Sorry to disappoint but it's of the US kind.

Arrived from the states inside a week and was very well packed together. I was Comparing the box and console to the playstation I got recently and it's in a similar condition, so excellent. Box showing little signs of wear.
All the leaflets look unopened and the games and controllers look untouched. Although Super Marioworld was definitely played as there was a save on it with 96 stars.
No dirty, musty or smokey smell here, just that clean plastic smell.
Extremely happy with it, after a fruitless summer of searching for one with a decent price and without ridiculous shipping costs, $193.10 was on quote.
eBay app in iPhone proved invaluable here with its tendency to show me listings that haven't even got listed yet. I received this item before the seller even had it scheduled to go up I think.

Fired up Earthbound for first time tonight and the battery is still working! Also played Mario Kart and the difference in gameplay exceeded my expectations really. It's seems a lot quicker and is better for it as well.
Can't wait to play bomberman or mirco machines on it.
Would Street Fighter Turbo be even quicker? :p

Up next on my list a 3DO with at least Road Rash.

    Well I'm jealous!
I'd love a Super Nintendo of the US variety, jammy git!
Are you going to do some clipping so you can play Super Famicom games? Or have you got one of those already?

Colour me jealous too because you have a 3DO! Don't have a Super Famicom so I will be doing a bit of clipping and looking at Bomberman 4 and 5 as first acquisitions there. Don't really fancy a Super Famicom, might get the Jr. and mod it somewhere down the line.
    Would love a famicom though!

@monkeykube - The condition is excellent. 9/10 I reckon. I'd it still had the baggies for the cables and controllers and the flaps were a little less shabby it would be mint.

Good man! SB4 and SB5 are the last two I need for my Super Famicom Bomberman collection. Beware, boxed copies of these are not cheap, especially BM5.

Get a PC Engine after that and collect all those BM games! I think I have a full set with BM94 I picked up in Japan.

You have good taste anyway! :)

Ah crap didn't realise they were going to be expensive, boxed Bomberman 3 pal expensive.

Oh, I find Gradius not to be great. :p

BM4 and BM5 are NTSC-J only. BM3 was the last game in PAL. BM5 is the most expensive of the 5. Don't forget to pick up BMPW and BMBDM for the Super Famicom!

PC Engine editions are usually fine price wise. BM94 is the most expensive retail release. BM94 Kabuki Den is ridiculously expensive though, and it's only a demo of BM94!

You can get BM94 Kabuki Den on a Hyper Catalog CD too, that's the version I have along with the full retail release. And again, don't forget BM Panic! There was no B Daman for PC Engine, afaik.

Love Bomberman! I enjoy collecting it along with SHMUPS and Puyo Puyo games/merch. I hope you get the games too sir! :)

I love the Gradius series...it's just not as good as the Darius series. ;)

I have a hankering to collect Bomberman games too,
I only have SBM3 thus far but I'll probably begin with the Pal Snes games and work up from there.
I wouldn't have thought a 3DO was that hard to find, just that the best of them is heavy to ship because its built from pure awesome!

I wouldn't be so quick to fully disregard the Panasonic FZ-10, it may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the big momma' of 3DOs but it is known for it's reliability. To be fair, it's the games that really matter, the system will always be secondary. Road Rash, NFS, and of course the penultimate arcade adventure; Plumbers don't wear ties, will all play identically, for better or worse, regardless of console type.

So you're saying you have no preference for the aesthetics of the different consoles. Is that just the 3do or all platforms?

These are some of the items I have picked up recently. The source is a mixture of adverts.ie and car boot sales providing the odd bargin.:)

Finally got the last resi game for the cube that I was looking for, granted it's far from the best one.

Not hard to get but to find it for a price I'm happy with. The other problem is other stuff keep popping that and take away my funds for the 3DO.

Hmmm, I hear what you're saying but.... no!
The FZ-1 is the only way to go!
The FZ-10 is an abomination in the eyes of the gods!
Sure, you can play Pattank and Burning Soldier on an FZ-10 but deep deep down you'll know you have settled, settled for 2nd place....
    Could be worse,
You could have bought a CDI ! ;)

unfortunately it's just a regular pocket :( I got all three off the same guy. It was just by chance he brought them along with him last week when I was collecting some ps1 games off him. I gave him 50euro for the three GB along with that copy of Zelda. The blue sp is in excellent shape along with the pocket, the advance does show signs of wear though.
He done me a good deal on the ps stuff as well FF9, GT1&2 and the Metal Gear mission disk for 20, they're all cib in excellent shape. I got a gba link cable of him too.
The best bargin was Castlevania for 2 euro at a car boot at Leopardstown race course picked up GT4 there for 1 euro and die hard for 50c, just missed out on an psp there I think it went fo 30 but I don't know what shape it was in.

Picked up Darius Gaiden in RAGE for 30, expensive but apparently under the going rate.
I was going to get NSMB2 but shops closed, probably just as well, Edge gave it 7/10.
That said, not as bad as 6/10! ;)

Nicely done Adultappleflavouredbeveragemale. It's over the market price, but if you factor in postage it's a decent deal.

Not entirely, with all the variations of different console platforms it's only natural to have preferences. I for example have always preferred the look of the US SNES over it's Japanese & European variants, Smarties buttons and all, and I'm sure I'm conforming to the status quo when I say I find the Genesis model II a poor successor to the fantastically masculine looking original. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that the actual console will always be secondary to the games, give me a Genesis II with a copy of Gunstar Heroes over a Genesis I with the foul Golden Axe violating its cartridge slot any-day. So when it comes to anyone looking to purchase a 3DO, I say get whichever is easiest to procure.

I've had an FZ-10 under my TV since launch, and even though I've since obtained a couple FZ-1s and a Goldstar variant in the interim its still the FZ-10 that spins my discs so to speak:pac:

I suppose at the end of the day it's always better to have the hardware to run the game at the best possible speed without the borders so whether it's ntsc or ntsc-j it's all good. Personally I prefer the sfc over the us snes but both give the same results.

funnily enough Monkeycube, for all those rare games you bought, Theme Park is my favorite out of that whole lot you bought, probably my 2nd favorite sandbox game of all time, just behind Mega-Lo-Mania

The PAL version is worth a few quid. The NTSC version is not.

I have been playing games for a long time now and I have to agree with you, Theme Park is a great game and should be in everybody's collection as it can be bought for a couple of euro these days. I must admit though I have being playing the gamecube stuff since launch day and managed to build a half decent collection but I try to buy quality games that I will play and return to, Code Veronica in my opinion would be the weakest resi game but in this instance I got it to complete the series of six games on the cube. I don't see the point in buying every single game to complete a collection if you're not going to play them. I have Killer 7 on the ps2 as well and I just hit the right seller with that and twin snakes for sale that was prepared to do a deal. I'm not prepared to pay stupid money for any game.

The amount of really bad games collections on Adverts for sale is unbelievable at times. There was a guy selling ps2 games a while back and in my opinion out of the one hundred plus games I think I may have played three, I just don't know how some people can amass such an collection of games that wouldn't be up to much, although that's just my opinion. There are plenty of great games available at reasonable prices if you know what your looking for.pacman.gif

Well, I had a blast of Darius Gaiden last night and it's pretty nice.
To compound things I picked up G Darius for the PS from ebay, despite having it on the GNet already!
So, I'll probably pick up the Snes game as well and that'll do me, I have Darius II on the Megadrive and the TG-16 titles on the turbo Everdrive.
But don't take me for another Darius nut, just like collecting good, affordable games.
This hobby doesn't require a fortune to fund itself you know!

I saw a boxed 3DO FZ-1 in Rage the other day, no idea how much it was though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

No. You are a closet Darius fan mate! You bloody are! :pac:

I will hazard a guess, a not so common console, boxed and in the Rage.
