I get very nervous at gigs whether seated or standing. Was at a football match years ago in Brussels and there was fighting in the crowd. Some fans ran back to a supporting wall to get away from the fighting and the wall collapsed. 39 were killed and 600 injured. Was beside where it happened and ever since have had a terror of crowds. I still go to concerts/gigs but I ALWAYS look for my nearest escape route.

I only like seated gigs & even then I'd almost want free tickets to go to one. I hate loud music & I get really annoyed when people are disorderly and push past me (I have, to my shame, pinched people who were shoving or leaning over me in the past). The only way I'd go to a non-seated gig would be if there were numbered squares painted on the floor and people had to stand in their own square (organised by height or else on a sloping floor so there are no obstructed views) or else be kicked out/killed as a warning to others.

the day I knew I was old was the day I got tickets for a show and took seated ones instead of standing yay for room and the ability to sit :D

when I was at Wrestlemania 24 a fight broke out in the crowd in the next section over and spilled into an area where people are able to move between the sections, it was flat ground out on an america football pitch so the security could get to them quick enough, would have been a different story if it was in the stands though. was just a bunch of drunk twats swinging handbags but it could have gotten really ugly if other people started getting pushed out of their seats on raised ground.

Last night my neighbour and his mate sat out in his car outside my house from 10-3am blaring music, smoking and drinking. I ignored it, not worth starting a war.
Just hear a noise outside and there they are again.
I must not burn down my neighbours house...

Some bint got herself arrested on my road the other night, I don't know what it was all about but she had such a gob on her. I was about to go out to her when the gaurds showed up.

I swear if I ever commit murder it'll be for someone who woke me up.

Oh my god, where you at Heysel?? Jesus I can see how that would put anyone off concerts/matches. Glad you were okay!

anyone I know who goes never actually enjoys it, they just whinge about stuff. if the oxegen "experience" is not washing for a few days, using a toilet thousands of other people have that day and hoping some knacker doesnt set fire to my tent then no thanks.

I loved Oxegen the two times I went! Then again, I never drank at it either. The not showering thing never bothered me either. It's only a couple of days sure.

Though at the same time, I do prefer smaller gigs and I love being up at the front! If i'm too far in the middle though I'll just go further back. I find the pushing and shoving and annoyingness much worse there

Yeah, but let me say I was VERY young! Ha, ha. Oh god,age is terrible. Well, the good thing is I still go to gigs etc but it takes a lot of willpower. I guess you have to do it otherwise life would just pass by and you would miss out.

Aristocat that sounds so frightening, thank god you were okay!

Not-so-fun-fact; my parents were supposed to get married in Sheffield on the day the Hillsborough disaster happened, they changed the date as it would have been a nightmare having a wedding in the city on a big match day. My mum still hates talking about it, even though nobody they knew was involved.

We have to talk about it in a college assignment, it was so horrible

    Scary stuff :(

I know this sounds very strange, but my brother was at Hillsborough. It is unbelievable that the two of us were at these events. Sometimes life is very strange.

I love festivals. I go to one abroad every year and work at Electric Picnic most years too. Missed it last year though. Spent my childhood going to festivals with my parents as my Dad worked at them. Probably went to more as a child than as an adult :/

Oxegen isn't great though. Just seems to be the concerts and the campsite...nothing else really happening. And it always rains! Best festival I was at was Roskilde in Denmark...brilliant!

In other news...I really wish my motivation for college this semester would go up a bit. Did way more last semester.

I was at Pukkelpop last year where loads of people were injured and a few died. Freak storm. Was pretty scary! (but kinda exciting...as horrible as that sounds)

Absolutely adore festivals and gigs. Best concert I was at was AC/DC in Punchestown. Feeling the drums and bass pounding my chest was just intense! To me there's nothing better than seeing one of your favorite bands live. I was right at the front of the barrier and got a pit pass :) My only regret was forgetting my camera :(

I was in the pit at that gig too, and I hated it! Everyone was so tall, thought I was gonna be crushed :o

Come bake for me, I have about 12 hours of it to do tomorrow.

I would love that but unfortunately I can't afford to make my way to you. :p

I have cookies and cupcakes to make for my wonderful bf and also a couple of batches of scones for my mam and my bf's parents. :) I got a really nice recipe on Odlums.ie for some mini pizzas.

I was in PetMania today and they have some really really lovely gerbils. I'm thinking of getting two. :)

I was lucky to get to the front when I did, in the space of 10 mins the crowd tripled around me! One of the best days of my life :D

Need to get my ass in gear with collage, I can't afford to miss exams stupidly anymore (even if it was the tutors fault ) going to try get in early every morning in case and just do some work.

    I feel motivated

This song springs to mind :D

Yep, my boyfriend was at that, he said it was brilliant and he was right up the front as well in the pit. I was subjected to many videos and photos of the same :) The Rock and Roll train was unreal.

Watched a programme on TV3 tonight about the worst plane crash in aviation history, in Tenerife. Feeling sad and not wanting to ever get on a plane again. :(
This usually wears off after a few weeks, but I flew into Tenerife North on a foggy day a few years back and experienced a scary bad landing. Frightens me in retrospect that it's the same runway almost 600 lost their lives on.

(God, I'm being very maudlin!) :o

I know that feeling, we'd just arrived in Gatwick for a flight to Cork when we got the news of the terrible crash there last year. Very scary getting on a plane that day after hearing the news.

Hugs and PM open for you lady! :) xxxx

:) Tomorrow is a national holiday, so I've the day off. I was supposed to go on a sightseeing date but my date had to cancel because a college field trip came up at the last minute :( But I have a jam packed day ahead for myself! I'm really looking forward to it! :)

:) I got tickets to go and see a Starcraft final in Seoul on Saturday. I got them for free....it's supposed to have a massive following in Korea so it will be really intense and competitive, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about even though I know nothing about video games! :)

Hope everyone is having a good week! :)

    What's up Jane m'love?

I'm feeling pretty good today, I got a new knitted dress in New Look at the weekend, it's navy, has a cowl neck and pockets. It's also cuddly as hell and goes well with my jodphurs and boots. <3

Was just about to post that. Took a few minutes for me to realise who they were. Who'd have thunk her name wasn't really cathy it was them talking to Shane that twigged it despite me knowing their story. :pac:
