Transbot. Not only one of the greatest games of all time, but also one of the best pieces of box art of all time too.

    AWESOME GET! :)

True. Most of those covers are awful, but Transbot just destroys everything in it's path. Plus it's a bloody brilliant game too. Excellent purchase. :)

    where did you buy that?

    where did you buy that?

The Slaughter House in Roscommon town, Its a discount shop beside Tesco.
Looks like they bought some other shops stock (toy city), you can see by the pic.

There are 3 packs still there but the games left are The Muppets & Stuart Little x2 I think.
If you need the accessories it might be worth a tenner. I asked and they had no more out the back.

I picked up ICO (just the disc and blank box) for 2euro there too,
they had random second hand ps2 & psp games, mostly rubbish though.

That white background + grid pattern always reminds me of a tea towel.

I really dislike the basic box art on the master system. Its a system I have zero love for and don't collect for either.

Is it something I should look into?
Whats the best console version to go for?

    Master of the Universe

The first model is the one to go for as it has a slot for those little cards that look like hucards.

Funnily enough I've also no real interest in one but almost bought one on ebay yesterday. It came with the 3D glasses and was going for a good price. I've always been interested in seeing how good (or bad!) those glasses are.

The cheapness of the system & the games means there's no real excuse at least not to have a Mastersystem & the sonic games for it. There's a few decent other games for it too.

The Mastersystem 1 would be the one to go for, it has a native RGB out I think. Both the MS 1 & 2 can be 60Hz modded too

I'm not that knowledgeable about it, to me it's simply an 8bit machine with some half decent games that can run @ 60Hz regardless. Seeing as its you, why not get them all?? :p

Just a heads up. I watched this recently, and the Master System's glasses tend not to age too gracefully; in fact you'd be lucky to get a perfectly functional pair.

That said, the 3D effect from them is said to be rather satisfying, and eBay has fully compatible and modern replacement glasses too at affordable prices.

    <mysterious GET! post>

The 'Holy Grail', named after Sir Arthur Guinness and built around 1947 in the industrious mining town of Luton is expertly modelled below by Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh and more or less sums up the kind of GET! day I've had today.

Although I hate posting in this thread without pictures, thought I'd list some recent gets:

A Gamecube lot with both Zelda games, Super Mario Sunshine, and some old sports games

A Gamecube lot with Paper Mario, Super Mario Baseball (well chuffed as I'd never seen this in the wild in Ireland before), Sonic Adventure 2, Mario Party 4, Mario Kart DD and some old shovelware.

And a bargain (misprice I reckon!) in the R.A.G.E... A complete version of Team Buddies for €7. Very happy with that actually as I only had a version without the manual, I love that game!

That Mario Baseball should of been MINE! Agreed the deal with seller on adverts and he just never got back to me the fecksticle.
Nice catch Marty my boy. :pac:

That's definitely not the one I acquired, mine came in a bundle from elsewhere... Also as far as I know, that copy might be ntsc?

Going by what little research I've done in to the Master System I'd say that the only major advantage of having an NTSC-Jap model is the fact that 3D glasses can be plugged directly into the console without needing a card adapter.

That's about it really... other than the fact that it's native 60hz.

got 2 Phoenix Wright tees, they were cheap 2nd hand and are girly fit (awkward to find and actually be nice) so really happy with em <3.
Steel Samurai is mine and the Miles one I'm sending to my bff since she brought me home stuff from Netherlands

    Yeah, I'm thinking the same!
Pyongyang and others the rule is

Put up or shut up! ;)

Also I had a not so mysterious but quite excellent G Darius awaiting me this morning, all the way from sunny Germany.
    Getting all Darius'd up now!
Of course the incoming Gradius Gaiden will redress the balance!
    Ying/Yang
    Light/Dark
    Jedi/Sith
    Gradius/Darius (/Raiden)

While you're at it ban folk that don't post pics. :pac:

If your GET isn't interesting enough to take a pic then it's not interesting enough to post at all. ;)

Sorry. Should I carry photos of 19 year old gaming consoles to work?
God, I think the camera I had 19 years ago was a ghetto wind up Kodak thing. Unless I take a picture of the picture...

Did you forget to take your pills today?

You said your 'pick' is an Amiga CD32, & showed a stock pic of it. Did you mean your 'GET'? Or pic? Instead of carrying photos to work, maybe concentrate on making sense?
