think you are on to something there "hic" 3/1 aint bad , and les frogs were very poor in their last two matches.

The great problem with les frogs is that they can go from to zero to hero without any warning, they were awful and inspirational in the WC in the space of 2 weeks.

To be honest given our record in Paris 3/1 is too low.

yep you really never know so betting wise they are lethal, as I found out last sunday

Hi all, during the podcast this week

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=77372715#post77372715

we speculated on Montpelier staying within the 'cap. (montpelier + 10 10/11 sportingbet)

The show was recorded on Tuesday so obviously no real team news. Since then the teams have been announced & imho Monty will not roll over so no reason to change that opnion.

As we mentioned in the podcast if you are interested in other bets/views on this weekends games to add to what is available here I, as well as DeDoc & phatphiggins amongst others post on ThinkBetProfit.

    GL to all.

Match not till Saturday but I like the look of:
    Brive +7 vs Biarritz

    Biarritz at home:
    Sat 03/09/11 T1 Biarritz 9 - 9 SU Ageno
    Fri 09/09/11 T1 Biarritz 18 - 23 Castres Olympique
    Fri 23/09/11 T1 Biarritz 24 - 29 Perpignan
    Sat 22/10/11 T1 Biarritz 15 - 15 Lyon OU
    Tue 29/11/11 T1 Biarritz 21 - 19 Bayonne
    Sun 04/12/11 T1 Biarritz 23 - 30 Montpellier
    Sat 31/12/11 T1 Biarritz 25 - 6 Toulon
    Fri 10/02/12 T1 Biarritz 15 - 20 Stade Toulousain

7/8 games lost the -7 Handicap

    Brive away in T14:
    Sat 03/09/11 T1 Montpellier 12 - 28 Brive
    Fri 09/09/11 T1 Perpignan 12 - 9 Brive
    Fri 23/09/11 T1 Castres Olympique 30 - 24 Brive

    Fri 02/12/11 T1 Bordeaux-Bègles 16 - 12 Brive
    Sat 31/12/11 T1 SU Agen 15 - 9 Brive
    Fri 24/02/12 T1 Lyon OU 9 - 22 Brive

6/8 games won the +7 Handicap
    • Biarritz in neutral venue (due to angrydadgate)
    • Biarritz missing Harinordoquay and Yachvilli

Well Biaritz v Brive is this week.. and handicap is Brive +9 :eek::confused:
    I honestly cannot understand this
yes Biarritz had a good win of 38-13 v Bordeux but Brive bet Stade de Francais and as the above stats show are no pushovers on the road

Also, Hurricanes at a scratch look decent to beat Western Force @ 10/11

Scotland are 7/2 with Ladbrokes for the match on Saturday. Loathe to bet against Ireland, but we had a tough game Sunday in Paris, we are missing the tallismanic POC, have a number of walking wounded and Scotland have had an extra week of rest. I know they have lost 3, but they have been playing some good rugby and were unlucky against Eng & France. Ire 1/4 vs Sco 7/2 looks crazy imo, so have taken some of the 7/2 on offer!!!

7/2 - good odds for a gamble but I can't see Ireland rolling over for this one so I'll be going for try scorers and other options.

    1/4 is generous imo

Well you can get 3/10 with Sportingbet. But honestly I think 7/2 is standout about Scotland, given most places have them 11/4.

Clermont +1 away to Agen (10/11) is our bet of the week on the latest podcast.

They have made 10 changes from the side that hammered Toulouse A but it's still a strong outfit, some good players on the bench too like Pierre, Lapandry and Skrela. Buttin, normally a fullback, is a bright prospect. Very experienced backrow too.

He's more than that thomond2006. He has been Clermonts outstanding player since the start of the season. Mainly down to the WC of course but since then has held his spot in the XV. Anthony Floch, coming back after injury will have to work hard to keep Buttin on the wing.
Buttin is solid under high ball, great speed & change of direction. Very dangerous.
In France the majority hoped he would have replaced Medard but thankfully (from an Irish point of view) PSA went with Poitrenaud :D
In any case its a great problem to have for Cotter.

    Kearney MOTM @10/1.

With Scotlands line out we will be looking for quick throws and to keep the ball in hand as much as we can. If he plays to the standard he has so far then he may be our stand out player again. Whether he gets the recognition or not though is another thing.

    Edit: 12/1 on Boylesports

Wales vs Italy still 50/1 on a Draw at Halftime - might just have a small one but expect Wales to win. :D

Thats the kind of intuition that would be very very welcome on a specialised betting site. I could be wrong but as far as I know it wasn't posted elsewhere. Have you ever considered giving it a trial "paper betting" run?

    PM if you're interested ;)

as phat phiggins says elsewhere "not losing is as good as winning" so by that reckoning you're ahead :D

I had Ireland -8 so I broke even in the end. If I had an ounce of cop on I'd have stuck everything on the bet most likely to come off and I'd have made myself a few quid this weekend.

Pity I didnt spot Ducky's (may I call you Ducky ? :pac:) post before the match, I had a couple euro I wasnt quite sure what to do with and I'd definitely have stuck it on that.

Still I'm happy enough not to have lost I suppose.

iv a friend who had decent sized lump on Ferris down for MOTM today- he is understandably disgusted that he didn't get it despite him blatantly being the best player on the pitch today (and for us all 6N)

good call on Ryan though ducky;)
