If this guy is not charged or found to have no involvment his life is destroyed now. This is what really annoys me about the media. They seem to latch onto somebody and print and display his name and image. I think this is totally wrong until they are charged and found guilty.

If you recall the woman who was murdered in London last year, the media latched on to her eccentric ex-lecturer and not only mentioned his name but showed photographs and filmed him leaving his house etc. As it turned out this guy had nothing to do with it but his name will be forever associated with the case. :(

It seems to be more prevalent in the UK but maybe it is just as bad here.

Was it not the Police who released his name and photo?

If he is never charged with anything, I'd say he will get hefty compensation.

Are you serious? It's about a five year old girl who has possibly been abducted and murdered and you're wondering why it's getting coverage??

Why so much coverage here though?

Because normal people have empathy for suffering of others?

But can you actually charge somebody with murder if no body has been found?

The point MJ23 is making, I assume, is that theres a lot more coverage than usual. Jeez. And I agree! No one said it's bad, it's a question, and a fair one at that.

Yeah but the levels of interest displayed on this thread go beyond empathy and almost crossing the border into morbid fascination

I remember the Soham murders of ten years ago got a lot more coverage here but I guess that was due to the fact they didn't have a suspect from early on and at the start it felt like the two girls had just vanished into thin air

Yes if there is enough other related evidence (DNA, statements, timings of location spotted in area, etc) available.

Hope he gets tortured in jail and drops the soap repeatedly. Bastard!

Let's hope they find April Jones so her poor mother can at least bury her and let the little one rest in peace :(

He is to appear in Court on Monday morning, charged with murder

He must be refusing to tell where the body is still.

You would think he would tell them where she is. Scumbag

He's obviously not admitting to the murder. Why on earth would he tell them where the body is?

The evidence against him must be strong though. Police put him in the public eye very early on.

Careful. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt in a court of law. That is the golden thread of justice.

You don't want her killer getting off.
We want to make sure they rot in goal for the rest of their life.

you think he will actually see any of the "normal" jail population?

He will be housed in with all the other ****ing paedophiles and they can all talk about their fantasies together.

    So how will this work
Will he be out until trial, or sent to prison now?
And how long before trial comes to court,

How can there be a murder without a murder victim/body, Did he claim to have killed her?
Abduction charge I can understand but a murder charge without a body I can't?

What is the abduction charge based on? I thought the kids said she got into a van and that was it?

You would need the parent's consent to lawfully take a child, not just the child's consent.

All the RIP April facebook pages are sickening.

Aprils older sister Jasmine left a comment on one of the ones that has been active since Thursday asking for the page to be deleted, and it got nearly 30,000 likes.

Yet the Admin (who by the looks of his/her posts is no older than 12) won't shut down the page. Her poor family :(

Murder charges and prosecutions can be made without a body.

Yeah I get that, but was it actually confirmed that it was his car that she got into with him in it?
I thought it was just speculation as the kid who saw her getting into a vehicle said it was a 'van'
