If he has priced himself out of a move, and that article I'm sure is not exactly reliable, but IF he has priced himself out of a move, it's hardly misfortune
my understanding is that his offer at Munster is six figures below his current contract (due to the move from central to provincial) and that he wanted to move to see if he could get a high salary.

I'm sure that Munster will make a competitive offer which he will accept withing the next few weeks

Perpignan have signed Josh Valentine from Narbonne so it looks like their interest in TOL is over.

Losing his best players is going to piss off Matt Williams :D

The last sentence of that piece is brilliant.

Do posters realise that this link is to a blog, no references to anyone in authority for the player, agent or either team.

    Yes.

In reference to his 'misfortune', he has a contract on the table from Munster, he had an offer from Perpignan. What part of this is misfortune, exactly?

Wow, thanks. Or you could just scan a couple of posts up before getting all snippy.

I could and you could have qouted the post that you were referring to it would have made things so much clearer.

Uh-huh. Can we get back to rowing about rugby now then?

Edit; a quick spin on the google machine shows that the "Perpignan considered O'Leary too expensive" line is being reported by Midi Olympique, a reasonably creditable source:
    http://www.rugbyrama.fr/rugby/top-14/2011-2012/usap-valentine-pour-2-ans_sto3178386/flashnews.shtml
Apparently Stade Francais were interested in Valentine also.

It's good news for Munster anyway, is the consensus not that he is better than Williams?

Valentine is a good player. Munster should have signed him!

What why no. We've got more back three players than fans at this stage.

We want an IQ second row. Caldwell, Ryan, Nagle, heck we'd probably take MOD for a year

Nagle? Isn't he the best second row in Ireland? ;)

Maybe DOC would be interested in a year in Leinster...(serious)

Hadn't considered that one... He'd be first choice with Toner I'd imagine. I'd love to see that. (I know it won't happen).

About as likely as Kidney making 15 changes but I'd like to see it personally.

MOD for a year would actually be a pretty decent signing for Leinster. A bit of experience and a consummate pro to slot in for PRO12 games. Even someone like Billy Holland to just add squad depth for the PRO12 shouldn't be scoffed at.

Id be very happy with MOD, he's an excellent player. Age would be an issue though I guess.

Neither of those signings would upset me to be honest

Leinster have Cullen, Toner, Browne and Flanagan as senior locks on contract.

Cullen is 34, and I'm not sure how much his age is affecting him I had thought he had declined a few months ago but now I know he was carrying an injury through a lot of the season. Flanagan apparently has S&C issues through he season. I've heard that Leinster are giving him time but he just isn't managing to bulk up.

Munster by comparison have seven senior locks on contracts.

I think Leinster need a class signing and a squad lock for next season. MOD or Holland could easily fill that position as a squad lock.

There's about 6 months between him, DOC and POC. There's life in the old dog yet!

Murray's injury looked very much like a serious knee ligament injury. He's done for the next 5 or 6 months if he's snapped them, less if just badly strained.

Don't fancy TOL starting in the HC QF tbh.

Kidney thinks all major ligaments are ok.

I thought Stringer had gone to Newcastle too but he's playing for Saracens right now. Anyone know what happened to his Newcastle move?
