If I was only in Galyway, seriously though, lap that up. If I was there I would pretty much grab it all.

Also any recommendations for myself tonight? I have tried most but looking for something new to try. I am a big hop head and I also love imperial Stouts.

O Dell IPA, if you can get it is hoptastic.

As for imperial stouts, most of them are worth a lash.

Had myself a little tasting session from my Tesco purchases last night. Greene King IPA, average, perfectly ok but nothing to write home about. Fursty Ferret, quite pleasant, but Clotworthy Dobbin..where have you been all my life! As much as I have criticised them over the years, hopefully the promotion will be a success for Tesco and broaden the market for craft beer / ale at the same time.

Trouble spelt-saison - really nice beer and reminds me of Belgium.

Nice creamy texture and not too cold. Hardly any carbonation and a nice bitter after taste similar to a pink grapefruit.

it's not just galway, most Tescos should have the Goose Island. I just picked some up here in Louth. 50c cheaper than the drinkstore.

1.50 a bottle is 1.30 cheaper, if that is true, I will indeed be buying a ton.

Had a pint of it on Friday, and was well impressed.

Hey guys - I keep an eye on this thread for ideas. I tried a few new ones to me over the weekend as the local mace got in new stock and a new bar opened up close by which seems to have a very good selection of beers.

Ginger Joe - Alcoholic Ginger Beer, really liked this but I like non alcoholic ginger beer anyhow, think I found my new fine weather drink instead of cider to have in the garden. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who likes ginger but it's very easy to drink like a mineral :)

Trouble Brewing Dark Arts Porter and their Ór Golden Ale - never tried either of these before but heard of them. Neither are bad but I prefer O'Hara's Porter. Very good design on the bottles too to make them stand out.

Butte Creek Organic India Pale Ale - got that in the pub on the recommendation of one of the staff - very nice drink, I would drink ale from time to time and it's not bad at all. Will have to go back and try some more.

Just finished a bottle of 8 Degrees Barefoot Bohemian Pilsner. It's seriously meh. Absolutely nothing going on with it, no taste at all.

It is indeed, the Motueka is my favorite hop so that beer was excellent, not so fond of the Galaxy hops. Challenger is pretty good too, that is what I have drank at the moment, still got 2 bottles left.

If you haven't tried, Great Divide Brewing - YETI, that is my favorite imperial stout, incredible stuff.

Reminded me too much of a wheat beer and I just can't drink them :(

Texture and carbonation are great though.

i hear that Founders CBS Imperial Stout is also worth checking out. Its a shame the US don't export more.

How was it? I've got a bottle of this at home since xmas and thinking of drinking it soon.
SomeDose, the De Molen Rasputin was good. Reminded me of a mix between Brooklyn Chocolate Stout(little less choc flavour) with a slight barleywine finish(think Raging Dog's barleywine). Something I did notice was that it wasn't sitting so well in my stomach, not sure why. Possibly should have let it age for a while more...Wouldn't get it again due to that problem though.

For any hop heads, if you ever get the chance to try these, they were sublime

Magic Rock's Human Cannonball: IIPA, 9.2%
    Kernel's IPA

I think there are some amazing stouts in Europe/UK without the need to lovingly dream about their US counterparts.

It is indeed, the Motueka is my favorite hop so that beer was excellent, not so fond of the Galaxy hops.
Had this on draft, it was so good I would have stayed there 24/7 drinking it. Sorachi Ace didn't do it for me after the smell promised so much, I don't like Saison's though. Would love to try more beers with this hop varietal though, don't think there are any other beers around using it at the moment...?

Excellent, at least I know now. But I refuse to say it like that the next time I'm asking for one. I'll just ask for one of those expensive Norwegian beers! :D

Having a Heen & Weer by Brouwerij De Molen. Really nice beer but I'm puzzled that it's described as a Belgian Triple, tastes more like an APA. In fact, it reminds me an awful lot of Goose Island.

Also, wtf do they put in the bottled in De Molen? Another Mr. Whippy head on one of there beers. Only managed to pour a third of it out and it was just frothy head.

This is what it looked like once I let it settle for a while.

I was expecting my Rasputin to fizz up when I opened it, luckily it didn't

Am drinking NORREBRO BRYGHUS LITTLE KORKNEY ALE, wow this is nice. I love that harsh cough medicine type flavours with barley wine, and this has plenty of it. Its bit like Brewdog's Alchemist, but harsher and less of a rip off. Anybody else try it ?
