, I have 6719 Total Military Strength, 50% readiness rating (no MP played) and 3359 Effective Military Strength (full green bar). Do I need 4K+ effective military strength for the best ending?

I think it depends on how high your Paragon/Renegade bar is. There's a choice at the end which can apparently effect it. I'd say play a few games of multiplayer if you can, and you'll get well over 4k in no time.

It's actually a lot of fun.

Was in a game with three other randoms. I went down right beside a guy and he didn't pick me up. Thought it was strange, sent him a message instructing him on how to pick people up (sort of sarcastically). Then his buddy goes down in a room with a brute and other reapers, who I weaken, and then go for the revive. I go down half way through, and the guy from earlier picks up his friend and they both walk off.

I messaged the guy I tried to pick up, and his reason for not picking me up was 'kill-stealing'. What sort of bull are people sprouting these days? I was pull-reave combo-ing enemies for the biotic explosion, sometimes pulling the enemy out of the path of a Krogan who was about to charge him. I can hardly stop my pull half way through it's flight. >.<

Anyone else experience anything like this? Or care about 'kill-stealing' for that matter?

That sucks GJ, sound like yanks. I just had my 1st MP game and only made it wave 10 on bronze. So much lag in the level, one of our guys was constantly stuck in the corner of the map.

Yeah, it's the only time it's happened luckily. At least you managed to get to the 10th wave on your first try, it took me quite a while to finish an entire map. Honestly, once you start levelling up, unlocking new characters and weapons and finding your best class, you'll be flying, and that's when the MP starts getting fun! Turian Sentinel is a good starter if you have it, Overload and Warp with the same character is devastating for enemies with shields, barriers and armor. Don't overload yourself with weapons though, the recharge times can be dreadful at anything past 100%.

    kill stealing lol?

Does the consoles versions give more credits for kills?

Played a few golds earlier with another irish guy, some russian and a yank. Proper decent team, simple tactics, properly organised and voice comms used just enough to make it sound awesome. Came out at the end with 250k credits and successfully extracted all 4 in 4 games. Win!
btw, i just got my victory pack.. it was a crappy phaeston VI and some consumables :/

No, it's still the collective score that I presume is used on the PC. I don't see how it's possible to be competitive on a co-operative game mode, that's what got me the most.

And the prospect of opening four Spectre packs in a row.... mouthwatering. XD

As it is, you will not have access to the 'best' ending. Though I doubt you would notice. You need to play some multiplayer first.

F*ck sake!!!! Bioware said I wouldn't have to touch MP to get the best ending. I did every single thing possible in SP and have everyone on my side. I have no problem with the MP, it's actually a lot of fun but I was hoping to clear the game last night. Doesn't help that I pick the sh*tty engineer as I want to get the Overload specialist trophy.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,438 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Apparently, to get the full ending without multiplayer, you need to have imported a save from ME1/2, as well as make the right choices pretty much everywhere. I think i had over 8000 by the time i was finished, but also had 100% readiness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I tried the multiplayer for the first time over the weekend and was impressed. Although I think the community (on the PS3) sucks a bit as I got kicked out of a few games because I was starting from scratch. How are you supposed to level up if you get kicked out of the lobby? When I did play though it was fun. Need to do some levelling before I can offer more than a few assists.

I don't like the fact that your Galactic Readiness meter drops when you don't play multiplayer. I had it up to 58% but it has dropped back to 56%. I'm using the ME3 Datapad app on the iPad and it is pretty good. The Galactic War mini-game is well done and apparently you can raise your Galactic Readiness meter with it. I've gained a few % points in the app but haven't noticed it reflected in my ME3 game yet.

I like the way ME3 is dealing with DLC characters from ME2. I just met
    Zaeed
last night. I had forgotten about him as he wasn't that well integrated into ME2 apart from his loyalty mission. At least
the DLC Prothean in ME3 is much better integrated into the ship and missions
    .

I will say that I am annoyed about an early mission on the Citadel that introduced
    Kasumi
back to the game. I was unable to continue that mission thanks to a bug. So now I don't know how that would have played out.

It is somewhat immersion breaking having to keeping an eye on the effective millitary strength, especially when you know you ought to be over a certain number but don't really know exactly why.

I'm pretty well in the same position as yourself, with my goodie two shoes Sheppard (from the original game), despite scanning every planet, doing every side mission I could find and with all fleets on board I still ended up at the 'point of no return' with only about 3250 effective Military strength (6500 total or thereabouts).

So I grudgingly had to stopped playing, and logged on to multiplayer to do the bare amount nescessary to get over 4k. Sure I may have logged off hours later with about 6000+, and had an absolute blast, but thats is beside the point as I shouldn't have to suddenly drop my single player campaign at such a critical juncture.

    Lads, where the f*ck is
    Thane?

I've been looking for him since I started the game after getting the message from him on the private terminal saying he's at the hospital.. but he's nowhere to be found :(

Is this the 'bug' that keeps sending you back to the terminal that you already used? If so, just look at your map for the different areas. There should be a terminal listed on the map for the Docks i think. Took me a few minutes to figure this out as well.

He should be standing by the window on the left as you walk into the hospital.

I think the multiplayer is savage tbh. If they keep releasing community events, I'll be playing it for months to come despite finishing single player.

Get a few friends together, fire on bronze and have a blast.

When I first heard of mp in ME3 I nearly started a riot. Now I cannot imagine a Mass Effect game without it!

Ya, I got that bug as well. For me, not even the 1st terminal would become active even though it was on my map. Only thing you can do is reload the game and accept the mission again and then do it straight away without leaving the citadel.

For me, he was in the Hospital, when you get off the elevator, he is on a couch/chair just to the left by the window.

I know somebody asked the question already (and I apologise) but I am also skimming this thread to avoid spoilers:

I know the current situation is that 'From Ashes' is deemed disappointing and I was wondering whether or not to bother with the N7 edition (they don't seem to be shifting for the PS3).

Did anyone feel it was worth the 77e currently being charged by Gamestop?

Does anyone know if having that edition entitles you to any future DLC?

Going to head into town after work and pick up the game in one of Gamestop or HMV.

just got my commendation pack, got N7 eagle.

Got my Commendation and Victory packs. Got a Phalanx II in my Victory pack and an N7 Valiant sniper in my Commendation pack. Disappointed with the Phalanx, but I'll give the sniper a shot, supposed to be the middle ground between the Viper and Mantis.

It was the second terminal in the Docks that was bugged. It showed on the map and I was standing right beside it but unable to interact with it.

I don't think the mission itself is worth the 10 euro tbh but the character is. He provides alot of insight.

The steelbook case is very nice and the soundtrack is superb. I love the Normandy avatar item. The comic, lithograph and patch are a bit meh.

If you are a massive fan, for 77 euro, I think it's worth it, but just about.

I got the N7 CE but I don't feel it was worth the price. The box is nice (and big) but the contents are poor. The picture of the Normandy they advertise was a disappointment. From the pictures I thought it was framed but it is simple post card. The art book is nice though and the packaging is well done. I can't see myself using the N7 patch.

I know this is silly but having Shepard walk around in his N7 Hoodie is pretty cool. The from Ashes DLC is worth buying I think. The actual mission is above average and has some tough combat. The real bonus is the new squad mate. He is very well written, is integrated well into the story unlike past DLC characters and by brining him on missions you get some good reactions from other characters. I bring him on nearly every mission. Plus the DLC mission has some really good
cut-scenes that fill in some backstory
    .

Oh and I like the steelcase but it doesn't fit well with my other PS3 titles on the shelf.

    Thanks for the replies lads.

Just to be clear, having the N7 doesn't mean you get free DLC in the future? Just 'From Ashes' right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,369 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Great! PSN maintenance from 3pm today to 1am tomorrow morning. You 'may' be able to still play MP but you 'may' get errors when trying to sign in. All I want to do is finish the game but I want to get my EMS up to scratch first. I was really enjoying the game up until this, Bioware royally f*cked this up.

As far as we know, it's only From Ashes. No further free dlc.

I better not get a pistol in my pack. That sniper rifle or assault rifle would be far more useful.

would have preferred the assault rifle but as i use the pistol with both my adept and solider it's fine.

Latest multiplayer discovery: Asari Adept is a murder machine with a sniper rifle.

Stasis --> Headshot. Stasis --> Headshot. Stasis --> Headshot. Stasis --> Headshot.
