Owen Hargreaves leaving Man City during the summer. Contract is up apparently and is not being renewed.

    Only 4 appearances.

Real Madrid are after David Silvia
Jose Mourinho sees the Manchester City star as the ideal replacement for Kaka, who is set to join Paris Saint Germain.

President of Genoa has confirmed that Rodrigo Palacio is now an Inter Milan player. Fee is rumored to be somewhere between €10M to 15M according to few media sources in Argentina.

He isn't an Inter player quite yet, he just said there is an agreement and they might discuss a swap. I'll be very disappointed if Inter sign him, I don't think he is good enough for Inter anyway but this is supposed to be a summer of rebuilding for the long term and a 30 year old is not what I would consider a good signing for that. There are already enough old players who the club need to get rid of, why sign another.

    Surprised this hasn't been mentioned.

First big name to leave Villarreal in Diego Lopez has signed for Sevilla on a 5 year deal. Still a good keeper IMO, probably going to be Palop's long term successor I reckon. Bit harsh on Varas some would say though.

You know what the deal is with Rossi, Nilmar, Valero, Bruno etc. yet?

Reckon Bruno is pretty much a lock to stay though...

Article in Marca saying that Higuain (heavily rumoured to be leaving this summer) has had positive meetings and will probably stay at Real Madrid

Would be surprised if Higuain left, if Benzema got injured there'd be do direct replacement. That would mean Mourinho would have to look for someone happy to play second fiddle to Benzema.

Can't see how this makes sense, Ozil is far better than him, and younger. Unless he's happy to play the last 20 minutes of most games.:P

I'd love Higuain at Chelsea actually and with Drogba gone theres certainly a place for another striker.

Same as myself, I think he'd be a hit in the EPL to.

Cant see Real wanting to sell him though.

He could force his way out though, if he got a good offer of a regular start, CL games. No player of his quality would be happy to be on the bench, and with Callejon forcing his way into the team too, he might get even less chances.

    Come on, Sir Alex...:pac:

As an Arsenal fan I'd happily leave RVP pack his bags off to Real Madrid if they sent Higuain and a cheeky few pound back in our direction.

The guy is world class and should be starting.

I haven't heard a peep. I can't see any of them staying tbf. I'd have Rossi or Valero at Liverpool, former despite the injury problems. Price depending of course. Nilmar for Dortmund too would be a nice option, just to have that raw pace to use behind the lines. I wouldn't be surprised if Roma aren't back in for him though as they were close to signing him a year ago.

Impeccable timing seemingly. Lot of rumors going around that Borja Valero will sign for Malaga possibly today.

Was discussing this at work with a colleague this morning - this is exactly the type of action I'd like to see Liverpool getting in on as a fan of theirs.

Villareal have some great players that we should be looking into.

Plus it'd rule out City getting him so not selling to a rival.

I'd imagine Arsenal fans would prefer to keep RVP but were he to go, that would be the best possible outcome imo

Aston Villa release defender Carlos Cuellar

Player of the Year in Scotland in 07/08, signed for £8M by Villa that summer, played in patches for 3 years, they tried to sell him back to Rangers with a year left on his contract, and now he leaves on a free.

    Well done Villa, great effort...

Best defender at the club too. Its no wonder the club is in a shambles right now. Afaik he was considering Villareal. Deffo heading back to Spain

Wants to stay in England he said, Villareal are relegated so won't be going there.

Do you think Real would go after RVP and offer Higuain AND money?

I do agree he should and would start for most teams in Europe, hes excellent IMO and I rate him more then Benzema but Jose prefers Benzema I'm goign to trust his judgements.

Benzema has been better this season, fully deserved his starting place.

In other news, Tottenham are apparently on the verge of signing Damiao from Internacional, the same club Sandro came from. The fee is reportedly $24 million. Don't know how reliable this source is, but we have been chasing this lad since last summer, and it would be about time we land him.

Rotating 2 top class strikers that are scoring 25-30 goals and also having C.Ronaldo scoring 60 goals is alwats a good problem to have.

What do ya make of Sandro? Do ya rate him? I'd be of the opinion that hes better then Huddlestone but in a similar mould.

Sandro is very highly rated by Spurs fans, imo he's up there with the best DMs in the PL. He made bits of Chelsea last season (ie 10/11) at the Bridge and scored a screamer. He only really got to show his worth though in the last 2/3 months of this season because of Parker, next season I have no doubt he'll go on to cement his starting position, he is a monster and if Spurs don't get CL football he'll be moving on. He's extremely athletic and very good on the ball to boot.

He's a far better player than Parker. Should be first choice alongside Modric.

    English > Brazilian

    ;)

I'd agree with THFC though, I think Sandro is a great player and Spurs should accomdate him whenever they can.

You don't know how much I'd argued for this in the last few months! I got lambasted by some in the Spurs Supporters Club for saying we should drop Parker. I think Parker is very good, but he drastically over-rated, he's forward game leaves a lot to be desired, I find him more of a hindrance than help when playing for Spurs due to his enthusiasm to get involved in the attacks. I've said it too in the England squad thread, if he starts in the Euro's, England will have real problems. Unfortunately Harry is one of the people that drastically over-rates Parker, he didn't drop him until he got injured, when it was painfully obvious a change was needed.

His enthusiasm works well for the camera's and highlights etc. but if you watch him for a whole game he just doesn't have the intelligence and positional sense required at that level.
