Always wondered, but would older consoles overheat inside a wooden case?

Even with vents, would you say you'd want a mini fan in there?

Like Snes/MD type thing? It'd want to be seriously close quarters...a silent fan maybe just for air circulation

Yeah, something I always wanted to do. Plus I was wondering about those wooden neo geo consoles. Surely they must have some fan in them

No fan inside my wooden CMVS from Analogue Interactive as far as I know, but I haven't opened it up or anything.
I'll take it out later on and have a listen but I'm pretty sure no fans of any sort.

I doubt a 68000 processor would generate that much heat. I'd be more worried about power supplies but if it's external then it won't generate much. Even early pentium chips only had metal heat sinks rather than fans.

Facebook competition for a N64 everdrive at stoneagegamer. You might be as lucky as I am!

Whats the game Jessie is playing on a 360 during season 4 of Breaking Bad? It's a light gun game, fps with zombie thingies. Rage or something I think was it?

Why would I doubt that you would have one of those beauties!

I'd like to give something like that a go, even replicate a NES case with nice wood.

Anyone got a fancy Everdrive64 for their N64 that can test out a 32MB rom file for me?
It's a custom patched Perfect Dark US NTSC.

    Cheers

    What's the patch for?

Puts Goldeneye on the Perfect dark engine along with a load of tweaks. It's a game mod.
New version of it just out but I dont have an Everdrive64 or any way of trying it on real N64 hardware.

Here's an interesting device: C64, Amiga and Atari 2600 FPGA based console with obligatory SD card slot.

    http://www.mcc-home.com/

Might be a bit pricey at the moment at $150 for the base version but its re-programmable so hopefully other systems may be added in future.

Don't have a C64 or Amiga so might pick one up myself at some point if reviews are favorable.

I just don't have the room for 80's/90's pc based stuff like the C64. Despite having a boxed one, it has to live in its box as I've nowhere to put it so something like this could be ideal

Curious device alright. So it's not just an emulator in a box?

Beside the point but dear God why did they have to cock up their YouTube video with some crappy music, can't properly hear the game music in the background. Hate when folk do that.

The vast majority of tutorial videos regards console mods are like this, with heavy metal or rap. Annoys the fukc outta me & end up muting the vid

Why does being a Youtube/Vlog reviewer always seem to go hand-in-hand with being a budding/failing filmmaker?
