How about letting the ladies of the lounge vote on what they want? Or if it ain't broke.....

There was an off topic chat thread here before and it was stopped as people complained it was too cliquey and the mods were very adamant that the off topic chat didn't need to be there. This thread, while absolutely brilliant, is basically that off topic thread under a different name.
I remember it. But the mods obviously don't see a problem here if they themselves post in here. It would have been locked a long time ago if it didn't work.

Nope my memory isn't the same these days, old age and all that. Can you post them again please :)

I was just making a suggestion. I don't even post here anymore cause I don't like the thread, just kind felt like it today for some reason. But anyways! :)

It was a suggestion with bitcheyness in it tho. How do you think others in here who really enjoy this thread would feel about it being changed just to suit you and one or two others?

Like I said earlier, let the ladies vote on what they want and be done with all the sly digs.

I have to admit I'm the same as Princess Peach, I love reading the thread, but frequently feel like I can't really contribute because it feels like I'm interrupting a long running conversation between posters. Mind you, that might be because I've cut down my boards times considerably.

It was changed before to suit one or two people and even though there was a lot of disappointment (not the word I'm looking for but my mind has gone blank) expressed from regular posters in the Off topic thread, it was still done away with.
PP just expressed an opinion that was a bit apt today with the discussion about Jane. All opinions are valid. I'm sure she didn't intend to come across as bitchy.

Personally, I don't think that this thread is just the old off-topic thread under a different name. This thread has loads of posters with similar post counts in it, and many posters with over 100 posts here alone. The old off-topic thread only had a small number of posters with similar post counts in the thread, ie four posters with over one thousand posts and all other posters not posting nearly as much. That's why it was cliquey. It was essentially a chat thread for a small minority. And I say this as one of the people with a crazy post count in the old chat thread.

I've managed to somehow not put on any weight over easter, despite eating way more chocolate than I should have :p and a few takeaways!

I also got a crazy awesome compliment from someone the other day :)

    Wow.

I genuinely was just making a suggestion based on my opinion. Wasn't trying to force it on anyone.

Quite upset now to be honest. :( I'm also a little afraid to post at all anymore from those types of responses, and that people think I'm coming from an angle.

Tbh Kiera, I'd say a lot of posters don't bother posting in here as often because of how its gotten.

Fair enough if its a chat thread its a chat thread. I just preferred viewing posts which were one or two lines of peoples happiness/sadness/anger etc. But now you might go a page or two without finding that at all. And you do feel like you are butting into someone's conversation. This is just my iopinion though. Not throwing in any element of bitchiness whatever. Just my honest opinion.

I wasn't trying to upset you at all! I'm not arguing with you, you're more than entitled to your opinion and I totally respect it. I was just giving mine to be honest. You shouldn't be afraid to post. Maybe it's time for a tLL feedback thread?

Bitchiness? where? It's an opinion, it doesn't have to agree with those before it, and how anyone can infer tone from typed text, unless it's exceptionally cat-like is beyond me.

To me it's a mix. And I don't find it's the same people chatting all the time. I've no interest in cakes so I won't bother jumping in but I will jump in on other topics (mainly naughty ones :p).

And I like how people come in and say how they're feeling and if it's lousy then people can cheer them up or if it's like links there about her weight people can jump in and congratulate her ( congrats links :) )

How about having a trial run of a Chat thread and maybe keep this one what it was meant to be?

TBH I couldn't care! I love posting in The Ladies Lounge full stop so if we continue to go the way things are going I'll post, and if we change to an off topic thread or have another thread I'm still going to post.

The decision is up to the rest of the Ladies here I'm just going to go with the flow :D:D

I think a feedback thread is a great idea. A lot of topics were addressed with the last feedback thread and I feel a lot of things were changed for the better. (apart from getting rid of the off topic thread :P)

Jane is feeling pretty much the same way and I think it was unnecessary as this is not an advice thread.
Personally I could care less if this thread was a bloggy type thread or a how are you feeling today thread or whatever but I would like it to remain a happy place where posters feel they can post without fear of being upset by advice that they never expressly asked for..:)

EDIT: perhaps a feedback thread would be a good idea as has been suggested.....

I'm on a diet so I'll have my cake from somebody else's plate if that's ok. There's no calories if you do that.
