I'd expect Galway to win if they play to form but this being Galway who knows how they will play. Its a poor enough Cork team, their full back line is there for the taking but Waterford were poor at scoring goals this year. I don't think Galway should have that problem.

Any of ye Galway folks thinking of going to Emerald wrestling show in Salthill next week?

Shame about Barnes but Nevin makes the final

Paddy Power have Saoirse Ronan the 8/1 early favourite to play Katie Taylor in a biopic

No i'll be watching it from behind the couch, hoping Ger Canning ain't commentating. I'm nervous as hell that we'll pull another vintage Galway and after a good performance just no show the thing altogether. Pity the minors aren't playing this weekend too.
I'm going into it with hope rather than expectation. I've seen too many Galway teams throw away matches under the favourites tag.

Waterford had no creativity that day alright but I see Lehane causing trouble and Niall Burke being well marked by Cadogan if he isn't moved to FB on Canning.

Saw the sign from a distance. Who's wrasslin?

I know this is PW related, but i can't put it anywhere else.. so..

In a nut shell, a lot of you guys know my GF hasnt been well the last year or so but she wanted to do something to say thank you and with my birthday next week she thought she'd give an email to wwe to ask (very cheekily i might add) if she could get anything special to surprise me with and gave a quick run down of what the last year has been like. Within a few days they replied saying that it was a great story and they see what they could do, it mightn't be huge, but they will try to send me something special.

Anyway, I got a package today with a wwe kids magazine, a few autographed pics of sheamo, swagger, christian, cena etc and a wwe raw 1000 "i was there" shirt.
I was surprised because it had to be signed for and the sender was the mailroom of 1241 east main street stamford CT.

When she told me i was bowled over because I didnt even think they would even respond to an email like that let alone actually send anything out. Especially through FedEX?
Classy, classy move by the wwe and they have gone up bucketloads in my already pretty high esteem.

That is awesome. People may criticise WWE (and rightly so) but they can be very, very good to their fans sometimes. :)

Fantastic on the part of WWE, I must say.

They really are all about the fans in areas like this. They realise how much we put into them.

Some guy in the Games forum e-mailed Gabe Newell a few weeks ago and Valve sent him out stuff like this too, don't get any ideas though i'm sure Valve's inbox is full with irish mail

What's Valve, a games developer or something~? Gamers tend to be a little bit more active when it comes to writing e-mails (that's a guess now). Heart-warming stuff from WWE.

Only a multi billion dollar digital game vending service! :pac:

    Ever hear of steam?

Valve are on another level to any company when it comes to stuff like this, but still a nice gesture from WWE.

My osw group on Facebook does a fantasy football league every year so if u want in, PM me. just throwing that out there.

Otherwise best bet would be to set up your own team on the fantasy football team then create a PW boards league and give out the link via pm here :)

    JESUS!

I was excited when Fozzy tweeted this to me:
Stay tuned!! @Nato100: @FOZZYROCK Guys I've got a very important Question! Why aren't you coming to Ireland? #FOZZYIRELAND”

Was hoping for a Dublin Gig! I'm Definitely NOT traveling down to Cork!

*EDIT* Just saw a Date fore the Academy in Dublin. I'm a happy camper now! :)

Us out in the sticks constantly have to go to the big smoke for gigs so no sympathy from me there :p

Not worth the trip because they are shiite anyway!

I've heard of steam, when water is heated it turns into it. That's the sort of steam I deal in. I also hear that Fozzy are playing, but not many are expected to show as you will all be recovering from seeing my band, Jenkinstown tomorrow at 5p.m in The Pint. Do come, say hello.

    RIP Sid Waddell :(

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/darts/9470534/Sid-Waddell-darts-broadcasting-great-dies-aged-72.html
A hugely respected and influential commentator, with an inimitable style and snappy one-liners, Waddell played a major part in raising the profile of the sport in recent years.

He had been fighting bowel cancer and died on Saturday night, his manager, Dick Allix confirmed in a statement.

“With great sadness, we announce that following a long illness, broadcaster and author Sid Waddell died peacefully with all his family around him late last night, Saturday Aug 11, 2012,” the statement read.

Waddell was a key member of Sky Sports’ darts coverage, covering the PDC events since 1994 for the station, and quickly became renowned for his colourful and descriptive language.

right up there with JR as one of the greatest commentators of all time
