I'd say some lad in Laois is having a few pints in celebration tonight!

Mad to think there was someone sitting out there with a couple of grand who just decided to spend it on a Dreamcast. People are mental.

I do watch it from time to time but it hasn't been good in years. Seth MacFarlane was hosting so i said I've give it a gander.

    Don't get it!
The first frame looks like a really big Navigators transport thingy from Lynchs' Dune, but I'm guessing that's wrong!

Just go play Final Fantasy 6. You'll understand then. A game so awesome it lets you suplex trains.

I must say the new Just Cause 2 hacked multi-player looks a whole lot of awesome silly fun :)
So far up to 1800 players on the one 400 square mile map without slowdown or issues.

Americans involved in the voice-over on this vid, apologies :o

I have it for the PS, I'll pop in the queue of games to be played, should get to it by 2016 or so....

I'm actually considering knocking current gen purchasing on the head completely for a year or two.
I am only getting to play stuff I bought last year, and even then many months after their release, like my recent start on LA Noire, I have some 9 or 10 title barely touched after that, including Arkham City and Driver:San Fran.

My DS/3DS collection is finally getting some time, I'm nearly done with Resi:Revelations, and maybe I can get through a few things there.
After hunting for Cave Story 3D for the best part of a year I have only scratched the surface.

    Really enjoyable game, if a little repetitive near the end. If you lose concentration during a cut-scene it''s gonna cost you too...you really need to focus on that game & the reasoning/deduction in it too. You can't accuse someone of lying unless you have proof {consult your notebook to remind you etc}

Unfortunately the PS1 version is kind of terrible. First it's probably the PAL version and they also added excruciating load times between areas, before and after battles and when opening the menu, load times being 8-10 seconds. It turns what is a snappy fast paced RPG into and excruciating slog. Random battles aren't bad when they load instantly. They're terrible when you have to wait 8-10 seconds before and after each one and then suffer another load time when you want to open the menu. It does have one of the greatest videogame soundtracks of all time but they even messed that up with all the instruments sounding wrong.

I'd just emulate it in fairness. Works great on the Wii.

Why is it every version of something I happen to have is terrible???
I have that sitting, with the rest of the FF re-releases for the PS, in a drawer thinking I have some sort of gaming gold there, now you tell me it's pants!
    Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!

That's it, I'm going where-ever mods go when they burn out!
I'm going to take a sabbatical and play Fifa 03 and Army Men games until I feel better!

I have 3 versions of FFVI, Original SNES, GBA and PS1

Yet, I've never gotten the time to play it :(

Must sort myself out with a Sp with a good screen and play it because that and Earthbound are 2 ones on my list for a long time

Jesus just play the SNES version, the GBA version has a butchered soundtrack. It's a really low sample rate.

    How it should sound:

Alright so, its the NTSC snes version aswell, suppose it would be right to play it on my us snes. I'll have to make time to play it

I sort of prefer the bass sound of the GBA version there :o

I think it totally ruins it, the track is meant to be subtle not bassy. The tinniness really grates on me.

Does it sound different coming from a GBA speaker in stereo?
Perhaps the sound reproduction on the GBA emu they, presumably, took that audio clip from was poor.

But, why oh why is the PS version inferior?

Ah, forget that, just properly read your riposte to my initial posting about FFVI on the PS..... must read posts properly!

Nope that's how it sounds in game, it's a high quality rip of low quality sound samples.

There's a reason that homebrewers took it on themselves to do 'sound restoration' hacks of the GBA roms, They've finish FF5 and FF6, I think 4 is finished or close to it. Squaresoft wanted cheap and cheerful ports so hired Tose, a company specialising in terrible ports and has a policy of not crediting itself or it's staff for their work. Tose also did the PS1 port, says a lot already. Then Square decided to go with a tiny cartridge size and since the original games size is mostly taken up by music and sound samples they had to reduce the sound quality to fit the game on the cartridge which is why it sounds so ****.

If you have a GBA flashcart it might be the best way to play the games outside of emulation:
