You're early, if anything.

Steep learning curve but you'll grasp it quick enough, and you will die alot getting to grips with the game.

Cool, for some reason I thought it had been around a lot longer.

Once dying frequently is the norm, I don't mind the brutality

Will have a proper read over at the mod's site. If it's compatible with Steam versions of Arma and Arrowhead, and they show up on the Steam sale, I'll be a happy camper (not that I'm a camper in that sense. Please don't hate).

Maybe they needed something that n00bs started off with. Easy pickings. As for respawn; yes they will, but most likely they'll respawn far away.

The only time I've ever killed recently spawned survivors is when I happen to bump into them in either Cherno or Electro. And when I say bump into them, I mean literally coming face to face with them in a small, confined building.

At that sort of distance pulling the trigger is literally a split-second reflex, regardless of what they're carrying.

I definitely regret shooting them, though.

I don't believe it, I had all the gear I needed but I decided to explore the Airfield anyway, I had about 9000 HP, would have had more only once I got matches I never saw a live animal again. I had to leave earlier to go out just as I got to the airfield. When I spawned back my HP was 7000!!!!!!!!!! Then I got attacked by an invisible Z which got me to 5000 before I got bandaged. I was 3/4's of the way down south airfield when another z appeared from no where, I ran into a hanger thinking he would slow down but as I turned he was right on top of me, one hit then killed me, a complete joke. Had loads of blood bags, bandages and morphine, should have easily survived. If anyone is up there there is loads of goodies on my corpse, about 3 hangers from the end of runway.

M16A4 ACOG. Finally. I was days with a crossbow, started south east, up to north east, then over to north west and didn't even come across a shotgun on my travels. Then I find 2 M16A4s in a barracks.

I was lucky enough to respawn and found an axe close by, Really made a difference so anyway cleared some small town and founds loads of stuff a water bottle a gun and ammo, How can i fill up the water bottle ?

Anyway kept seeing this person joe die in the chat and thought poor joe, so i found this military base, was looking around and went up some stairs but when i was coming down thier was this person waiting at the bottom with an axe and i thought well hell my name is ted fundy lets cut this women up. Turned out to be joe. Then i felt bad.

Is their a way to people's names onscreen ?

Spawn-die-spawn-die-spawn-die-spawn-die and so on for 2.5 hours.

So any tips for a complete noob!!!

What I cant understand that if any other game was that brutal Id have logged out and uninstalled and never tried again.

But this just makes you want to go back for more....Just one more try to see if I can actually get anywhere.Then again I did find an empty bean tin and tried throwing it at a zombie!!!

Check it out, a new launcher for Dayz. Looks pretty good.

Gives you the time of the server and allows you to add friends so you can join their servers, etc.

Must give it a shot later.

Honestly thats the way it goes. LOL. Just as time and deaths go by, you will eventually start surviving longer between.

Best noob tip is get the hell away from any major towns, get a decent off game map and head to deer stands and barns and get some gear.

Only if the server has player names turned on. Much better with them off otherwise you can spot people via their name before you can actually see them.

Stay away from the major cities. Try find some barns that will give you a weapon, some of them also have a water pump there too. Things get much easier the more familiar you become with the map.

I only started 3 days ago, my first few hours were painfully brutal. I died constantly and made no progress but you learn fast as you basically have to.

I now have an AK74 Kobra with 8 clips, a makarov with 5 clips, a guille suit, a water bottle, a watch, compass, binoculars, a hunting knife, matches, a hatchet, a toolbox, 2 tents, wire fence kit, plenty of meat and a jeep hidden away! However I know death is coming...

Keep at it, you'll get there faster than you think!

My biggest tip for anyone starting out. Stay away from Novy and Stary. I've never made it inside either and I hate them.

You've only been playing for three days and have already gotten a vehicle. Iv been playing since Early May and only been able to find and use a bicycle
