haha "enjoy college" I wish! God-damn schols is what I'm aiming for in 2nd year, so Ima try finish top of my year, which could very well prove to be a nightmare... Hopefully I'll have the time do still do some cool Soc stuff, as the zoology and climing socs realy piqued my interest :)
After looking at all the events for freshers week, it seems like us commuters are gonna be such outcasts! I mean, maybe one or two nights might work, but I cant see myself shacking up with one of my friends every night for a whole week... might be a little, emmm.. scabby? :o

aside from that, really looking foward to checking out the gym! Every day after school trainings the plan :) any of you guys looking fow a gym buddy? Hit me up! Im gonna be such a loner next week!!! :'(

Ok. Sure u can still go out every night anyway

Prob won't be able to go to the nightclubs but I don't know what the bus/train/luas is like for you

I'll commute but the latest I can really stay in Dublin mon-Thursday is 11.50.

So you can still go to the pub and all that and them there might be a night link then on Friday and Saturday.

    There hope :)

ya im the same really, i mean, i *think* i can stay at one or two people'e appartments if im stuck, but really, id rather not want to be one of "those guys".... so realistically, id say im in a similar situation, 10 or 11 would be the latest i think id be able to stay in town, and if alcohols involved, its a different situation altogether... Dont know if id even trust myself to get the bus back to Wicklow at that stage! :p

4 sounds good.. maybe we'll meet somewhere fairly obvious on campus and then head to the Buttery (campus café). Oh and then we could all head to this: http://www.facebook.com/events/110244605792662/

I think you have to be a member of the Hist but it looks like it could be a great laugh :)

Does anyone know what the deal with Hist and Phil is? Are they like debating teams or what? Can you join both? Cuz both are doing some amazing talks and stuff I and I dunno do I have to choose or not. xD

PS. I will take ANYONE in a game of Mariokart. Just name your console. xD <3

Anyone know how likely it is that the freshers week wristbands will sell out before we can buy them at an SU stand?

That description is so funny :pac: I'll pop by the Butterfly at about 4 on Monday, see if anything's happening, Perhaps, to avoid confusion, we should agree on some sort of a hand signal to indicate whether we're boardsies.

well might as well keep this going since we've got a few people here! :p How'd everyone get on in the leaving cert? I mean, we're prob gonna be bored ****less hearing about it after the 1st week of freshers week, seems like the perfect ice breaker...

What about your course choices? Anybody pick the course with a specific career in mind?
I did med chem since i narrowly missed out on medicine in hpat points :(
The plan's so do medicine grad entry after, and this course compliments medicine really well, since its basically the scientific side of medicine, and even overlaps quite a bit module-wise, so hopefully , IF, i stick to my (very vague, general) plan, ill (hopefully) piss through medicine :)

Anybody sign up for the optional language module? I sent in a form to do the french one, would be great to have something more than a school standerd in another language. Id love to be near fluent in french and maybe live/work there for a few years in the future... would be BADASS :D

I did pretty well in that bitch of a Leaving, got my human genetics by a nice few points :D was afraid I'd be stuck with DCU but I got through it grand :)

I'm hoping to do gene counciling or oncology but I'm not that sure, all I know for def is that I love genetics haha!

I love French and was tempted to do the after college class but I didn't want to risk an extra exam and work :P I'd say I'll improve it through societies or something..

Definitely up for meeting up for coffee/lunch on the Monday to make a few friends, need peeps to go to nights out/events with haha!!

From what I've seen of last years, it's more of a club night out than a ball..

a hand signal? oh god.... some seriously cringeworthy things just popped into my head there... would be hilarious all the same, if we were all just standing around, not knowing who was a boardsie, then some guy starts hooting like an owl, and we all flock around him silently, recognizing "the call" :p

That's one of the best ideas I've seen on this forum :D
