you have been zero help spearo, i recommend you keep your voice down in the library in the future and study for your exams instead of writing pointless posts on the internet.
This one is just someone trolling. Only 18/19 posts like.

Also, he said he had a sandwich, not that he was talking.

    Anywho... back off topic?

If you were at all, and i'd be surprised if you were, how did noise levels compare with UL. Well i can tell you from personal experience and much anecdotal stories from many mature postgrads that UL is BY FAR the worse.
UL, while it has drawbacks is far from a bad university, and far from a bad library. I find all resources when I need them. While louder than usual today, I've gotten on with it....and its nearly 9pm...its grand now!

What has cutbacks got to do with noise in the library? unless you saying they cut back on library superintendents? I think the university rankings speak for themselves with regard to how bad a university UL is.

if you slow your rant you'll see i said draw backs.

    DCU - One year
    Hanze - 6 months
Rjks - two weeks - during exams
DIT - one week - during exams
    UL - 4 years
Munich - 6 days (nothing was going on)
Milan - 1 week (nothing was going on)
Trinity UCC LIT - 1 day (flying research - LIT is loud though)

and wait for it...UL is my favourite library!!! :D

its the attitude abhors me! your just attacking the general student population. this is why there is a similar dislike for mature students!

I'm not aiming this at you...

this is my time to bitch about daily life in UL

i dislike when mature students ask silly questions, hold up the whole class, moan about colleagues simply because they are older and believe they deserve more than the rest of the student body.

ill admit though...ive met a few mature's and they were dead on,...just a few bad apples.

Then go somewhere else. Jesus, I'd hate to meet you.

I know this is a bitching thread, but if there's nothing that can be done about it then leave it at that. And for someone who supposedly spent a lot of time at different universities/libraries, your ability to write is appaling.

Maybe if you spent less time on Boards and more time looking for a new place to study you wouldn't have a problem

well whether it was real or troll....

i think our fun is over :(

    back to the study. sigh.

There should be a separate circle of hell for people who eat smelly food and watch noisy videos in the library.

DCU for a year doing computer applications (changed course)
Milan - visiting girlfriend and did some work when i was over there
    Munich - researching FYP
Trinity- studing with roommate while in dublin (he got me in)
    same for DIT
LIT was just a pass through
    Hanze was erasmus
Rjks was in the same city, and was the only place open on sundays. also I lived in the city of groningen and it was easier for me to walk to that uni than to get a 15 minute bus ride costing 1.60. if you want more detail, the bus from the city to the hanze was the number 15.

now less of your doubting missy. and now i shall indeed assume a condescending role because your doubt in me simply constitutes your own doubts about yourself.

UL No. 1! UL No. 1!

Just something I've noticed and being meaning to post this for quite a while...the double standards of clamping in the foundation. If security see a car parked out of place mon - fri 9-6 they will salivate all over the foundation car park in an effort to clamp it.
However if theres a concert or some gammy children's play etc on in the concert hall, it's suddenly perfectly acceptable to dump the car where ever people feel like and in a lot worse spots(on top of grass etc) then any student might have left the car during the day. Ohhh but because it's not a student who parked the car and because UL almost have an onus to provide parking for these concert goers then it's acceptable. Punish the people with fines that actually go to UL but leave these visitors off. I'd love to see the faces on these people when they see a dirty clamp attached to their car after a concert, don't think it would go down too well :P

The number of people trolling is low. The number of trolls is a lot higher.

happened me last night...came in at 8 and there was some ****e on and nare a space to be seen so i parked on grass in front of the white house...

generally i think 9-6 weekdays and they will ride ya...outside that then dont seem too bothered.

stuff that bugs me is the general crap going through the college..like marathons and stuff...blocking off car parks, and entrances.

its so silly but its annoys the hole off me when students are put out because UL want to be seen hosting stuff...i even know meself its a stupid opinion to have...but sure

So my German lecturer decided that it would be hilarious to post all the lecture notes and then give us a sheet of the words we would need to learn in detail (historyy stuff). This sheet is sectioned off into four BUT...He decided it be hilarious to mix them all up instead of putting them into the same date/year/era category.

I spent all my day yesterday sifting through eleven weeks of lectures to find measly words either in german or english or anything relating to it...
    So irritated...-.-
How can I study for an exam like that?!

I used to live in Kilmurry, opposite the running tracks. Went outside one day and there was a lovely large jeep clamped outside my door. After laughing at whatever poor ****er got clamped, I went to college and came back. Didn't occur to me that Munster were training on the pitch that day. Later that night, about 10-11 there was screeching outside my window. Looked out and here are three big guys cutting the clamp off the jeep with an angle grinder. Had a closer look and low and behold, it was a [very well known] Munster player. He got in the jeep and drove off afterwards

Lads if i get a Qca of 2.48 passing all my exams in first semester and a Qca of 1.8 in second getting 2 D's do i have to do repeats

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 270 ✭✭Ginge Young

I think you have to get an overall QCA of 2.0 or over in the semester for it to be classed as a D. If your semester QCA is below 2.0 I think you have to repeat. I could be wrong on that though, maybe call into the SU and just double check with Aoife Kenny.
