Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got a stainless steel Vmax today - it has the 3volt default setting, led screen can be shut off and it has better voltage calibration.

It's a totally different and much improved device compared to the V1,

Good value as its the newer version, I really liked the build quality and the menu in the other one but it just packed too hard, this one sounds a lot better with the voltage calibration sorted out. Where did you purchase it from?

I've been meaning to pick one up.....but the heavy settings of the first one have turned me off slightly.

Does 3v feel like 3v on this one???

It still feels heavy duty but cartos don't burn as easy.
I couldn't use a Nova on the V1 without burning but I can on this one so something is improved.

    Hi folks,

I bought this kit: http://e-smokeireland.eu/XL-Dual-Coil-Starter-Kit and am finding it fantastic. However, I'm not sure what model it corresponds to, is it the equivalent of the Ego-T?

If my assumption is correct, can I use something like this: http://www.irishvapers.ie/cartomizers/195-vision-ego.html on it?

I've been doing some reading, but the more I do, the more confused I seem to get!

This says that an atomizer is reusable: http://www.ecigarettereview.org/atomizers-vs-cartomizers.html, while a cartomizer is disposable, yet, I've been refilling my cartomizers with e-liquid? Am I getting my terminology hopelessly mixed up?

Finally, with the system I have, can I use a cart, or a atomizer? I'd sometimes like to have something prefilled, and which I could dispose of when finished, instead of having to haul the juice around with me.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

you're kinda getting it half right

those are ego batteries, so you can use the vision ego on it and anything else with a 510 or ego connections. (also 306, fits into 510 connections but there's precious few of them around)

cartomisers are disposable because they'll last you 3-4 days to a week before you have to bin them. and atomiser is in theory meant to last quite a bit longer than that, although they never did for me.. which is why I moved to cartomisers pretty early on after I started vaping.

the vision ego might be good if you just want to carry it around , but they do go through juice very fast. you can get mega cartomisers for ego batteries .. basically the same idea as what you have.. but bigger with more filler inside to soak up more juice

depending on how often you vape it might be neccesary to bring a small 10ml bottle around with you to top up. with cartomisers it's best to keep them damp at all times, it keeps them living longer before you have to bin them. you can fill one up and then vape it till bone dry, but it'll die a lot faster that way

You can basically use anything that says it has Ego or a 510 connection on the batteries you have.

I love the mega cartomisers and also use normal cartomisers with a tank - you'll see that being called a DCT. I like both as you don't have to refill too often. Have also used the vision stardusts.

Not a big fan of atomisers - find them too messy and fussy and the throat hit isnt the same but some people love them

Both atomisers and cartomisers are re-usable but atomisers tend to have a longer life afaik

    http://www.bargainvapour.com/-Petra_Tank_Pre-order/p1274299_7129665.aspx

something like this is what septbaby was talking about, a cartomiser tank

you put a little hole in your cartomiser (boge cartomisers are best for these imo, same basic idea as the ones you have now) so the juice can soak into the filler. fill the tank with your liquid and you're sorted for the day

there's about 5 million different typs of cartomiser tank. that one isnt in stock yet, dont know when it will be
but the mini-sub tank from momandpopvapourshop.com is pretty good, has a handy screw hole for filling too so you never have to take the top off unless you're replacing a dead cartomiser.

i quite liked the chibi tank from parkesvaping.com but you havec to use a syringe to fill them and it can be pretty fiddly. both of these tanks are under 10 dollars, shipping is pretty cheap from th states and takes about a week. the replacement cartomisers (and a cartomiser punch to put the hole in the cartomiser) can be found on irish sites

start having a look around for cartomiser tanks... thre's so many options you'll just have to look, decide what you're willing to spend and try one or two out

    Not a bad start so!

I went with the cartomizer option based on your advice in this forum, and I do like it. I think I'll order some larger cartomisers, as I'm either a) not filling them correctly, b) vaping too much. Probably somewhere in between. I sometimes start to get that slightly burned taste rather soon after filling, and I need to top it up again. Is there a hard-and-fast rule as to how much you fill, or is this something that you just start to get a feel for?

Finding the battery life good, and have the spare, and I think I'm beginning to instinctively know when the cart needs to be replaced, so enjoying it so far.

Thanks' for all the advice, legend of the boards status awaits you!

you'll just get a feel for it. generally it's best to fill it up slowly and when it starts to drop out the battery connection. put it down for a few minutes, and put a few more drops in on top to make sure it's well saturated (but not soaked.. it's a tricky enough balance to get the hang of initially). make sure to wipe the battery connection with a tissue or something before you connect it to the battery.

it could be the juice you're vaping too although I doubt it. generally I found juics very high in vg tended to dry out a lot faster in cartomisers and needed topping up very often but most juices you'll find around are higher in pg so that's not too likely to be the problem. it could be the length of your draws, maybe you're vaping a bit more than you think, etc etc etc

cartomiser tanks might be the way for you if you find the topping up a pain in the balls. or the vision ego v2's maybe. there's so many options out there.. sometimes I wonder if it's too much as it can get unwieldy reccomending 10 different products to people

Was expecting a big delivery this morning so I made the stupid mistake of not bringing any juice with me to work :o

I am now stuck with an empty stardust and a 306 that hasn't been topped up since last night

My janty stick arrived in the post with 5 pre filled carts but the atomizer was missing for the box

I'm using an Ego-T since last year and have recently picked up an Ego-C kit.
As I'm still alternating between cigs and vaping I probably havent spent as much time
as I should keeping up to speed on developments in the vaping world.

I've ordered some eGo Vision V2 and Smoktech 510 DCT V2 parts today. Please excuse my
ignorance, but is it just a case of filling these with juice and attaching to my
existing ego batteries? I also have a variable ego twist battery on the way, can I use
that with my current tanks and the new Vision and Smoketech carts?

With the ego Vision and the Smoketech, are the internal parts replaceable? I've noticed discussion around people punching holes in carts and replacing parts.

    Cheers!

    In a word, Yes!

eGo Vision V2 is not designed to be rebuildable, the V3 is. The V2, can be if you take it apart, and don't mind bulding your own coils from scratch. The V3 is actually designed to be rebuilt, by buying replacement parts.
With the DCT, you just change out the cartomizer with a new one, when it dies...you can buy prepunched carto's, or regulars and punch them yourself...

Not sure where to post this but thought it might fit in here. I came across this site recently, some of ye might know it already http://www.stevevape.com/, I think its nicely laid out and has some good reviews and vaping news section in it as well, might interest a few people here.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

Yeah, came across that a few times, he has some good reviews and does good write ups of any news going on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

Hadn't heard about this story, were TW upset by reviews or negative posts about them??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

That story took over this thread.

He's got a grudge against UKV, ECITA and Decadent Vapours, because the lady who owns Decadent Vapours also helps run ECITA and she goes out with UKV admin.
He sees all of this as a conspiracy of some sort where non-ECITA members are treated unfavourably or receive harsh treatment despite plenty of mod-makers, ecig shops and juice-makers on UKV not being members of ECITA either, and none of them feel bullied about it.

He took umbrage to someone asking if TW's reputation is deserved after a few sly digs in a fairly positive TW mod review thread, and people started going on about his ban-hammer regime on TW's forum and the times they received bad service.

Mr. Cropper felt this was unfair, started blathering on about slander and libel, people being sequential conformists cosying up to UKV, and that the 'Ecig on bus' scare was just the government flexing it's muscles to terrorists before the Olympics.
Once he started with that conspiracy talk, people started calling him mad and reminding him to take his meds, etc, then he started mouthing off about aliens, the NWO, Olympic Tube bombings.
The he asked UKV that all mentions of him and TW be deleted and disallowed from now on, and threat of legal action abound.
UKV shut down to cover their asses in the interim, and printed off over 6000 pages of forum posts to let the police decide who libelled whom (and this doesn't paint Mr. Cropper in a good light).

    Very exciting week!

To be fair to him on that point- I'm of the opinion the police were all geared up for such an event and it was a heaven-sent opportunity to practice their new techniques and toys. Who knows, the bloke on the bus might even have been a plant, but I doubt that; just some idiot who didn't have the common courtesy to clear it with the driver or nearby passengers.
All the other conspiracy theories are just mumbling into his beard.

i've been boycotting them for years on account of their pricing. with all the alternatives i was always shocked people bought stuff from them.

    Agreed, shipping costs were unbelievable.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,756 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

Is their gear just rebranded joyetech stuff? Or is it copies? Their juice looks suspiciously like Dekang too, just @ 3 times the price.

Obviously the screwdriver and stuff is originals...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 339 ✭✭Bubba9

His stuff is original as far as I know. He said a while back that his base was sourced in Ireland...no idea where. I bought from them once when I started out and was happy but his prices, the garish branding and his obnoxious behaviour regarding UK Vapers won't have me hurrying to buy anything from him ever again.

Although I never purchased from them, I have been on the site a few times. Looking at the products I think that most are simply rebranded with an OEM service from manufacturers in China - not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing.

Surely if you were getting your stuff re-branded @ source it wouldn't justify such a price increase?

Filed it up and stuck it on the lavatube and nowt reading 9.9A like theres no conection
Stuck it on a ego and it worked quite well :)

I'm gonna wager you popped the top of the DCT back on while it was on the LT?
The pressure forces it through the holes/slots, and out the carto's battery-end.
I've made the same mistake, try this method next time:

Well yes i did do that but it wasant on the LT when i did it.
