      If you're looking for simple dresses that aren't satiny I got mine in sheena's boutique on Oliver plunkett street. I was the same as you in that I didn't want a typical debs dress and they had some nice dresses! Pamela Scott is worth a look too :)

      Edit: that dress you linked would be lovely for a debs :)

      Question for the UK based ladies of the forum - I'm in the UK for the next 3 weeks and wondering what brands (Clothes/beauty wise) is about that you can't get in Ireland worth having a look at?? I'm based in Liverpool. :)

      M&S* that dress is fabulous :) don't feel like you have to wear a particular type of dress. Mine came to my knee and I got it in AlWear the day before my debs.... (I was really only going for the party :pac:)

      Ah the debs, I loved my dress :) Got it about 7 months before the event, at a sample sale for only €70! Alterations were about €20. It was chocolate brown, full length and I wore a leopard print cropped jacket over it. Too bad the night was crap!

      I got mine in Monsoon. Was quite pricey, but my Mother paid for it for some absurd reason. And I still had to get alterations on it! Nice dress actually, pity I ruined it at the debs..

      My mother bought mine as well. I thought that was the norm though.

      Mine was €59 at a knackery shop in a shopping centre (it sold pink velour tracksuits with a backwards playboy bunny on them...) and there in the corner was the dress. Wasn't looking for it, just saw it and knew. Wish I could fit back into it, it's beautiful :( Red strapless cocktail dress, to the knee, with black lace over the red.

      I had my dress made, it cost E200. E100 for the materials and E100 to be made. The lady who made the dress is a good friend of the family though so she probably charged a very reduced price for the labour.:p I loved it, it was a coffee brown, and had a drape over the front and back.

      I think my mum and I got my dress in Principles if I remember correctly. It was a plain purple dress with a cris-cross back. I had to ask my mum's friends son to come with me due to lack of other options:o And then ask him to ask his friend would he go with my friend..Double:o

      Just spent the last 20 mins trying to buy the dress below from Asos only to discover they wouldn't ship it to Ireland. Very sad:( Had been looking for a nice cat print dress for ages.

      I hate it when that happens, it's one of the main reasons why I only wear earrings that are bought in a jewellers.

      I do have a couple of cheaper pairs which are OK though, but mostly I stick to the jewellers for my earrings.

      Hope your ear isn't too bad! :(

      Are they studs or ear wires/hooks? It is easy enough to change the hooks and silver ones are cheap enough. It's the main reason I started making jewellery because I couldn't wear fashion jewellery.

      Is it just me or has Asos stopped shipping a lot of stuff to Ireland lately? I was the same as you trying to buy a dress the other day, found a gorgeous one and it wouldn't ship here :mad:

      They're studs. I've never ever had a reaction to earrings, always buy from the high street, this is the first time it's happened! Won't bother with Oasis again though.

      Is there any student/other types of discounts in American Apparel in town? Online I am able to get a 15% discount with my first order if I sign up to the newsletter, but with shipping and wait time it doesn't work out worth it?

      I think they do student discount, 10%. Not completely sure though.

      I didn't think you could in Ireland either. As far as I'm aware, you can't.

      I really wish H and M delievered to Ireland. In my experience, they have way nicer stuff in their shops in the US and Europe. They have a better selection, maybe I'm just unlucky whenever I go into H and M?

      Oh you're the culprit :pac: Oh goodness don't stop posting on my behalf! I was simply curious as to how H&M decided they'd ship to you and not me :p Looks like I'll have to use my legs to make my purchases :P

      I agree with you they do have nicer stuff on their other websites, the only thing from H&M I have is a few tops, because I rarely find anything else in-store that I like.
