    Suarez to Rooney. Only brought in Suarez for the double gameweek.

    N'Zonzie to Morisson (WBA).
    Happy with my team for the next few weeks so just rotating a cheap mid until gw 33 - basically whoever is playing Wolves, Bolton or Wigan.

    Spurs seem to have lost them selfs last few games meaning Bale has been out of things for a good while now.

    Thinking maybe its time to move on from him and make most of the money hes worth on somewhere else in the team.

    Also Valencia better be back next week because hes just sitting on so many peoples benchs including mine losing value.

    Id be careful with Pog after watching Fulham today they cant score away from home for there lifes. Unless there at home they really under perform.

    Lads I'm looking to squeeze Dempsey into my team for the home game next week. He has a great home record. I'm stuck for decisions on what to do? a straight switch would be:

    Bale-> Dempsey

    But I think Bale still has a few goals in him. So my other options are getting rid of Sessegnon and some other player (taking a 4 point hit) to get Dempsey in and some other very cheap player.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Heres my current team:

    Unless you downgrade one of your strikers it would probably require 3 transfers or else you'd leave massive holes in your team.

    Id downgrade Ba to a 5m striker and upgrade Sess or Giggs to Dempsey if you really feel he is due another good home week.

    I still cant believe you have giggs in your team though, im staring in disbelief..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

    If you do Sess --> Dempsey you need to free up £2.3. So you could
    • downgrade Ba to either Graham or Holt (I don't know their list of fixtures but they have been fairly consistent over the season for their price tag). I know Ba has good fixtures coming but he seems to start suffering from the post International competition hangover... And Newcastle are struggling at the moment. I hope I'm wrong (and he could potentially prove it tomorrow) as I still have him but it's more a forced choice due to other priorities than anything else at the moment.
    • or downgrade Giggs to a 4.5 midfielder... Not so much tasty choice at that price though. Then I guess it all depends what will be your tactic. If you plan to play your 7 other striking force players and leave the 5th midfileder as a bench warmer, go for a cheap lad that has regular gametime (any of the top 10 top score of midfielder ≤ £ 4.5).

    Yep Im almost embarrassed to say that Giggs was last weeks transfer! Had Valencia and was looking for another United player for 7m or less and Giggs seemed to be on good form. Very poor decision on my part but sure maybe he might get an assist tomorrow!:confused:

    Ah. Well I'll keep an eye out. Balotelli finally being treated like a footballer could be incredible FF news.

    No transfer this week 'cause my team is in very decent shape.

    Will be doing Ireland - Sessegnon and Ba - Balotelli the following week I think.

    Yep, I've been keeping an eye on him, he's a steal at 8m. All depends on Mancini playing him though.

    11 goals in the small number of games he's played. Scores a goal roughly every 82 mins - this is a better return than RVP (95 mins) and Rooney (110 mins).

    Could be worth clawing back on midfield player to have him as a 3rd striker,those goal stats are impressive...

    I need a united defender. Is Evans gonna stay put or what? I can afford Jones or even Evra but I'd definitely go for Evans if I was sure he'd keep his starting place.

    Smalling is apparently out indefinately so Evans will stay CB for me,he is in top form last while..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

    I had my own concerns about Evans, which is why I brought in Smalling during my WC in Jan. Complete F-Up. Smalling hasn't stopped picking up different niggles/head injuries.

    I wouldn't be too worried about Evans in the near future.

    Silva and Ade out Sinclair and Rooney in, 4 point hit. Need to get Rooney in now before his price rises even more!!

    Advice please....

    Get Sigurdson instead of Sinclair

    Got Aguero out for Rooney, might get Balotelli in if needs be

    Straight forward for me this week. Senderos to Evans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,194 ✭✭✭FatRat

    So..... given United's fixtures it looks like their defence is gonna be keeping a lot of clean sheets from now til the end of the season. Therefore I shall be doubling up on united's defence. The question is who? Jones and Evans? Or is Smalling and Evans a better choice? I can see Smalling and Evans being the CB's from now on with Ferdinand being pushed out.

    I know I've pretty much just asked this question above but... thoughts?

    Maybe Evans and one of the United keepers?

    The keepers get rotated though so I see no point investing De Gea only for Lindegaard to play a few of the remaining games instead of him. Also I have Reina so I'm covered for a good keeper. My idea is that the defence is where all the points will come from towards the end of the season. I have Reina and Richards already now is just the case of getting a United defender but I think getting two is a better option. The one downside is I can't get any United midfielder because I have Rooney and you're only aloud 3 players from one team. I'm thinking:

    Caulker -> J Evans
    Assou-Ekotto -> Evra

    I don't see Spurs keeping their defensive form and Evra is going forward a hell of a lot lately. I see plenty of goals from United from here on in so I see plenty of assists from Evra. Pricey but will probably be worth it in the long run... I mean look at their fixtures!!!! :eek:

    I always say I'm gonna do all of this and never actually end up doing it though probably because I don't have the balls! But I think I'll go for it this time. I'll be piling all my money into my defense but, lets face it, the pricey midfielders are doing nothing these days, might aswell spend on the defence.

    IMO de Gea is the number 1 keeper for the rest of the season, unless he gets an injury. He has been immense the last few games. MOTM on many occasions. There is no way that Fergie will drop him for Lindegaard at this stage, and if he does then he should get his head checked. Oh yea Lindegaard is injured at the moment and isn't expected back for 2 weeks I think.

    I wouldn't really bother with anyone else in the United defence bar Evans if I were you. Maybe it might be worth a shot replacing Reina with DDG if you want to take a gamble. The L'pool defence haven't been that great the last few games. Scratch that they have been shocking. 2 clean sheets in 11 games. Didn't realise it was that bad. I might off load Enrique now.

    Ashley Young could be a good buy also in midfield. 3 assists and 2 goals in 3 games. His overall play is getting better with each passing game as well. He linked up very well around the box with Rooney and Welbeck today. If he can stay free from injury then he may well be able to cement his place on the left, especially with Nani and Valencia both injured at the moment.

    Some transfers I'm considering over the coming GWs. A few bold ones in there but necessary for me to claw back the substantial lead my mate has in our cash league. Hopefully I'll resist any hits and phase them in accordingly.

    Simpson -> Evans
    McAuley-> Cahill
    Silva -> Lampard
    Sessegnon -> Young
    Suarez -> Yakubu
    Ba -> Progrebnyak

    Barring injury, DDG wil play all league games for the rest of the season. I'm very confident of that.

    Transfer this week is gnawing at me because it's almost a sin to transfer him out but my planned transfer is

    Silva > Young

    Silva has Chelsea (H), Stoke (A), Sunderland (H), Arsenal (A), WBA (H) and Norwich (a).

    Young has Wolves (A), Fulham (H), Blackburn (A), QPR (H), Wigan (A) and Villa (H)

    The logical part of my brain says get Young in at all costs!!! (Have Rooney and Evans too).

    Whoa whoa whoa, slow down! :pac: Liverpool haven't kept a clean sheet in 3 games because they've had 3 tough fixtures. Where is this 11 games with only two clean sheets coming from? :pac: They've been consistent enough CS keepers and they've just played all the toughest teams so they have an easy end of season run ahead of them.

    I'd still worry about De Gea though tbh. I'll stick with Reina, I always have Vorm to back him up anyway! The question I'm facing now is whether Young would be a better transfer in than a second United defender. Young's place on the team isn't certain and I'd be transferring silva out for him so it's a tough decision.

    It's actually 3 CSs in 10. Sorry for the miscount.

    I think Reina is a bit expensive as a keeper. I have Begovic in there and he's saving me 2 million that I can invest somewhere else.

    I think Young would definitely be a better choice. If he doesn't work out (or loses his place) then Valencia is the man to get in instead of him. He has dropped in price to 7.6 now. He's not far off another drop in price as well.

    didn't dwell on it and just done it last night even though it felt so wrong to do it...Silva and Ade --> Sinclair and Rooney. Rooney is just a must have in my opinion with the fixtures coming up so had to get rid of the 2 of them to get him in..Silva's gone quite anyway and Ade is hot and cold

    For those looking to ship Silva; Walcott is looking to be in good form lately. He's not his usual headless chicken self. Getting good balls into the box, as well as running into lots of free space.

    Walcott played very well tonight, anyone who has him must be raging he didnt get more points tonight, Rosicky let him down for an assist!

    I think it was more like Walcott let Rosicky down with the pass. It was a terrible pass.

    He did very well to turn back and then fired the ball at Rosicky, who could only poke a leg at it. If he was a bit more composed then it was a certain goal.

    He got an assist for the second goal though. So 5 pts isnt a bad return. had the little fecker for awhile around time he got lots of assists against blackburn and despite his impressive return he made me pull my hair out. he could be the best ff player around but never actually produces despite all the potential.

    Yep, bought in Walcott and I'm hoping a few more followed my recommendation :)

    Didn't see the game last night but according to BBC he got two assists, which one was given to Ramsey and is there any chance of Walcott be awarded it?

    Not a hope I'd say, The assist for Vermalaen's goal was giving to Van Persie first then taking off him and giving to Ramsey. Walcott gave the assist for Van Persie's goal.

    I've got rid of Aguero and Ba for Rooney and Pogrebynak, taking a 4 point hit in the bargain.

    Sooooo I still have my wildcard and I'm thinking of going for whats below. I've had the worst two weeks of the season for my last two and have dropped to 2nd in my money league. Need to pull it back. Opinions welcome.

    Also Killgallon is there simply because he's cheap and it free's up additional funds. I still have 1.4 mill left.

    I cant see your team(work restrictions) but id upgrade kilgallon to Caulker or shotton or some other 4m def as kilgallon oesnt play and for the extra .1 you need to have at least someone who will play. Esp since you have 1.4m in the bank

    Here's what I have at the moment. I'm very skeptical about Walcot he's haunted me before:

    De Dea
    Evan Assou-Ekotto Caulker
    Silva Dempsey Sigurdssun Walcott
    v.Persie Rooney Pog
    Subs: Mignolet, Raylor, McClean, Kilgallon

    Like I said never mind Kilgallon I have him because he's cheap and frees up funds. I'm tempted to fit Mata/Young in somewhere but Young is likely for rotation soon. This is also the 1st time I've dropped Aguero so I'll cry if he scores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,635 ✭✭✭miller82

    Thinking of ditching Mata or Silva for Young. Cant decide which one ? Both have done relatively crap the last few weeks.

    Any thoughts ?

    I'd advise people to steer clear of Young. That's my opinion. For me he's just a player that has a run of 2 or maybe 3 good games and then drifts into obscurity

    I agree. Cracking player but the last two games were the first time all season he's played the full 90 minutes twice in a row! If he was a guaranteed starter I'd have him in the team, this might be a bit more likely with Valencia injured but Fergie just doesn't seem to know his favourite MF.

    Gonna take a punt on Valencia myself. Probly in a couple of weeks. I just think with his form on the right Fergie'd be stupid not to play him. And I don't think Fergie is stupid
