And if you use normal high temperature paint, you will get a smooth finish and it'll look crap! You need wrinkle paint

Thanks. Calipers need doing too, so prob do them all at once over a wknd

You'll need wrinkle paint for the rocker cover and normal smooth finish hammerite or similar for the calipers. If you are going the colour I think you are....getting wrinkle paint is going to be very, very tough

€75 sounds about right to me, as I reckon it's knackered or the engine has blown up or something...:D

Could be decent if you needed parts though?

If it was in Dublin and I had the space I'd probably snap it up, if its a genuine ad..

Just back from a drive, enjoying the new car! It's a very different drive to the a4... And still adjusting the the DSG box lol :p

Seems odd that the pic is in a scrapyard and it needs to be gone ASAP for €75

I'd be keeping away from that one. It's worth more than that in scrap.

And just one other thing, the gti doesn't seem to be as shocking as i was expecting?
Have done around 250 kms since I filled it, mostly motorway though, and it's just under 3/4's full, that can't be right can it?

I just got a letter from liberty insurance. So I taught it was one of those shop with us for better insurance. It was about a policy I had with QD about 5 years ago and there was some error on their part with overcharging. So they sent me a cheque for €80 .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Thats a scam, if you forward the cheque onto me signed at the back i will sort it out for you!

I wouldn't have said that's a scam looking just at the price. An 8 year old V8 6-Series with 135k miles ain't worth much these days...

There was a 04 black 645 one posted from carzone with less miles for 7950.
    So could be true!?

I think the big meets have been canceled in favour of smaller regional meets.
