If Madrid never budged on not giving an option to buy then Arsenal were right to opt out.
Seems to me that Madrid still see Sahin as part of their future plans and the only reason Sahin is willing to leave is so he can get more experience so he can work his way back onto the Madrid team. Doubt Sahin wants to stay in the PL for much longer than a year, obviously his mindset can change . Just doesn't seem worth the energy Arsenal would have to put into it.

Just hope we can find a replacement for Song so we can forget about Sahin altogether.

Arsenal pulled out, not 100% on this but reports say its due to Madrid not giving Arsenal an option to buy. And they were also looking for a loan fee of around 5million also.

Ah yes, thought it seemed odd. I'm not on Twitter, know there's loads of fake accounts, just read the quoted tweet in some article. Still, one of my favorite players we've had.

    Capoue or mvila I reckon

Either would be great tbh. Lets hope Wenger thinks they are good enough for him. Judging from his comments he's only in for the best of the best.

AFC ‏@WheeLer_AFC Arsene Wenger confirms if a "top, top class defensive midfielder turns up, he will definitely consider signing him." #afc

And lets hope by consider he means buying.

Also think wenger ha a little dig at song by stressing we only lost one world class player this summer, just one

I think he said if a top, top, quality DM is available he'll make a move or something to that effect,

From past experiences I think he will go with Coquelin in the holding role :(

Arsenal will alway survive near the top end while Wenger is in charge, it's wheter we want to conquer is the question. Do we have that hunger as a club to go for the jugular and make the signings we need? I'm not too sure based on the last few years in the market.

We'll see after next season when the stadium is is completely paid off. Looking at our first 11 I feel like we're on the cusp of something.

Is the stadium debt gone in two years?
    Thats some going.

I have a feeling the summer spending is done.
I'll probably draw criticism, but I dont think Coquelin, Jenkinson and Frimpong are anywhere near good enough.

Yup, plus sponsorship deals being redone and should increase significantly ... plus FFP coming in. So when other clubs are tightening up their spending, we should be increasing ours.

If we don't then I'd be looking for a change in ownership tbh. Paying off the stadium should free up £20-30million per year I think and I can't remember the exact figures but we're being massively underpaid relative to current market value for the sponsorship stuff, have a feeling in the analysis I was reading it was roughly the same amount as the year's cost in paying down the stadium debt. If we're making a £40-50million profit and not pushing on to win the league then something will have to give.

Don't forget the sponsorship deals are all up next year too I think there hoping to make an extra 50m a year alone from them
The club is in in a very healthy position and were nearly out of this dark time

2014 for the Emirates stuff I thought? Still, even if FFP is only half as effective as they're promising we should be increasing spending just when others have to decrease it. Premier League and Champions League win for Wenger to put the cherry on his tenure as manager before handing over the reins. :pac:
