Most clubs have sponsors on their jerseys

More the fact that they took so much pride in pointing out that they were not like most other clubs in that regard and in fact they paid for the privelage of having Unicef on their jersey :)

    I guess.

I know but Barcelona made a pretty big deal out of the fact that they didn't sully the jersey with a sponsor for their whole history up til 2 years ago [I will give them credit for the Unicef thing, fair play to them].

    I guess.

That's all it is I think, if they hadn't made such a big deal out of it people wouldn't have anything to make a big deal out of now :)

According to a Brazilian journalist a few days ago, Ganso has played his last game for Santos.

His representative said it before the match last week. He said he is trying to sort out a move to Internacional.

I actually think he'd be grand in England, certain players don't need to be quick or strong, their positional sense and reading of the game make up for it.

Like, you'd hardly call Scholes fast or strong but everything else he does makes up for it.

    Indeed.

Intelligence and awareness makes up for lack of natural speed.

    ______

Kenny Miller has joined Vancouver apparently. Should be officially confirmed soon.

A few years ago I would have said "Why the hell would you join a different Brazilian club if you are one of the leagues stars?"

But actually the Brazilian league is different now, it's more stable and clubs don't feel the need to sell abroad as much now.

    Why is he joining Internacional?

Internacional would be the only club that might be able to afford him afaik :) If they sell Oscar they should certainly be able to anyway

Apparently Reading have approached Super Pippo. Never going to happen but it would be awesome to see him celebrate like a boss in the Prem

It could easily happen, until now the only offers he'd got were from Atalanta and Watford.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,625 ✭✭✭flyswatter

He might regret it later if he misses the one chance he has to play abroad.

And they did sell out for €160m odd to sully the jersey with Qatar Foundation. More than a club indeed.

Yeah, but most clubs don't bleat on about sacrificing their commercial potential to save the kids, then take the blood money of an utterly brutal regime straight after

With his trophy haul I highly doubt he regrets anything.

    Its a long standing joke.

Probably be off in the morning.

No idea why we need him - just to wind up AVB probably

No fear of FPP - we made over 50 million from being Champions of... you know how it goes!
Plus Drogba and a few other big earners have now departed. Plus the new TV deal

That would be unbelievable. But Ganso is supposed to replace Oscar if he goes.

Chelsea are a long way off meeting the FFP rules. Hazard picked Chelsea for money. AVB's payout is half of what Chelsea earned from the champions league. The team overall still needs huge investment. I don't think Chelsea will be as lucky in Europe this season.

Chelsea are in big trouble, especially if they want to build a new stadium.
Also an unproven manager in charge. With Liverpool under Rodgers and Spurs making good moves in the market, Chelseas temporary spot amongst Europe's elite are numbered.

Chelsea were lucky last year. Let's not forget that.

I don't understand? Couldn't a mental patient, that's what you're insinuating I am, still post on Boards.ie from his bed via a Laptop? Are you a psychic? How the hell could you tell I was out of my bed? I find it equally disturbing that you think you can alert a nurse by posting on Boards.ie.

You sir, have lost the plot.

Also roll eyes make your point 100% more valid!
