Hah, no way! It was called 'Riders' (being a horse shop and all). The guy who owned it also drove around in his car (kind of like an ice cream van for videogames!). If you rented a game on the Friday you didn't have to give it back till monday. Was great.

They had a system where games had different coloured paper dots stuck on the boxes. You could only trade your game for another game with the same colour. Plus £5 of course.

Not a bad system, I guess they sorted the coloured dot system by release date.
I remember that van too! We had a similar guy in a car for a while down here. Pretty much an identical system

Anyone else having trouble with paying on eBay last two days? I get getting an error with payment is processing. Funds are there in my card so I dunno.

If like me you pay using your credit card via paypal without actually having a paypal account they will cut you off after a certain amount(pretty high I think).
It's to suck you into opening an account and I just use another card or request a new number from my cred card company.

I'll never open a paypal account again, they completely destroyed my ebay and paypal account a little over a year ago and ruined my reputation as a seller(over 2000 positive feedback until the dark days). They froze my account multiple times to check there was no funny business as I had large sums moving through it and eventually froze it one last time when I had built up a large amount from sales. 11 months later they unfroze it and released the funds, which were very small after all the complaint's for refunds from buyers were automatically paid from it.

I've since opened a new ebay account(just a buyer account this time) and that wasn't easy either as they tracked my down as a previous account and closed it.

Sounds like something similiar is happening. As I'm going to start getting bad feedback in the next couple of days if it's not rectified. I've had about 3-4 grand go through it in the last two years, I don't think that's a massively large amount.

I should throw a couple of euro on that for sh*ts and giggles. I pass the bookies on the way to work!

Now, how do I bet? Do I go in and say €2 on baldadash in the 2.05?

Last time I saw one of those weird naming coincidences was a horse named Ballerbrig, or something like that, a few months ago.

How did it get on in the race? Well let's just say that my home town of Balbriggan must have all backed it and it was one of the craziest nights out ever :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,636 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

Anything that is 16/1 gets a bet from me when I'm in one.
Girlfriend works in one so I dont have to write out the bets luckily.

    Otherwise

    Pointless feat of endurance alert!

Going to pale next to my endeavours to defeat Dark Souls using a guitar controller though.

(an aside: any ever think that in Goldeneye just looks like two pencils glued together?)

Now this takes beating, asked an ebay seller, who has just opened up shop, how much for shipping a My Pet Monster

"I ran it by the shipping calculator and it seems like it's way too expensive. Might be over 400 dollars. I'll let you know if I find out I can ship it for something reasonable."

    Just wow

    Just finished Journey.

    It's good.

ICO good (even if such a comparison fails to emphasise the uniqueness of Journey).

Cannot imagine this being anything other than game of the year. Remarkable stuff.
