Ordered one of these today, fan noise from my HX850 was driving me cracked and it was complete overkill for my needs.

Better stock up on the oul bananas!!:D

Nice, thanks, might bump the processor down/up to the 35W i3, from the 2100, so as I can put more power to a GPU.

Nice! I was looking at those the other day as a "what-if" type upgrade.

Wanted the Super-Flower Golden Silent in a bad way, but after a few calls to HWVS this morning I couldn't pay via Paypal on my first order or summit:confused:

Should be more than enough power for my PC and no fan means no noise. Hopefully no coil whine.

4K TVs will not be anywhere near that price though in fairness.

Perhaps Sony is planning on releasing a 4k res tv around the same time as the PS4 launch? A cheaper one of course.

Thats what I am planning on doing as well. I was trying to buy one second hand even in case it all went wrong! There was one in the UK and he was going to swap for my FT02 but postage was just too much.

Lads thanks for the help on graphics card, I am happy enough to get a hd7750. Just got a few more things running through my head.

I made a htpc a few weeks ago buying an Intel Core i3-2105 which i think was overkill. I was thinking about replacing it with a g530 and using the i3-2105 in my new computer. Although I see almost every processor for a new build now is the i5-2500. What would i be missing if I went with the i3?

probably silly question but why is it better to get an expensive processor with hd graphics when you are gonna be using a discreet graphics card anyways? The other features that come along with it I assume?

In the bios (asrock h61m) on my htpc should I have the cpu fan set to full or automatic? Its full at the min and i dont think its too stressed.

    thank you:D

That black model is the exact one I have.
Does the job, nothing special about it really.

Never underestimate a comfortable keyboard/mouse, gaming or not.

Are they so much better though, for general use?
Spending triple the price for extra gaming buttons on a keyboard and extra settings on mice isn't really appealing to me.

You don't necessarily need extra buttons, I said comfort for a reason. I don't game on my laptop (about to change in a month), but I find it much better to use a proper fullsize, form-fitting mouse. Your hand will be on the mouse most of the time you're on the PC regardless of whether you're gaming or not. As for the keyboard, if you barely type there's probably no point in getting a good keyboard but otherwise look around a bit.

What laptop are you getting? I've been debating whether or not to sell my Android tablet and move back to a laptop for months.

Badly worded. I'm not, building a 1300 quid PC :pac:

I'm not sure on price Osmosae but I do know they cost Fair bit. Can I ask how do the work? Is it they work inconjuntion with normal hard drives or are they suppose to replace them?

Most people use them as an OS drive as it boots up Windows in a matter of seconds, that takes about 20GB if you disable hibernation.
Then with the rest you could install most your programs, browsers, word, photoshop stuff like that.

Then if you have a larger hard drive, you can use that for games, movies, music etc.

A 64Gb Crucial M4 (most recommended one around here) is 75euro on hardwareversand.
But you can get a 120Gb Petrol OCZ drive on Dabs (or Pixmania, can't remember) for around 125euro.

Yes. If you have lots of games there is a program called steam mover you can use to have some games on the solid state, and the rest on the larger hard drive.
