It's fairly unusual to find Rangers/Celtic fans at Parkhead/Ibrox for the other teams euro games - although not unheard of.
    Pretty moronic tbh.

Lads take bit of advice and go to Lisbon and Barcelona if you have any thought and money to go.

    You wont regret it.

Cant guarantee a result, but the Cities are just class for a lot reasons. Mind your pockets, but you have ball once you do.

Celtic FC - SL Benfica 19 Sep 2012
FC Spartak Moskva - Celtic FC 2 Oct 2012
FC Barcelona - Celtic FC 23 Oct 2012
Celtic FC - FC Barcelona 7 Nov 2012
SL Benfica - Celtic FC 20 Nov 2012
Celtic FC - FC Spartak Moskva 5 Dec 2012

There's the fixtures. Will need 4 points from the first two games to be in with a chance of qualifying I'd say. We've got a chance of qualification, finishing 3rd and EL football after Christmas wouldn't be a bad result either.

Are we going to buy anyone to strengthen the squad, fairly light up front and in the center of defense.

    but their not talking ****!!!

their telling truth, even if little unfair.

Use it to yer advantage though. I think Celtic will surprise few people in this group, fancy ye to go close for 2nd, might just miss out though.

Its a storm in a tea cup, dont get me wrong. Its not a big deal at all but anything to get siege mentality going :pac:

Im not happy about the fact that Lawwell hasnt sorted out the squad. Lennon has stated the need for for certain types of players for a while now and it looks like Lennon will have to go a very busy 6 months with a thin squad.

I'll settle for 11 points. Three home wins included :D

No, seriously, everything is possible, 2nd or 3rd place

I doubt we'll see much activity tomorrow on transfers, our squad needed triming and although we're short quality for the Champ Lge we have a squad well capable for the SPL.

I think we might go for a loan or 2 but in terms of signing we're probably looking at Johnny Russell types. A pity as a decent CB and powerful striker would make the world of difference.

I seriously think 2nd is there for taking as neutral.(have soft spot for ye when in Europe) I be confident enough to say I think Celtic will at worst get 3rd.

Celtic's qualification to the group stages of the Champions League will provide a £1.5m boost to Scottish Premier League clubs.
The 4-0 aggregate win over Helsingborgs will increase Uefa's 'solidarity fund' paid to the SPL by £1m.

Scottish clubs will also receive a co-efficient ranking boost as a result of the Glasgow side's success.

SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster said the funds will offset "the financial damage caused by the loss of Rangers".

Scottish clubs receive co-efficient ranking points based on success in matches against other European clubs, which helps determine individual club seedings in the Europa League and Champions League.

So the financial damage caused by the loss of Rangers is nearly offset! :D

I'd be delighted to get 3rd and think we have a decent chance, the first game is critical, a win there would get confidence up and give us a good shot.

3rd is a possibility but will be tough going. Spartak and Benfica are good sides, we need to bank on home wins and hope to nick something away. I don't expect anything but a committed performance against Barca. It's a pity we play them in our 3rd and 4th games, if we played them later then they would probably have already qualified and might have given us a easier game.
It's great to be in the competition whatever happens. The younger players will now see Paradise in full swing.

    Kenwyne Jones anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,093 ✭✭✭Brewster

Fantastic draw lads, the obvious glamour of Barcelona, and then a very real prospect of finishing 3rd in the group. It is fantastic excitement for the fans and will alleviate some of the boredom from the SPL. Lenny looks like he is revelling in the role and long may it continue.

    Kenwyne Jones anyone?
Looked a great prospect during his first season at Sunderland. For some reason I don't think he ever lived up to his potential. He would probably score a mountain of goals in the SPL. Possible good signing but still have a doubt about him.

Yeah they can be cheap just be careful because you end up paying credit/debit card charges on top and make sure you are only taking carry on baggage
