Oh? You mean like "sickness in our society"?

Whoops, sorry. That was aimed at the homosexuals.

Can you point out where you have been called an unjustified name? Was it before or after you provided evidence to back up your bigoted opinion?

I'm not saying they shouldn't have kids, there should be extra protections in place for them. It's not fair on the poor kids to go trough all the stuff they will go trough. My evidence is common sense. Don't make me browse google for stories of people being bullied for having two daddies! Do it yourself; But nooo, no one listens to me, a mere bigot!

You want me to look for something that backs up YOUR point? No thanks, that's not how discussions work. You make the claim, you back it up.

And if we're talking common sense, then common sense says gay couples should be allowed to marry so that being gay, and having gay parents, will be seen as a perfectly normal part of life.

Common sense also says the only reason you'd be against that is if you don't think being gay is a perfectly normal part of life.

Look, i've read alot of things. I didn't believe half of it. I thought it was common sense to any reasonable person that children of same-sex marriages would be bullied. Do they grew up just as good as an average child. That's something I honestly don't know. Do they get bullied? Yes. I thought everybody knew this. I've seen alot of people associated with homosexuals get beaten up and i've stood up for a couple of kids gettin beat up in my time too!

Remember that gay kid in American was beating up tied to a fence and left to die because he was gay!?

Hold on, did you seriously just invoke Matthew Shepard to support your arguments against equality? Let me guess, the guys who beat him to death weren't bigots either?

I said a couple of times I was willing to change my views if people would be a little more polite to me and tried to explain instead or ramming it down my throat like someone put it a few posts ago!

When you're first post spouts the cliched "behind closed doors" and you then go on to show a distinct lack of understanding of the civil partnership act, is it any wonder people get frustrated?
    Actor wrote: »

I'm not. I think the bar on same sex marriage should be dropped immediately and gay couples should have the same rights and responsibilities as any other married couple.

As for homosexual acts, they were decriminalised nearly 20 years ago. See no reason to overturn that.

You really are incredibly versed on the supposed consequences of anal intercourse. You must share your sources some time.

I don't mind discussing this and I actually want to but i'd much rather be snuggled up watching tv with my gf than everyone ganging up on me cause I have a different belief.

How would you react if your children were bullied because their parents weren't married? Would you feel that it's your fault, or would you think that something should be done about the bullies?

And this is what happens when you live blindly by the bible and don't look at life from your own point of view and don't question it all for yourself.

I'd love to know why you feel that way about those things, and if you feel those things are detrimental, facts would be nice instead of made up non sense notions.

Homosexual acts? Seriously, what could two men do that a man and woman couldn't? Even so, I know you're touching on anal sex but far more straight people do that by numbers alone. And you know what, it's perfectly normal and acceptable.

Times have changed and we think for ourselves in this millenium. The time of reading out of a 2,000 year old man made book for all the answers is gone because it doesn't make sense and it doesn't hold up in modern society.

Is Actor religious? I do know he suffers from fear and hatred of gays but won't reveal why. Or whether he shares his views with people in his particular profession... odd, that.

Paddy, I was going to write a short note here to thank you for, in your own unpleasant way, reminding forum members of the contemptible, primitive and disgraceful prejudice which so many people in this country must deal with every day. And then I was going to ban you. However, I see that Dades has saved me the effort - thanks Dades.

Not questioning the decision to ban him but we then lose the chance of hearing his reasons for such prejudices. Then again, paddy and his ilk aren't big on revealing why their hatreds fester so :(

I can never comprehend why people get into such a lather about perfectly natural things like love and sex  I'd be truly and genuinely fascinated to find out what makes them so angry.

    Sigh.

The cheap answer is probably repressed homosexuality. I doubt that's true, however the behaviour of some wacko US pastors recently has been surprising.

I would imagine that for the religous types on this thread that they are the ones who really, really believe the god stuff. That means they don't hold back when it comes to securing their place in the dull party in the sky.

Funny how they seem to be the same crowd who claim Muslims are intolerant and backward...

I just don't get the hatred. Well, I do "get" it, as it were, iyswim :D

As for the alleged repression, they tend to seem awfully captivated by sodomy, anal sex and torn back passaged :confused:

Bigot - a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own.

You're intolerant of my ideas, so you're the bigot. I'm trying to learn here!

I've learned one thing for sure. If you don't agree with homosexuals they call you a bigot. Did I learn anything else, unfortuneatly I can't say I did!

You said because a guy doesn't agree with homosexual he must be hiding something (IE. He must be gay) in so many words. You said this about another guy in this thread!

Wow. I guess you're just blinded by your own prejudices then, if after everything that's been posted, you actually have the gall to say you haven't learned anything.

By the way, out of all the people on this thread, how can you tell who's a homosexual and who's not?

No, if you discriminate against homosexuals, you are a bigot. Here endeth the lesson.
