Just got the new Zaxxon Escape for iOS. It's supposed to be a direct follow up to the original but in a very different style.
So far I'm not a fan of it.

Is it being piloted by Charlize Theron's character from Prometheus? Fly up god damn it!

This is a big, heavy shield just like the ones Hylian Knights use. It can stand up to LEGO attacks! (Built by Bolt of Blue: http://j.mp/R0DlgA)

You know what? I really like the look of a PAL game in a US snes. It rounds off the extreme angles, looks pretty cool.

Yawn. Call me when someone puts an NTSC console into a PAL case. Then we can talk.

Speaking of Prometheus, saw an ad on tv for the dvd release out soon - mentioned an alternative beginning and ending. Wonder are they worth the price of admission if you've already seen the film.

I'll all the extras here in 1080p. There are some bits that should have been in the movie.

Roughly how many minutes do you think they add up to? Curious to see if they make much of a difference like the special edition of Aliens, and whether it's worth buying.

Yeah, because that'd make sense. Why not buy a SFC?

I'll hold out for a version with an alternate middle as well.

I'm holding out for next year's 'Convincing Old Man Prosthetics' edition, in which Guy Pearce no longer looks like a radish, and in which
his secret presence on the ship and daughter twist
    actually make sense.

I actually quite like Prometheus. Ignore some of the stupider stuff (and there's a lot of it) and it's quite an enjoyable visual treat.

I said NTSC. Not NTSC/J. Therefore, you lose and I win. *mocks mod while running away from his banhammer*

I really enjoyed Prometheus, I would like to give it another watch when it comes out and see if the extras make any difference.

Could have been better though but it wasnt as bad as everyone said

The miracle small rock near the end that saves someones bacon!
While the crashing ship crushing everything and poor Ms Theron, it saves Ms Rapaces ass from being turned into strawberry jam by stopping the tumbling leviathan by heroically lying there, looking like every other rock but resisting the enormous pressures the crashing craft brought to bear, simply amazing, Don't know how Ridley comes up with this stuff!
    Miracle Rock FTW!

But NTSC-U carts don't fit into the PAL/SFC casing without cutting it. I did the mod for Ondafly & I can't say I was happy with how it looks when there were no carts in the slot after enlarging it. I'll happily take second place if thats what your talking about :D

The US machine seems to be the way to go, runs everything and the snipping is unobservable from the outside, so it's all good, should be too, I just bought one!

Tried some of the PAL Nes collection of the Fami last night and everything seems fine.
Well, SMB 3 is doing something funky with colours tbh, is this normal, well, normal for that Pal game in a Fami?
Aside from that, played a bit of the Donkey Kong Classics cart, worked like a dream!
No more frakking about with the Pal Nes trying to get something other than a blinking red light and a grey screen!

Yep that was my thinking on it too. I actually like the look of it, it's different & as you said, plays every type of Snes cart with no case cutting. The PAL & SFC are nice looking too, more sleek & rounded, but the fact you have to use an adapter or cut the case to use US carts puts me off them

So, is there a problem with my PAL SMB3, doing the dodgy colour thing on the Famicom, or is this normal, given the game was probably optimised in some way for the PAL machine, given it's a late title for the format?
