I'd avoid McClean, hasn't been great in recent weeks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭DazzlerIE

Care to share who you dropped for him? I could do with a few tips from you considering where you are in the overall standings. :o

Sure I didn't even qualify for the Boards Cup, so I wouldn't be following my advice too closely :D

    I got rid of Silva

Has Sessegnon dropped as much in value as hes gonna drop do ye reckon ? Tempted to get him in early before he comes back from suspension and before his price starts going back up again

I think he'll drop one more 0.1. Best off just keeping an eye on FISO though

Still very undecided on bringing in a Utd midfielder! Think I could very well make no changes this GW, leaving me with 2 for next. GW 30 looks like a big earner.

Ya he mentioned that a few posts back.

    Yea, for Silva

United wingers are going to score more than Silva during the run-in IMO, I just hope I've picked the right one

My transfer will probably be Young this week.

Don't know what to do about Suarez though. QPR have let in 48 goals this season. Who knows how Liverpool will play after the Everton and FA cup game.

Should I take a point hit to get rid of him this week for someone like Yakubu, or hold out till next week?

Morrison. Arsenal overkill will definitely get you some points, but can't imagine all 3 doing the business for you.

Guy who is top of the world has Ferguson, if I remember correctly

I see no problem in carrying one rubbish guy who doesn't play if you absolutely need the cash

    Ruddy has to go though

Actually, just saw the guy has money spare, get shot of Ferguson

Just took a 4 point hit to get Rooney in only to see on FFS that he might be a doubt for the Wolves game:o

just got him too. not sure what to do about captain

Went for the brave/stupid option of saving my wildcard until this week. I'm 12 points behind the leader in my main league and they went pretty heavy on Liverpool players for the double week so will take a few weeks to adjust properly. Need to gain and quick.

    Opinions on my team below.

i have seven of the same, but just decided to take captain away from rooney. too risky . he couldonly play last ten mins

I'm fairly sure i'm the only one with Rooney for another week at least. He's on form and tbh I reckon he'll play. He got a kick against Bilbao but he then proceed to belt in a worldie. Hmmmmmm, in it to win it, gonna stick with him.

I would say you have too much invested in your defence.

It's a good team, but I think you can do better than Chamerlain, who is likely to be hit-or-miss.

With Enrique, Evans, BAE, and Lescott, you're liable to have lots of wasted points on the bench most weeks, or will have to avoid playing the most profitable formation (3-4-3).

I like seeing Balotelli in there. Could be an excellent choice. It's a gamble, but a good one.

Anybody thinking of taking a gamble on Welbeck? Should start most games during the run in and is only 6.5.

He hasn't been prolific at all recently in terms of FF although he has played relatively well. But the way I see it, United have had really difficult games the last 2 or so months so it has been naturally more difficult for him to score. And the two 'easy' games United have played during that period have been Stoke (h) when Welbeck was rested and West Brom (h) when he was deployed on the wing because both Nani and Valencia were out.

He is the striker that leads the line at United (although he'll be a rotation risk with Chicharito around) and I fancy United to make bags of chances for him in their next 6 games: Wolves (A), Fulham (H), Blackburn (A), QPR (H), Wigan (A) and Aston Villa (H).

I would expect maybe 3-4 goals and an assist or two from him in those games, which would be pretty good value for 6.5m.

Any recommendations of who to downgrade and upgrade Chamberlain for? Spurs/Liverpool and United have quite a few easy games coming up and the other two of my defenders cost 4.0.

A lot of people will also have Rooney. I think it's a bit of a gamble having two forwards from the same team. For United I think Evans, Rooney + one of the wingers is the optimal combination.

If you don't have Rooney then Welbeck might be worth the gamble.

To be honest with you, I wouldn't see it as a gamble to have both Welbeck and Rooney over the next few weeks. I expect United to score 2/3/4/5 goals in each of their next 6 games, given the ease of the fixtures. If Rooney doesn't score, there's a very good chance Welbeck will have and vice versa. It wouldn't surprise me to see both of them score high FF points over the next six weeks, but you can be sure that at least one of them will.

I think the United midfielders (Young, Nani and Valencia) are all too expensive at the moment to be picking as it's almost impossible to know which ones will start week in, week out. Okay, Young is pretty much guaranteed to start on Sunday, but that could quite easily change next week.

Swansea offer decent CS records for a very low price. Caulker seems to be the current trend. Fulham too, but you have them covered fine with Kelly. I have Taylor and Senderos myself, but if I had a WC I'd swap them to save some cash. Also; If Shotton is sure of a game, then he's a great bargain at Stoke... but I don't know enough about to Stoke squad to have an understanding of why he only sometimes plays.

As for who to drop, it's hard to say because I can't see how much you paid for each defender. If you got either BAE or Enrique for 5m at the start of the season, I'd struggle to drop either. City don't have a good run-in at all, so I personally don't fancy Lescott.

I probably shouldn't have singled out Chamberlain in my first post. It's both him and McClean I'm not sure about. With those two and Sig in the same team, I think you have one too many cheap midfielders, and lack at least one top quality midfielder. I'm talking about a Dempsey, or a Young, or even Walcott, if you're looking towards Arsenal.

This could just be me, but I have a very strict rule when picking my team. I either have 4 top midfielders and 2 top strikers, with bargain MF and striker to interchange according to fixtures... or 3 top midfielders and 3 top strikers, with 2 bargain MFs to interchange. Either way, 6 out of 8 are top quality. To afford that, I'm all about the bargain defenders.

So I'm basically accepting your front 3 as top strikers, which means you need one more top MF to partner Bale and Silva.

Saying all that... it's important you have your own team with players you're comfortable with. Don't listen to this mad man. :pac:
