I hope so tbh. When he signs a pre-contract with someone else in January we should drop him to the reserves for the second half of the season imo.

Would be my preference for tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned Walcott sits on the bench for the rest of the season, unless we have serious injury problems.

That would be most people's ideal team but I think we will rest some players with huge games coming in quick succession ahead of us. Kos has to be given game time too to get him back to peak.

The fact that he hasn't been used by Wenger so far would suggest the manager has lost faith in him.
It's funny because it's always the ones that he sticks by, that let him down.

One of the bloggers was tipping Eisfield to replace Diaby in the midfield, I suspect it will be Ramsey.

    Szesney
    Jenks-Mert-Vermaelen-Gibbs
    Artetta
    Oxlade Chamberlain-Ramsey-Cazorla-Podolski
    The Hunk

With tough games ahead and CL on Tuesday he could well be tempted to rest a few, but then again 3 points is an absolute must. Resting Cazorla or Artetta and he could upset the balance of the team and we end up looking rudderless.

Hopefully we get our shooting boots on this weekend.

I'd say Giroud might be benched tomorrow. Hope not though.

Really hope not, he needs game time to get that goal.

Same, and of all our games so far, Southampton will definitely be the best opportunity for him to get one.

    Maybe this team for tomorrow?

    Chez
    Jenk
    Mert
    Verm
    Gibbs
    Coq
    Arteta
    Cazorla
    Walcott
    Gerv/Ox
    Poldi

According to a reliable twitter source, Coq and Chez will be starting

I think Kos will replace one of the centre backs - perhaps Verm depending on what condition he comes back in after playing twice for Belgium.

Good shout, I'd like to see how Kos has shaped up since his injury too so it would be a welcome change. Mert will have to be on his game tomorrow with Southampton's back post balls.

That'd be a terrible move IMO. Would completely shatter the guy's confidence.

Completely shatter his confidence?? Exaggeration in my opinion, the fact that he might not start the match does not necessarily mean that Arsene has lost confidence in his ability to deliver, I dont know the line up for tomorrow but since he has not scored in the first three matches, the coach might want to try something different. If he stays on the bench as a sub, he could perharps have a better understanding of his team mates and how they play in a match situation rather than being introduced from the word go to replace RVP.

Personally, I will like him to start because it will be a good chance for him prove himself considering the fact that S'amptom play relatively attacking football and will not be defending 80 minutes out of 90. But if he doesnt start, he should take it on the chin and not let it completely shatter his confidence- that would not be professional IMO.

I agree to a point, the papers/internet will be full of crap saying Wenger has lost patients/Oli is sh1te. Neither of which will be true. I think barring the wee misses he looks a fantastic player. Play the guy at every opertunity

From what I've read on other sites Szcz starts tomorrow. Think it will be Per and Kos with Jenkinson and Gibbs either side. Think Arsene will start Coquelin in midfield along side Arteta and Ramsey - just have a feeling he could rest Cazorla. Don't think he'll chance Diaby - could we finally be seeing his true potential - the player he was before he got his ankle smashed at Sunderland ? Can see Walcott and Gervinho either side of Giroud. A big game for our French centre forward if he is selected - I've a feeling once he starts scoring he'll be in there at every oppertunity - he was unlucky with the header for France against Belarus. I think Gervinho and him could click. I think Theo will start because Arsene will rest the Ox. If he reads some of Giroud's knock downs he might skin through the Southampton defence - he need to prove a point and get back in the fans good books.

Should beat the Saints - they look naive and attack minded so I think we'll catch them on the break. Wonder what will the pundits say if we keep another clean sheet.

I think Walcott is doubtful with a virus so wouldn't expect him to start.

I've gotten ten out of eleven the last two weeks so lets go for a hattrick:

    Szczesny
    Jenkinson -- Mertesacker -- Koscielny -- Gibbs
    Arteta -- Ramsey
    Cazorla
    --- Chamberlain
    Podolski
    Giroud

My question mark this week is Vermaelen, I'd rest him but seeing as he is the captain, that might not happen so early. Ramsey in for Diaby and Szczesny taking back his place in goal. Everything else stays the same. As for subs, Gervinho on for Podolski and Walcott for Cazorla, with Chamberlain going in the middle.

I hope Giroud starts tomorrow, Southampton have been trying to play so far this season. If he starts he should be picking them off easily for a couple of goals.

Thank god the international break is over!

a 3-0 win would be nice with Giroud gettin at least one. Will do him the world of good!!

It would depend on his condition coming back from the internationals. He has a more than capable deputy so if he's not 100% I think he will

    I'd say we will go
    Scez
    Jenk,mert,verm,Gibbs
    Ramsey,arteta
    Ox,Santi,gervinho
    Podolski

If he rests verm or Santi my fantasy team is screwed :)

John Cross of the Mirror just tweeted that Giroud will be on the bench, Ox Podolski and Gervinho being the front 3.

Interesting article on Bould's influence on the team. not sure if i'm quite ready to put our current back 4 on a par with Adams and co but the signs are definitely promising...

    Giroud benched eh?
Wenger will be giving ammunition to the doubters with that one.
Let's see how Podolski does with the role.

I'd say it's more that he will def start tues against his old club

    Or

Home games podolski up front and away games giroud up front, cause podiski is deadly on the counter attack

He's never let that bother him before. Probably just a matter of his current physical condition. Last year we didn't have that option with RVP having to play every game. It does show how much stronger the squad is this year.
