Its not like they are radically changing their policy though, Palacio has been brought in and he is 30.

Yeah but I dont think he is on high wages.

That's a very good signing for Reading. Played some decent stuff last season and should be assured of alot more game time

Strange one given his age and his wage demands (probably)

Latest news is that Liverpool and spurs have the exact same offer on the table for sigurdsson.

Also Underarmour UK have tweeted that tomorrow is an exciting day, likely new kit to be officially released.

You must be worried if that is true?

No not really. Exciting and nervous times at the club, new stadium almost here as well. The club is going places it should really sell it's self to players, if it doesn't then it's just not meant to be.

To me it sounds like a rumour that was made up to make it sound like he didn't chose Spurs for the money

Also no matter the outcome can't wait for the match v liverpool in Baltimore given everyone calling Sigurdsson a mercenary if he ended up at liverpool it'd be pretty funny. Especially because at no point did he actually come out and say anything it was pure speculation on why he'd chose Spurs over liverpool.:D

How do you know the original rumour wasn't made up to explain why he would choose spurs over Liverpool.:P

So because a few people who got annoyed called him a mercenary proves what?
If he goes to Spurs IMO he'll be going there because of the money coupled with he'd be joining a club that finished above Liverpool for the last 3 seasons.

I think why people are annoyed is that he supposedly called off his move to Swansea because they didn't have a manager and he was joining them to work with Rodgers.

Time will tell I guess but he does look like he is going to Spurs and a very good signing he looks at the reported fee.

    Good luck to him :)

Because it came from very reliable people.
I've not seen anyone reliable saying Liverpool have matched Spurs offer.
The dogs on the street know that Spurs gazumped Liverpool and I have no problem with that.
But I will say who knows what will happen until a deal is signed nothing is definite but I do expect him to join Spurs now even though I did think he was joining Liverpool at one stage.

It'd be funny if he signed for Liverpool due to the aformentioned people basically having to row back completly small minority of Liverpool fans but still funny!

I think we have had the Manager sorted for a while and AVB should be signing now that his Gardening leave with Chelsea has ended.

I'd say the manager is in place alright at Spurs but only in the last few days.
I think it would be naive to believe that this manager chose Sigurdsson and Levy decided to chase him then.

I don't think it's unbelievable that we are willing to pay more than you but the figure of 70,000 is definetly off the mark, anyone that knows Levy knows he has a wage structure and will not move from it has caused a lot of issues in the past when trying to sign players.

Nah I'd say Levy and Sherwood already had decided to get him but when actually dealing with the player the manager was likely already decided upon.
Maybe the reason for the delay in Liverpool signing him was him waiting to find out who the manager was?

Also sorry I'm constantly a post behind!

I don't understand why people assumed Liverpool delayed in signing him.
After turning down a move that was agreed to Swansea he took a holiday in Florida and let an agent sort things out.
Nothing unusual in that as you can't put a gun to someones head and force them to sign.
Liverpool seem to be trying to be more prudent this summer and that's no bad thing IMO.
Forget Sherwood choosing the player. Ben SMith of the BBC says it was Levy's call and he's usually correct in my experience. :)
