Hi, after having battery troubles we have lost the code for our Mondeo radio :(. we have read on here that if you press the 6 and 1 the serial number comes up. the number that came up is 50702000 - the car is a mondeo ghia and is a 51 reg. Can I get a code from that information? thanks

    Hi guys,

I had to disconnect the battery to sort my broken electric wing mirror out, so now no radio!

    It's a Ford .

    Radio is:

    model - 6000 CD SINGLE CD-KW2000 FDB2006
    Serial No - V428569

    Thanks

Dealer looking for 25e to give it to me.

    Howdy.

Am also in need of a radio code for 2007 Ford Focus. (Battery dead after leaving lights on.)

My radio is built into the dashboard. I just sat and fiddled with it for 5 mins trying to remove it, so I could get the serial number. No joy. Is there some magic release button that I am overlooking? ( I don't have a manual for the car, so I can't look it up)

While I am at it (apologies if I am off topic) can anyone provide advice on where to source a manual for my car? I have already called several Ford dealerships. None of them stock spare manuals for old cars, just new ones.

    Ta.

What are they called? Will a hardware shop have them, or are they car specific? How much are they?

The dealer wants 20 quid to look up the code. Think I'd prefer paying that to be honest, than hacking away at my dashboard with sharp objects that I have to go out and pay for as well.

They are radio removal keys, ask for them in any motor factors. They might even do it for you ;).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

What is a motor factor & where would I find one? (Live in Dublin in the IFSC)

(Sorry, just moved here from the US, and Irish driving terms are confounding me. )

Is it an auto parts store, like Pepboys or Autozone?

    Thanks for trying anyway Waterford

In my Mondeo(2009) the code is in the glove compartment. As you open the compartment lid it is stuck to the inside. It is a 4 digit number. To input the code press button 1 until the first digit of the code is correct.....eg,if it 6 press button one until 6 appears on the screen.Continue with pressing button 2 for the second code number until the code is input, then press either button 5 or 6(I'm almost sure it#s 6,so try 6 first. The radio will come back to life.

well boy.. 3852 is the correct code for your radio. Do you know how to put the code in? push button "1" three times, button "2" eight times, button "3" five times, button "4" two times and then confirm with button "5". That's it lad.
