Oh Yay, I am glad Supersize vs Superskinny is back on. I love that show, I feel happy for the people when they do well at the end :) I will have to catch up on it.

So I finally asked my mam what could be causing my back pain (She's an amazing nurse.. seen and done everything!)

She said it's probably Sciatica :( I've been taking difene, solpadein, valium and ibugel, but that only gives me a little bit of relieve.

Anyone know anyway to get relieve from it? Starting to get unbearable now, and I really can't afford to go to the doctor :(

Baths and lots of heat on the area. My bottom 2 disks are disintegrating and when they play up they hit off nerves I find a bath, tramadol and a hot water bottle works.

Touch is about a little autistic boy and his father. The premise is hard to describe so I'm not going to try tbh.. I'll put up a link later when I'm on my laptop.

Unforgettable is about a detective that can remember everything except the day her sister was killed. It's really good. Bit like CSI/Criminal Minds type thing.

I get sciatica from time to time had it for 8 months solid with my 3rd baby. Nothing got rid of it for me. There is a Facebook page where people share their experiences most end in surgery... Posture can aggravate it day or night. Heat packs are worth a try.

I first got sciatica at 15, I would be walking and my knee would go from under me, I get local pain (in the sciatic area) and I also get pain right down to my toes. When I'm not pregnant it lasts a week, when I'm pregnant I get it for months on end both sides too....

Muffin, there are counsellors and psychologists who work on a 'what the client can afford' basis or at least for far less than €180 an hour. I know because one of my relations is a counsellor and operates in this manner.

I can't remember the exact term for them but it's worth checking if there are any in your area.

Mine was 60 per session (about an hour 20) and was absolutely amazing.

A holistic approach to medicine is a good approach, my GP practices holism. It's not alternative medicine, it's just looking at the whole patient and not just the illness.

Sciatica sounds a bit like what I get tbh. Hot water bottle always works for me. :)

Here ya go! But beware, mom has *very* technical and accurate measurements and instructions... :p

    Meatloaf

Pack of mince, less than 5% fat if possible or round steak mince, about 500g or 1lb or thereabouts, accuracy not that important.

    1 or 2 onions chopped
carrot if you have it, I blitz carrot in mini processor thing or you could grate it
few chopped mushrooms if you have them

Few dashs of soy sauce, worchestershire sauce, tomatoe puree if you have any of them

    salt and pepper

1 egg or couple of egg yolks

3 or 4 fistfuls of porridge oats

Mix the lot together, add about 1/4 tin Campbells tomato soup, keep rest for top.

Put into loaf tin or dish of some sort, press down well, pour soup over top, make sure there is plenty of space at top as the soup will splatter around oven if very near top.

Bake for about hour to hour and half depending on size and depth at 200ish.

Got a nasty nasty personal text from an ex today, quite out of the blue, after he had tricked me into thinking it was someone I had given my number to. Zoned in on my own insecurities and things he knew I was paranoid about, so I'm feeling completely wiped tonight. Why can't people be mature about break ups? I'm just thanking my lucky stars that I got out of there after 5 months. 5 months of a waste, and 5 months that I'll never get back now, but anyway. **** men.

    God what a sh*t :eek::mad:

You might not get the 5 months back, but I'd say you've learned a lot from it so it's not completely wasted. *hugs*

I presume its lower back pain? Try getting someone to roll a tennis ball at the side of your spine, see if there are any trigger points there. I'd second heat as well - but the best thing would probably be to get to a doctor as soon as you can. Be careful in the way that you are sitting or lying, and the way that you are walking, can make a difference.

My back pain is being caused by my hip flexors pulling on my lumbar spine - just back from the physio, and I'm in bits, legs feel so heavy and its like someone is putting a pin in the front of my hip. I was getting relief from rolling a small football up and down the side of my back, but it wasn't very long as it was the hip flexors causing the problem

Demented. Seriously. I'm lucky I got out when I did. Completely unnecessary. There was no need for it. I broke up with up as easily as I could. It wasn't working for us. I really really detest that some people can be so nasty about things.

Lower back pain going down through my hip and all the way down my leg. It gets particularly bad when I go to stand up, sit down or when I move in bed. I've been putting up with it for about a week now because, to be honest, I can't afford to go to the doctor, but I'm thinking now I have to.

God that sounds horrible, you poor thing :(

I think I've always had lucky escapes when it comes to exes and breakups, my last one I'd have no hostility towards and vice versa, have met her on a few nights out randomly and just had brief chats, the one before I literally havent spoken to her since the night we broke up, and the one before that I'd still chat to occasionally, she's getting married soon, not a bit of hostility either. I think I'm due a crazy one lol

I haven't had that many exes as such, but my long term bf, I'd send him the odd text to see how he's getting on. No hostility at all. But, this recent one. Jesus. Talk about psycho. To be honest, I've never been with anyone THAT crazy before but 'this isn't the last you've heard of me' isn't a nice thing to be told by him either :( Wouldn't mind but woke up today smothered with a cold but this has REALLY just put a dampener on my day. And I'm on holidays from work. Grr.

Ben and Jerry's Dough-ble Whammy should never have been invented. As if Cookie Dough wasn't amazing enough. Now I can have cookie dough bits and some sort of magical chocolate goo. And it's half price in SuperValu.
