Nah, just another stadium. Leinster played in Lansdowne which is literally about 800m away from the RDS.

    Bastards :p

I didn't think so... doesn't it have to be a certain number of miles away from your home stadium?

No. The original rule had nothing to do with distance anyway, it simply couldn't be your designated home ground. Leinster got around this by their designated home ground being Donnybrook for some time (which probably isn't even a mile from Lansdowne!).

That ruling is gone however. There is no requirement for a neutral stadium (AFAIK), only that it be over 20,000. However, the stadium is selected by the ERC now, not the home union so it's the same rule in different form really.

Ah well there goes that dream.

Munster fans: If you beat Ulster and then don't deliver on my biggest dream of a Munster-Leinster H Cup Final in Twickenham (WHEN I JUST HAPPEN TO BE LIVING IN WEST LONDON) I will become the Leisnter version of thehighground (also known as Jackass!). So help me god.

Don't worry, we'll take care of our side, just make sure ye can Beat Clermont in France ok ;)

Then we'll just put O'Gara and Sexton on the field alone and they can have an outhalf-off to end the bickering once and for all.

    Dream/Nightmare!

I'd be more concerned about Leinster failing to follow through to be honest!

    Could go either way really.

The only thing that is certain is that Gordon D'Arcy will start the mother of all scraps.

Holy crap. Just saw Cotter's break for YM against Belvo. That man can move. He's as quick as a flanker and a fantastic offload. Given the issues Munster have had in the position, I'm surprised he's never been looked at for the senior side even for a 15 minute appearance.

Was that on Against the Head?

I couldn't make it to Dublin, but I heard about the break. I'll catch it on the RTE Player if so.

It was. Fantastic pace for about 40m break on the wing and then flung an over the head, one handed offload to the support. Cover was catching him but very slowly.

Cheers. He carried a bit against Garryowen a couple of weeks back, so I think that aspect of his game is developing a bit.

I really hope Munster give him a run out. I don't see what they have to lose.

The Google translation of the USAP forum has led me to believe Mermoz hasn't signed on for next season yet.

Mermoz is going to Montpellier apparently, Mafi would be his direct replacement at USAP.

This is really bad for French rugby. On the therugbyforum confirmed transfers website they have for USAP

In: Sona Taumalolo (PR, Chiefs), Jérémy Castex (PR, Wasps), Luke Charteris (LK, Dragons), Alasdair Strokosch (FL, Gloucester), Luke Narraway (N8, Gloucester)

Then add in this rumour of Mafi and the possibility of TOL too. One French guy, I presume Castex is French, 5 all right but could also be termed journeymen, and TOL.

If Leinster signed these guys I'd be extremely disappointed.

    MRSC have tweeted
Full MRSC Membership reduced by €15 for nxt season. Assoc stays the same

Membership usually falls due around now and they have reduced the price by €15, down from €80 to €65.

I can't remember the cost of Associate membership but I think it's aropund the €20.

It's up on RTE player now, http://www.rte.ie/player/#!v=1139045

Coverage starts around 26 mins in. Great stuff from Cotter alright.

Associate membership is €30 for the full season. Drops to €20 towards the end of the year AFAIK.

Will you get out of it, you'd be delighted if they signed Charteris. The rest will just be squad players. Its bad for french rugby because 4/5 seasons ago they had a good smattering of players in the French team. Next season it'll only be Mas.

I meant if we signed all these guys not any of them.

Certainly makes more sense for Stringer to be with Connacht than Newcastle anyway, imo.

According to Sinead Kissane on twitter Paulie doesn't need surgery. Is seeing a specialist this afternoon.

Hopefully that's a positive sign for the QF!!

Hope so, we'll really need him for the quarter final, Ferris is in the form of his life.

Hopefully, it'd be an absolutely massive blow to be without him.

Is Wallace expected to be back by then?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,969 ✭✭✭buck65

I think Wallace will be back next game or so. O Connell is going to be out for a month anyways so more likely form the bench if at all.
Lots of rugby to be played yet, a few Ulster lads could be knackered too.

Jeez hope that's not McGahan's master plan.

When you say next game do you mean Pro 12, if so that would be fantastic.
