that it was made by RTE.

When were you fired by RTE?

:D After being Assistant Editor on this project :D

Only joking please don't come down on me like a tonne of bricks, as I stated I like RTE shows (really I believe they do a great job), I love the concept of the video, and really enjoyed the camera work, but......

.....sure I've already mention that so I will leave it at that. I hope everyone enjoys their Saturday :)

Give me a fcukin break. There is no difference in those two things. And even if there was do you not see the hypocrisy in your argument seeing as you've already stated your own post telling people to stay at home if thats how they feel was a valid opinion and not moaning ?

Your post was referring to the opinions of others, you just refuse to see them as valid opinions. Yet when coming from you its perfectly fine.

Seems I'm not going by what you've posted so far.

If that was made by anyone people would be calling it shít. Because its shít.

And RTE is the beneficiary of licence paid by the citizens of this country. People pay these people, people have right to comment on what these people do. And people have a right to give their opinions on what they do. Just as people have a right to question the government or any state sponsored operation.

There is something very, very, very fishy about the fact that Miriam O'boaring O'Callahan is not featuring, staring, appearing in the shoot. Did I miss something????T

    No Seoige's either.

They must've been attending an opening of a butchers shop in Westport or something equally as glamourous on the day of filming.

I didn't realise Larry Gogan was such a talented drummer.

I dislike RTE as much as the next begrudging Irish man and I didn't pay €160 towards that but in all fairness it was...............quite good.

I'd love to see a video of Ryan Tubardy riding Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin.

Ryan Tubardy, a life support machine for an adams apple.(Dustin the turkey)

If you have pay the €160 tv licence every year part of the deal should be that you get one punch to use on any RTE presenter you wish.

    Tubirdy or Doyle...huge decision

If you had to choose one which would you pick?......Just asking because you seemed to be more focused on Tubridy :D

Personally, I'd like to see a video of her getting down and dirty with Sharon ni Bellybutton or both the Seoiges together, but if Ryan's your thing.....different strokes

My mother asked me if I missed home tonight.

Answer: No - I feel vindicated!

Sorry guys it's the worse thing I have ever seen, editing wise

    A) most of the vocals are out of synch

    B) the camera work is really bad at points

    C) Why as a Professional station allow A) and B) to happen.

I Actually like are national stations, but whoever produced, edited, and directed that deserves to be fired.

It's the biggest load of poo I have ever seen RTE Produce, and I like RTE.

Brewing up a storm, it looks like a babque gone wrong

although this is shockingly bad, ill conceived and unoriginal it is far from the worst thing RTE have done. Tune in most nights of the week and you will see programmes that make your teeth hurt.

I think what gets me is that it looks like it was rendered in a NTSC format (29 frame per sec), while it was edited or produced as the PAL Format (25 frames per sec), this can lead to a time lag in the video the longer it goes on.

Hence the out of sync I mentioned before, and again my apologies this shouldn't have got by the editor, producer or director, as they should have known better. Particularly for a music week.
You do realise this is a Youtube vid you're watching. One possible reason for the out of sync experience you're suggesting

Golden Light I'm calling upon you to pinpoint the exact time where the video is cut.

You claimed that you can see the cut point so let us judge whether you're talking out your hole or not.

I agree with you youtube can mess up the sync on a video, but I watched it on RTE, and it started off in sync and then seemed to time lag out of sync, the girls with the hockey sticks are out of sync as well

There appears to be a cut at Diathie, putting the sign up to the screen, that could be an edit, in fairness, I can't actually see any break in filming, I was completely wrong there, in making assumption that I did (after I stated it last night I watched it again 3 times)

Unfornately it is still out of sync, and there isn't an awful lot I can do about that.

So I apologies for saying there was a break in editing of the film, and as I have stated before I believe the camera work is brilliant.

**Edit I just noticed I did state the "camera work was really bad" I now retract that and my apologies to the camera person, my assumption was that it wasn't taken in one take, I can't proof that and I am very probably wrong in that assumption. Again I am just an amature and if I can see it's out of sync so can alot of people, but as I stated it is only my opinion

A few of them are out of sync, I think simply because they can't sing. I know a lot of people that sing out of time like that and to see that Daithi O'Se is such a person doesn't surprise me at all.

Cringey stuff from RTE as always, it was over-ambitious, ambition is fine if you pull it off in the end but they didn't. They probably did two takes and then said "f*ck it that'll do" and it shows.

Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin though, they got that part right.

I liked it. Could have done with more Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, but it was well done.

I once blew my chances with her during a photo op by checking her name was Aoife. She smiled for the pic thankfull but soured instantly after. Whooops

    Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin....foxy
Sean O'Rourke....looked like he'd wandered into it by accident
Who was the burly guy jogging around the place, the concept of lip synching seemed lost.
Where was Derek Mooney and Brenda?
Or Craig Doyle for that matter? He cant pass a camera without mugging up.
Finally RTE fufills its contractual dues with blathnaid ni chofaigh by sticking her on some kind of screen, somewhere.

Again Aoibhinn...foxy. Is she still with that chinless wonder from the late late show?

Shes in a new travel programme starting soon apparently.

Used to like the last one as I love seeing and going places and yer one from Carlow was a brilliant presenter on it (forgot her name).

Hope Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin goes to some beach destinations.

BTW anybody else think the non RTE people looked more comfortable in front of the cameras than the RTE presenters? (except Larry Gogan of course.... legend).
